  • unforgetable as usual!

by JoeJitty on 5/5/13Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - BethelRating: 5 out of 5

Thoroughly enjoyable! Put on a great show as they usually do! 2nd time I have seen them perform, planning on going to see them on stage with Steve Martin in Pa. That should be a unique! Their vocal harmony is so Right on! In my opinion, they are one of the best "Bluegrass" groups on the circuit.

This group was great, enjoyed every moment. The time flew by so fast.

  • Steep Canyon Rangers are phenomenal!

by soontoretire on 5/5/13Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - BethelRating: 5 out of 5

Every one of the 5 musicians was outstanding. Their music was unbelievable. We loved the rich voice harmonies, the selection of songs, the acapela pieces, the fiddler who danced and sang with his amazing instrument, the banjo man whose fingers barely moved, but played rapid riffs. We were thrilled with this group and plan to buy CD's. Thanks, Bethel Woods, for making this great group available to us in Sullivan County.

Wow, what a show. The best Bluegrass i've seen. Always a pleasure to watch and listen to true musicians.

  • Steep Canyon Rangers gave a tremendous show!

    by TreeLover53 on 1/30/13Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Steep Canyon Rangers keep improving with time. They are excellent musicians and the lyrics always a delight. I hope they are successful at the Grammy's this year - they are deserving of that tribute!

  • Steep Canyon Rangers were amazing!

by dstephenmoore on 1/28/13Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen a fair number of bluegrass shows, but the Steep Canyon Rangers was probably the most energetic and entertaining I've seen, especially of those with a more traditional sound. Despite the high energy, all of the musicians maintained tight coordination. The fiddle player, Nicky Sanders, was particularly talented and incredible. My girlfriend, who was with me and plays the violin, looked absolutely flabbergasted watching Nicky play. I highly recommend seeing these guys live.

  • Steep Canyon Rangers are just amazing!

by Anonymous on 1/28/13Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen a lot of blue grass bands, but there are no others like the Steep Canyon Rangers. They have broken the code on retaining their freshness and engaging stage presence despite many years performing together. I've seen them in both small and large venues and marvel at their ability to keep all of them intimate and personal. Followers are always rewarded with their standards, and routinely treated to new originals that we can't wait to get on CD and take home. This is no cover band, these are dyed-in-the-wool artists---each and every one of them. They have earned their Grammy Nominations and it is only a matter of time before the industry finally gives them their due with the award. The Birchmere is a fine venue, and there are no bad seats in the house, but I'd sit in an alley to listen to these guys.

  • WE COULD HAVE LISTENED ALL NIGHT

by BigGeorges on 1/28/13Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Great evening,at the Birchmere despite the snow- music was fabulous, crowd was large and into the music and band members were friendly and interacted well with us. The Birchmere has it down pat how to put on a great and organized show. Great evening, to be repeated the next time Steep Canyon Rangers are anywhere close !

if you want to fill your Jones with witnessing talented musicians, you don't need to go any further than SCR! Best bluegrass performers around today.

  • Better than I imagined

by MontanaNative on 1/27/13Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Had not hear SCR before, and was truly impressed. Great music, great vibes with the audience, and the Birchmere was - as always - a fun venue. Really enjoyed hearing the mandolin, and the Bass player was phenomenal.

  • Fantastic musicians

by Serx on 1/27/13Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

These are some of the most talented musicians I have ever seen. At the end of the improvisational "train song," the whole audience was on its feet.

  • Steep Canyon Rangers are all awesome musicians

by Bstill on 2/26/12Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This was actually the largest venue I've seen them in, but it was still small enough to be somewhat intimate. They are possibly the best musicians in the universe and I'll go see them any time they come to town!

This is a great bluegrass band! Skilled musicians with beautiful voices.

  • Steep Canyon Rangers Rock

by discomaygen on 2/26/12Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I was not expecting to love this band as much as I did. FABulous performance! I've never been a Bluegrass fan, but I am now!

  • The hardest working musicians I've ever seen.

by Anonymous on 2/26/12Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

These gentlemen are incredible. I've never seen such talented musicians work so hard to put on such a good show for their fans, and it was very appreciated. They dressed in suits - something that many musicians don't do currently, and it reminded me of watching the Beatles on the Johnny Carson show. I really enjoyed the general seating - we chose to sit in the balcony. I loved when they would feature the individual players during their solos with the lighting. Everyone is so talented, but Nicky Sanders is so enjoyable to watch perform in particular because of how animated he becomes.

  • Steep Canyon Rangers emit a powerful energy!

by FoothillsGirl on 2/17/12Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

This is the 2nd time I've seen the Steep Canyon Rangers this year. These Carolina boys are incredibly gifted musicians! Their fingers play so fast I thought their instruments would catch fire! And Woody's voice is so rich and sincere. They can convert even the most doubtful music fan to Bluegrass. I love the way they share the stage with eachother and highlight each talent. They are a truly polished and professional...and still just NICE, down-to-earth, fun people. I have tickets to see Frampton this weekend...and I was way more excited about SCR!
