I attended the "Stars on Ice" tour last year, and was completely blown away with the performances. I almost didn't go this year, until I saw Kurt Browning was one of the skaters. I've never seen him skake in person, and I knew he was retiring from the professional circuit. This year's show did not disappoint. From start to finish, the skaters showed style, elegance, grace, and some humor in their routines. We've seen them all perform on television, but there is nothing more thrilling than to see them in person to truly appreciate the talent they bring to the show.
For me, I had an additional thrill in being part of the "Meet & Greet". This provided me with the opportunity to share with the skaters the things I remember most about their past performances or their performance that day. Sharing with Jason Brown that the first time I saw him perform "Riverdance", he stole my heart; with Satoko Miyahara how impressed I was with the grace and elegance she brings to the ice; commenting to Alissa Czisny how entertaining it must be living with Kurt Browning; telling Nathan Chen that in my opinion, he is truly the GOAT of figure skating; sharing with Loena Hendrickx how much I enjoyed traveling through her beautiful country of Belgium; asking Madison and Evan if they set a wedding date, only to be followed up by the humor of Alexa Knierim wondering if she would get an invitation to the wedding. I could go on with the memories I made just with the "Meet and Greet". The show is done with such a level of professionalism, as well as a variety of musical scores. Well done, "Stars on Ice" and IMG.
