  • 20 out of 10!

by MNPeterH on 10/29/18State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Steven Curtis Chapman's SCC Solo concert was filled with incredible music, stories from his life and faith that brought on tears but also made us laugh hysterically. I easily give this a 20 out of 10.

  • Talks too much

by FredieG on 10/29/18State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 2 out of 5

I love Steven Curtis Chapman and have waited 20-years to see him in concert. Timing never worked out until this event. I was supposed to go with my husband but ended up going alone, which was best because my husband is not a Christian and would have been annoyed all evening, as I was. I was expecting a musical concert but the majority of the time was spent with Chapman talking and repeating himself a lot with his story or giving long winded details that just seemed like they were never to end. There was very little actual music and midway through I nearly got up and left. He has wonderful music and those of us who follow him know the details of his life he rambled on and on about. I stayed to the end but I was very disappointed by the end of the evening and felt very much ripped off and would not consider this much of a concert. I had friends who also attended, whom I purchased tickets for and they too felt the same.

I may be old fashion but when I go to a concert I want to hear them sing. There was way more talking than there was singing. Kind of a disappointment.

  • Concert Great, Meet & Greet Awful

by DeppT on 10/29/18State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

We paid extra to participate in a Meet & Greet with Stephen Curtis Chapman that was supposed to start at 5pm. We weren’t allowed in until 50-55 minutes later! Lots of people forced to stand in a small area because we had already been through security and with no explanation. Very disheartening! Actual concert was great! With that said, Stephen is humorous, passionate and extremely talented!

  • Great night!

by JulieTripp on 10/29/18State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

I would highly recommend this concert. If I had any concern, it would be that Steven took a long time telling about his ministry, Show Hope, and asking for support. I don't mind a little time spent on that, but the time spent was excessive and the night got to be pretty late.

  • SCC was awesome!

by Solidrockpix on 10/8/18Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Steven Curtis Chapman never fails to do a great concert, but this one toped all the other times I have previously seen him. It was just him on stage with his guitars and piano for more than 2 1/2 hours. What a fantastic experience. If you are looking for a big show with a full band, this is not it. Half the night was Chapman sharing stories of his family and related to his songs. It was a great experience in a more intimate setting.

  • Great music, just not enough of it

by sfhpsu on 10/8/18Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 2 out of 5

SCC's music is so great and he was at the top of his game for the music he played. Unfortunately, in the first half, there was way too much talking for our preference. Nice to hear the stories but just too much. Not sure whether it was less in 2nd half because we decided not to stay.

    Excellent audience interaction. Very entertaining.

  • Incredible, life changing

SCC concerts are so personable. Challenging and a blessing.

  • The most amazing night!

by akacard on 10/7/18Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Steven Curtis Chapman's Solo concert was so wonderful. He sang songs, told some stories about his life, and opened the floor up for requests too. His songs have been a soundtrack for much of my life. So glad that I went and was able to meet and have a photo opportunity with him. He is such a humble man

  • Absolutely Amazing

by pilotdude on 9/24/18The Lyric Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

This was a perfect, very intimate concert. The venue couldn't have been better, and Steven's delivery of his songs, and his engagement with the audience was great. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I highly recommend it. Seeing him play all of these songs with just a guitar (and couple on keyboard) was incredible. Wow...

This was an awesome solo concert. SCC is a great singer sharing God’s message. I would recommend and even go to another concert when he performs again.

  • SCC at B'ham Lyric -- WOW!!!

by LightfootfromCS on 9/10/18The Lyric Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Best solo concert ever-- well worth the ticket prices. Also saw the one in Muscle Shoals. Both were incredible experiences. Lyric is an amazing venue.

It was an incredible event. I have listened to Steven Curtis Chapman music for 30 years, so it was a blessing to not only hear him play and sing, but to hear the stories behind the songs.

Great evening with SCC. Much more than a concert. You actually felt like you got to know him as a close friend. It was an evening where he shared not only his musical life story, but about his family and his upbringing.

  • SCC Did Not Disappoint

    by sgr9495 on 9/10/18The Lyric Theatre - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the music, sound was great. Steven Curtis Chapman shared his heart and many of his greatest hits - important message of renewal and remembering the good and the bad. He is genuine and open about his successes and the deep valleys his family has been through, surviving only with God's help and healing. The Lyric is a beautifully restored venue. Our only disappointment was the bathroom situation.

  • Don’t miss this!

by jbieg on 9/10/18The Lyric Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

What a warm, energetic, amazingly talented, wonderful performer! The way SCC draws you in with stories about his life and his songs makes you feel like you are at his house with friends listening to him play! Loved every minute!
