About

Tampe Impala in Concert

Tame Impala is Kevin Parker - the almost legendary messianic figure and creative soul who has developed the particular sonic universe of psychedelic pop cultivated with guitar pedals, delays, reverbs and liquid explosions of color. There's no one like him in the current music scene. We were left in 2015 with Currents, Tame Impala's third album which ventured further into the pop genre, and added dance beats and R&B that only served to underpin the enthronement of the Australian. For his fourth album, Tame Impala remained true to his usual impenetrability and stands silent, but we have seen him parade through a number of collaborations: he has shared the studio with Mark Ronson and SZA, he has produced Lady Gaga and Travis Scott, Rihanna covered him on her latest album, he has remixed Mick Jagger and Miguel and has released songs with A$AP, Rocky, Theophilus London and ZHU. So what does all this mean? Well, we know what Tame Impala has been until now, but we haven't a clue what will happen next. And that can only be a good thing.

    Fantastic

    by ninety6tears on 11/15/12Metro - Chicago

I'm always a bit nervous before seeing a band I love for the first time, but Tame Impala did not disappoint. "Be Above It" made for a slightly lackluster opener, but after that the energy of the performance was non-stop. I would have been happy with whatever they played but they definitely hit all my favorite songs.

Great show, great band, great night - but the venue could use some benches along the rail!

    Tame Impala was the tits

by BowDollaz on 11/12/12Webster Hall - New York

This show was actually ridiculous. Kevin Parker's voice is godly. The projector in the background made me trip balls. I had the best time ever.

    Tame Impala was amazing

by GinaRSnape on 11/12/12Webster Hall - New York

Tame Impala at Webster Hall was one of the best shows I've been to all year. They played songs from both albums and their EP. The sound quality was fantastic, and Kevin Parker seemed to be really into playing. He remarked NYC was loud, and he loved it. :)

    Tame Impala Forever

by Durangonos on 11/12/12Webster Hall - New York

Possibly the best show I've been to all year. It was my first time going to Webster Hall, and it didn't seem bad at all. Got there around 7:30, with a solid crowd already waiting, or sitting. The Amazing was a solid opener. By the time they finished, venue was filled up already. Tame Impala played fantastic: Sound was impeccable, Lights were flashing, smoke machine was smoking. It was a true psychedelic experience. Kevin even had some sweet moves during certain songs. 10/10 in my book.

Go see Tame! DO IT, DO IT, DO IT!!!

by HeadGalaxy3 on 11/12/12Webster Hall - New York

The show was great! Excellent crowd and Tame had an excellent performance. The visuals were pretty impressive and the band came out for an encore which is always appreciated. Will definitely be seeing them again next time they're in town. I highly recommend seeing them. It won't be long before their tickets start going for $50+ as a base price.

    Great set, memorable performance

by JakeiGuess on 11/11/12Royale Boston - Boston

I expected a lot out of Tame Impala, and suffice to say I was blown away by the performance. A relatively inexpensive $20 ticket to see a band who put out one of the best albums of 2012 is a steal. The venue was small but not exactly crowded, and it made for a very intimate performance as I was right up against the stage (even managed to snag Kevin Parker's guitar pick). All around a great show, not too far from the subway, giving easy access to go to from anywhere in the city.

Great performance, good crowd, venue, and staff

by Anonymous on 11/11/12Royale Boston - Boston

I usually don't like early shows, but this one was great. Royale is a good venue and the staff was friendly, even though the crowd was very excited. Tame Impala was wonderful and exceeded the high expectations I had for them. I left the show happy and would see them again any time they come to the Boston area.

Tame Impala completely brings it live

by gruffrhys on 8/16/12Paradise - Boston

they definitely take things to a new level live - sound was dialed in perfectly at the Paradise in Boston, where i saw them twice last year. They bring it to almost rave-like proportions. I was really impressed.

    incredible show.

by Beans120 on 8/9/12Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

I must say that this show was amazing. I love all of their recorded stuff, but live was even better. And they performed their supposed ''first encore'' performance here in NYC. Great stuff. Venue was great. Ticket purchasing blew. TM, make it a little easier next time. I went on to get the tickets at 12 when they were put on sale and it kept saying "looking for tickets". Eventually, I was able to get two after a painstaking effort. SHOW WAS GREAT THOUGH.

great show and love the venue - third time seeing the band and love them every time - found a great spot on the upper balcony - opener was a bit too loud for my taste but it didn't take away anything from the whole show

    Awesome band, great show

by skattech on 5/1/11Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Tame Impala performed a very tight and nearly flawless show (just a bit on the short side, which is a excellent sign or indicator of just how good this band is). While not quite in the same league of Brian Jonestown Massacre, but in a similar genre and relatively same stage presence - just play the music and screw the theatrics. Enjoyed their light show for the most part. It was both mind expanding (for most part) and somewhat distracting. I figure they could have fired another camera with ethereal imagery (to enhance what was already mind altering); it would have helped cover up the calibration marks on the screen (what distracted me the most - reveled too much of the 'magic'). Loved them overall. Highly recommended. Pick up their CD, "Innerspeaker". It's excellent, too.

    Tame Impala was amazing

by jeff968 on 4/27/11Webster Hall - New York

I wish them the best for success, they are a very talented band with a great sound. The concert was amazing. I enjoyed seeing Lawn and Yuck as well. I wish they came out a little earlier as I didn't get home until 2am and I had to be at work bright and early the next day but hey, it was worth it.
