    Outstanding

by Joe on 5/10/24Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I am new to Broward County after enjoying 50 years of the magnificent Cleveland Orchestra in my hometown. This was my first time hearing the Symphony of the Americas. I loved the enthusiasm and skill of the orchestra and look forward to seeing and hearing them again— and again.

They did a beautiful job with the music!

by Jeff F on 5/10/24Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

It was fun to have a superstar, Pinchas Zuckerman, and his wife (and Pinchas's wife was a Great cellist). It seemed to me that he kind of featured her but that might just be the music. Wow! They did a great job with the Brahms double concerto. I had not heard that performed for decades - nice to see the piece seems to be re-emerging into the repertoire. And the orchestra sounded great supporting them. The second half was equally excellent with the orchestra doing a beautiful job with the Debussy (Afternoon of a faun) and Ravel (Bolero) pieces. Our local Symphony of the Americas is a very fine orchestra indeed!

A great season finally!!! Fabulous choice of the pieces. Maestro Dielgo delivered a wonderful musical experience once again and the Symphony did not fail its audience as always. Thank you for an unforgettable season!

    Outstanding concert performance

by msk on 5/8/24Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I had high hopes for this concert and it superseded all my expectations. The orchestra played together as one and the program choices built to a perfect crescendo, as the concert ended with Ravel's lively and bold "Bolero"and, as the Conductor said, giving almost every individual player an opportunity to shine. This included a magical playing of the snare drum (not an instrument I even think about often) by a young man I was happily able to congratulate when I was leaving. The soloists, Pinchas Zuckerman and Amanda Forsyth, were, of course, quite wonderful, the accoustics sounded perfect to me, and the entire concert was more than wonderfully conducted by Pablo Mielgo. I went home feeling emotionally uplifted and well-rewarded for the two hours of driving involved.

    Very pleasurable experience

by RonChatt on 5/8/24Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I have given up going to symphonic performances in Miami as the traffic both ways is horrendous and parking is not always easy. It is hard to enjoy a performance when you have been stuck in traffic for 90 minutes (coming from Pembroke Pines to Coral Gables). So this is the first performance I have been to in Ft. Lauderdale. The drive was very easy both ways, and parking was available just across the street in easy walking distance, even during the busy Cinco De Mayo festivities that were also happening. The seating was comfortable enough and the view and sound quality were excellent. The season's final concluded with a very stirring rendition of Ravel's Bolero, and the orchestra and conductor were at their finest. The pricing was also very fair. I have nothing but positive experiences and will certainly return when the next season kicks off later this year.
