    Energizing and uplifting show

    Takuya Kuroda-Very Hip music!

    I was unaware of Takuya Kurosawa before he came to Jimmy’s Jazz Club in Portsmouth. Because he was playing there, I decided to check him out. WOW! There was an interchange between him and his sax player that was phenomenal! They do a lot with rhythm-it’s not just monotonous 4/4 time. The drummer kept things interesting the whole night with different feels. The piano player didn’t do as much soloing, but his comping was always drawing more out from the soloists. Highly recommend!
