About

Switchfoot are a Grammy-winning rock band from San Diego, California. Formed in 1996 by brothers Jon and Tim Foreman and drummer Chad Butler, the group released three albums before gaining major label attention following several prominent syncs in the 2002 romantic drama A Walk to Remember. In 2003, Switchfoot released their breakout fourth album The Beautiful Letdown, which went triple-platinum behind the band’s first Hot 100-charting singles “Meant to Live” and “Dare You to Move.” Their 2005 follow-up, Nothing Is Sound, hit a career-peak No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and the band would log another three Top 10 albums with 2011’s Vice Verses, 2014’s Fading West and 2016’s Where the Light Shines Through. Additionally, Switchfoot have earned six No. 1s on the Top Christian Albums chart, and their 2009 effort Hello Hurricane nabbed the band’s first Grammy for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album. In 2023, Switchfoot released The Beautiful Letdown (Our Version), a 20th anniversary re-recording via their self-run independent label, lowercase people records.

  • They Rocked

by Sean on 8/20/25Yucaipa Performing Arts Center Outdoor Stage - YucaipaRating: 5 out of 5

Switchfoot has only gotten better with time. They do a great show and put their all into it. They played every song like they were excited to play for the first time. They executed every song excellently. They were glad to be there with a great sense of humor. They care about their fans and they believe sincerely in their message of hope and pointing people in an upward positive perspective. Any chance to see them is well worth it. The venue was overall good too at YPAC. They need a couple extra vendors for shorter lines, but overall no complaints.

  • Seating wasn’t good

by Jay on 8/20/25Yucaipa Performing Arts Center Outdoor Stage - YucaipaRating: 3 out of 5

The Band was amazing, no complaints there. But the venue just isn’t great for concert seating. We had three kids and none could see the stage. We weren’t even that far back. But the ground seems almost completely flat, not enough incline so that the back seat are higher with better view. I could’ve told my kids to stand on their seats but that would have been rude to the people behind us. So instead, they saw pretty much nothing. It was my sons first concert experience and he left so disappointed. Very sad.

  • Small venue made for a community experience

by Dawn S on 7/19/25Capital Region Amphitheater - Jefferson CityRating: 5 out of 5

This was my fourth time experiencing Switchfoot live. This one was my favorite. I already enjoy many of the band's songs and have A LOT of them saved to my Spotify Favorites playlist, but this band shines when they play live. When they take the stage, they engage with the audience, and I think everyone feels the connection. This experience was magnified on July 12th at the Capitol Amphitheatre in Jefferson City because the venue is small and outdoors, a perfect setting for a summer concert! It was electric and memorable, for sure!!

They were great and the outdoor Amphitheater added to the experience sound was great and no after effects of eardrum shutdown. Loud and clear audio.
