About

ST. VINCENT IN CONCERT:

Possessing a rare combination of art-school appeal and mainstream accessibility, St. Vincent's Annie Clark is well on her way to full blown pop stardom. From her collaborations with David Byrne and Sufjan Stevens to her acclaimed work as St. Vincent, Clark has demonstrated an unbridled creativity and commitment to pop experimentation, making her a favorite with fans and critics alike. Her recordings may be stunning, but it's her talents as a performer that really make Clark stand out — taking the stage in an architectural gown, Clark's otherworldly movements and ethereal vocals are the stuff of legend, making her 2014 tour dates a must for any fan of true avant-pop spectacle.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Oklahoma, Annie Clark, a.k.a. St. Vincent, took up the guitar at age 12, going on to play in her high school's jazz band as a teenager. After spending three years at Boston's Berklee College of Music in the early '00s, Clark dropped out to pursue real-world musical experience, joining the Polyphonic Spree for their European tour. In 2006, she left the band to join Sufjan Steven's touring band, beginning to record as St. Vincent the same year. Her 2007 debut album  Marry Me received praise for its intricate arrangements and unexpected compositional twists, paving the way for the success of 2009 sophomore effort Actor, a Top 10 hit on Billboard's Independent Albums Chart. With the early-2014 release of her fifth album, Clark once again drew unilateral praise from critics, cracking the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 and embarking on an international headlining tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

" Even better live than on her albums, St. Vincent lit up the Fox. It was an awesome mashup reminiscent of Bowie, Mercury and Gaga. I loved it, and will be back for more."

"Gorgeous songs, surprising choreography, enchanted excitement. I urge anyone who loves sophisticated pop to see this show."

"Yes, yes, yes, and yes! Great playing, awesome sound, killer production aesthetics and an overall great SHOW. St. Vincent and her band are kicking butt and taking names."

by J. H. on 10/15/21Radio City Music Hall - New York

The St. Vincent concert at Radio City Music Hall was great and I really enjoyed it!! This was the first time that I have ever been to a St. Vincent concert. I really had an awesomely fantastic time watching and dancing to the performances of her songs. I hope I get to another St. Vincent concert someday. It would be great if St. Vincent and her band could come to Raleigh, NC one day.

    Amazing show!!

by JK on 10/15/21Radio City Music Hall - New York

Artists step up their game when they come to NY and St. Vincent did exactly that. She was 100% committed to kicking ass, the band was ridiculously tight - I've never heard drums mic'd so well. Radio City acoustics were supreme. All around fantastic!!

From Central Park to Radio City

    by J. P. on 10/15/21

I’ve been a longtime fan of St. Vincent. I think the first performance I ever saw was back in 2009-10 at a free show in Central Park. At the that time Actor had just been released and St. Vincent and the band transported us through what felt like a number of pictures and paintings. There was definitely a level of extraction. With Daddy’s Home I experienced almost the opposite. We’re already in NYC, but the landscape looks different. The muddy browns and bright yellow taxis with greens and oranges and purple sewed in. I was very excited to hear the 70s funk and grit come to the stage at Radio City, and Annie and the band delivered. Such a groovy time with new takes on old songs that I wish I had to listen to whenever I wanted. Without going on for too long, just wanted to say I had a blast at the show. It’s been fun watching the St. Vincent performance and sound through all these years. It’s been a pleasure, and I can’t wait to attend another St. Vincent show again.

    Amazing

by De on 10/14/21The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

St Vincent was an absolute delight. She has been one of my favorite artist for years, I am so beyond happy I was able to see her. She opened with a comedian, which was very unique - I was extremely impressed. Annie owned the stage. Her backup singers were so talented. There was this one part of the show where the backup singers walked in slow motion - that was a show all in itself. The musicians did not fail to bring a master class performance. I cannot wait to see her preform live again.

    A Fantastic Show

by Zach on 10/14/21The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Annie really puts it all into her performances, and this was no exception. From the set design to choreography everything I expected was here and then more. Great selection of songs across her long and varied discography and overall, it is a night I will never forget.

    Fabulous Start to Finish

by James on 10/14/21The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

I had always been upstairs at the Met prior to this one, I have to say the venue from the floor seemed more exciting and intimate. The set spanned Annie's decades long career with marvelous renditions of her latest Daddy's Home. It was an experience had to viewed live to appreciate the finesse and artistry enveloped in absolute joyous excitement. What a heart stealing show!

A most unique and fun show

by ESR traveler on 10/14/21The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Great band, excellent performance. The mix could have been better for Annie’s voice to let it stand out more. The Met is a nice venue except for the way-too-large “mosh pit” taking the front and center away as general admission. You may as well take that ticket vs a floor seat; you’re standing the entire time anyway. For St Vincent, standing to dance was okay.

    Overall, fun night!

by Billy on 10/13/21Ascend Amphitheater - Nashville

My only complaint is that the men's restrooms should have been cleaner. It looks like it's time for them to refurbished the restrooms due to normal wear and tear.

I never review anything, but the show was so well done I felt I had to comment. Not only is the music great, but it was a visually interesting show. I could go on, but basically it was an excellent performance.

by Joey on 10/12/21Ascend Amphitheater - Nashville

One of the best performers out there. Such raw talent! She played several instruments across her set with ease, and the songs sound even better live. Will be seeing her on every tour from now on.
