Tangerine Dream "Blast from the past!"

by Burcrack on 7/9/12Best Buy Theater - New York

The array of music performed by TD showcased a small portion of the 40 plus years of musical talent. Needless to say you can only play so much within 3 hours! Edgar Froese, the founder of 'Tangerine Dream', and the five other band members all of which have their own musical expertise provided a memorable night's worth of entertainment! I saw Edgar Froese and two members of TD perform back in '88 at the 'Radio City Music Hall' absolutely mind-blowing performance.......given that was over 24 years ago! 'Tangerine Dream's' influence on music throughout the decades is a potent force that will last many decades to come!

    Great Concert!

by KFMAN on 7/9/12Underground Arts - Philadelphia

The show was awesome! They played a unique variety of songs that I did not expect them to play. They sounded great. They are true musicians that you can really appreciate after seeing them play live. They covered a song from the Door's first album and played Summer from Vivaldi's Four Seasons using an electronic violin. The drummer seemed like she was having a blast playing and was improvising during some songs. They are so talented and great to watch. The band came out after the show to meet people, sign autographs and take photos. It was just a great night! Highly recommend seeing them.

    Tangerine Dream AWESOME!!!!

by Dolita on 7/8/12Underground Arts - Philadelphia

This band has, like fine wine, gotten even better with age (if that is possible). It exceeded all expectations and was rock-out, toe-tapping, head-nodding space music incredible! It was very disappointing and sad that this incredible band couldn't sell The Electric Factory and was forced to downsize to the Underground Arts venue. It was especially sad that the band even made reference to this and said it was the smallest venue they played since 1968 in Philly. But, it didn't stand in their way of giving the few hundred people that showed up more than their monies worth for the price of admission. All I can say, is that this music crosses many genres and the people that were not in attendance missed a great show and possibly the last they'll ever book in the Philly area since I don't imagine they'll make it back to these parts any time soon.

Good things come in small packages

by Anonymous on 7/8/12Underground Arts - Philadelphia

Venue was changed which I was happy about The Electric factory is a general admission mosh pit not the kind of place that generally attract the fan base for a band that has been arround 45ish years. When they changed venue to underground arts, wasn't suprised. I walked into a place that reminded me of late beatnik early hippy era night club. Those more closed minded might con siderr it a dump. Be that as It may Iwas stunned to se That I would be sitting less than 20 feet from the stage. As the show started there may have been 300 people max there, but it has been over 20 yrs. sinse their last appearence. The band was great all very talented muscians. For the first hour the music just flowed from one piece to the next. Some I recognized some I didn't but I haven't been listening to them much lately. I guess it is a bit out of sit and out of mind. The fans seem to love it ,non fans may have been a little under whelmed due to the simplicity of the light show and lack of movement from the artists. I got to shake hands and thank Edgar for a lifetime of infuential , inspirational and beautifal music music

    by Pak49 on 7/8/12Underground Arts - Philadelphia

Just to see Edgar and his group was a thrill. Not a venue that served them well.a little more spacious perhaps . Band was very good.a big surprise was Edgar staying with the band after the show to greet the audience.

    Tangerine Dream

by Equalizergoss on 7/8/12Underground Arts - Philadelphia

I was disappointed at first when the venue was changed but pleasantly surprised when I got there at the intimacy of the place. An incredible 2 hour show unfolded that I will not soon forget. Good sound , good beer, good prices. Afterwards, the meet and greet was a pleasant surprise. Overall a memorable night.
