  • Jeremy Camp was simply amazing!

by MikeSusieTara on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely wonderful concert. Jeremy Camp, alone, was worth the price of admission. Steven Curtis Chapman is a seasoned pro.

  • Jeremy Camp & SCC are unbelievable!

by NewChristianOf3Yrs on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Both gentlemen were amazing in their performances. They played older & newer songs. But the message they each brought was also inspiring! EVERYONE should hear/see these two gentlemen if given the opportunity. DON'T MISS IT!!

  • Both artists were Amazing!!

by mannalee on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

I grew up listening to Steven Curtis Chapman and it was so fun to hear the older songs again. They were upbeat and fun to get in to. Jeremy Camp is newer but I listen to his stuff all the time so knew the songs. The two really go well together and I enjoyed the whole night. The night ended perfectly with fireworks at the end.

  • Steven from the heart

by beetlebug on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

I was in awe of how genuine Steven was tonight. He has had some major trials in life in the past year or two. I thought his willingness to share freely from his heart made his testimony of living for the Lord even more believable. His songs are thought provoking and leave you wanting more. They fill a place in your heart which can only be reached by music. I also was pleased to learn that Steven has his two sons traveling with him in his band.

  • Chapman / Camp very uplifting!

by Sikkema on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

We could have listened to Jeremy Camp all night. He was very uplifting and had a lot of energy. Our Family loved to listen to Steven Curtis Chapman's family stories. We loved how his music was from his family and his heart.

  • Chapman & Camp WOW

by willomena on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 4 out of 5

Either one could be the headliner. To have them both is a blessing. Both played old and current with an awesome new song by Chapman. Looking forward to buying the new album.

  • Jeremy and steven are the greatest

by graceful1 on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Jeremy Camp and Steven curtis Chapman put on an amazing concert at the Iowa State Fair. It is so great that the fair brings in Christian entertainers to our state. There was a good crowd there to watch them. Both singers had great messages to tell and were very inspiring to all those that attended. Thank you Iowa State Fair.

  • Awesome

by Husker90 on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

The Steven Curtis Chapman/Jeremy Camp concert at the Iowa State Fair was both Hot in temperature and Hot in entertainment. It was a night filled with great music and a spiritual uplifting testimonials from both artists. These two artists are people you can relate to and believe they walk and talk everything they sing about in their music. It was a night that I enjoyed greatly. Thank you 107.1 KNWI and the State Fair for including Christian music in the entertainment line up again this year.

  • LIVE OUT LOUD!

by DBob on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 4 out of 5

Jeremy Camp opened the show with my personal favorite, "Give You Glory." I'm not sure how familiar some of the crowd was with his catalog of music because they were a little slow to warm up. Camp, however, kept the energy level up by continuing with "Tonight" and pulled the crowd into it with his conversations with them in between songs. His stories of his family, his faith, and his experiences connected each of his songs with his life and to similar experiences that those in the crowd may have had. By the end of his set, the people were wanting more. More came when Steven Curtis Chapman hit the stage. I think most of the crowd was there for him and more familiar with is music, having released about 15 albums through his stellar career. HIs son Caleb joined him on guitar and his son Will was on drums so it really became a family event. He shared his faith journey through stories of his family and his music, beginning with "The Great Adventure," an older tune from his catalog. He included many more recent tunes like "Live Out Loud," "Dive," and "Magnificent Obsession." He was even nice enough to give us a sneak peek of his upcoming album by performing "Heaven Has A Face," which he recently recorded for his November release.

  • Opener should have been headliner...

by PorkChopOnaStick on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 2 out of 5

Even with typical State Fair sound issues (muddy and bass-heavy), Jeremy Camp still rocked and filled his set with big hits and some moving worship songs. Steven Curtis Chapman is definitely talented, but he spent most of the night talking - I think he only played six songs TOTAL. Not worth the price of admission for all the SCC fans in the stands. Jeremy Camp-sters got their money's worth, but headliners should be expected to play a longer set with more numbers than the opener.... Should have given the headline to Camp and let SCC talk it up as an opening act.

  • Rockers with a message

by IM4JESUS on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was fantastic. Jeremy Camp got the crowd to their feet with that throaty, powerful voice and Steven finished it off with soothing, soulful songs from the heart. Both bands showed unforgettable passion. These guys, and the bands, love what they do, and love God. With all the pain in their pasts', it is a testimony to God Love to see them pour their heart and soul into sharing their gifts with us. If you want to see God's work through two fantastic musicians, go see these guys!

  • God's provisions abundant!

Our family of 4 purchased 6 tickets to the Jeremy Camp/Steven Curtis Chapman concert. We enjoyed it very much and are thankful to ISF and 107.1 for sponsoring this. Keep having these types of concerts and venues offered at the ISF. We'll keep coming back! Btw, the fireworks display was an added bonus! Thanks!

  • Great

by Threesome on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Three of us attended and we all thought that Jeremy and Steven were both awesome. It was great music and so good to be surrounded by others who love the Lord. Thanks to the Iowa State Fair for bringing them to our state!

  • Amazing Concert!!

by MusicLover101 on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was amazing!! I truly enjoyed the evening and am thrilled that the Iowa State Fair continues to set aside one Grandstand night for contemporary Christian music. What a great combination, Steven & Jeremy.

  • double dip music treat!

by lipovaca on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 4 out of 5

the show was fantastic, the artists were engaging and real. I felt like I got my money's worth out of Jeremy Camp so the Steven Curtis Chapman portion of the show was really great since it was on the same ticket. The only problem with the show was the sound wasn't set up to make Jeremy sound as good as I have heard him before, but it was set up great for Steven.

  • Jeremy Camp / Steven Curtis Chapman were great!!

by Oneofmany on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was a God-honoring event. God was exalted and not the musicians although they were truly gifted and entertaining. They were open with their lives and their struggles. Jeremy Camp with the loss of his first wife to cancer and Stephen with the death of his 5-year old in 2008 in an accident in his driveway. One cool thing - Stephen's 2 boys are on the road with him. One is an amazing drummer and the other a guitarist. So cool to see a family that loves each other and focuses on God.

  • Took Way to Long

by jcl0525 on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 2 out of 5

Jeremy Camp did a wonderful job both with his music and with his ministry. The sound was terrible in the grandstands the 1st two songs but seem to be fixed for the rest of his show. It took them 40 minutes to change stage settings in my opinion that was way to long. Steven Curtis Chapman didn't even take the stage until 9:35 p.m. for a concert that started at 8 p.m. We left by 10 disappointed in the sound quality. You couldn't understand half of his vocals because the sound was so poor. We were also disappointed that 2 hours into the concert we had only heard 3 songs of his. I am sure he is an incredible performer and I will go to another concert given the opportunity but not at the Iowa State Fair. God has given both of these men a superb talent.

  • Chapman and Camp Rock the Stage

by SailingSister on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Steven Curtis Chapman and Jeremy Camp kicked off the Iowa State Fair in grand fashion. The Holy Spirit was present throughout the entire concert. They had the audience on their feeting, singing, clapping and swaying to the music. They both left everyone wanting more. The only thing that distracted from both performers was the volume. The background music was so loud at times it was hard to understand or even hear the words. However, I would definitely go to see both of them again. Thank you!

  • Jeremy Camp concert teriffic

Way too loud! couldn't hear, wish I wouldn't have bought tickets, but sat outside grandstand and listened there. Left concert a little early and listened ouside grandstand, much better!

  • Steven Curtis Chapman is Amazing

by Pegster554 on 8/14/09Iowa State Fair - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

I had the priviledge of seeing Steven Curtis Chapman in May at another venue. He truly touched my heart and once again he outdid himself at the Iowa State Fair last night - he puts such emotion into his singing and with all he and his family have been through, it is a testimony for all of us!
