One of the best shows I have ever been to
by dbank57 on 11/11/25The Charleston Music Hall - CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5Having discovered Tab Benoit about five years ago and after two failed attempts to see him live, I finally made it to his show. It was well worth the wait. Let me just say, Charleston Music Hall is the perfect venue to see any show; not too crowded, comfortable seating, convenient refreshments, and the staff is always so friendly. So Tab came on right at nine and played for an hour and a half straight, no breaks. He opened with Medicine and it was a string of his best songs with a couple off his latest album sprinkled in. Tab interacts with the audience between songs, adding to his charm and mystique. And, man, I am telling you, the things he can make that old 72 Fender guitar do is nothing short of magical. Corey was with him bringing in the bass and the drummer never missed a beat. Together, they are the consummate live band for an evening of good ol' electric swamp blues music. The next morning, the wife and I got up and played Tab's music on Alexa for three hours. Whenever a song that he played the night before came on, we would talk about how he did it at the show. What a night! I will definitely go see him again ...
