About

ST. VINCENT IN CONCERT:

Possessing a rare combination of art-school appeal and mainstream accessibility, St. Vincent's Annie Clark is well on her way to full blown pop stardom. From her collaborations with David Byrne and Sufjan Stevens to her acclaimed work as St. Vincent, Clark has demonstrated an unbridled creativity and commitment to pop experimentation, making her a favorite with fans and critics alike. Her recordings may be stunning, but it's her talents as a performer that really make Clark stand out — taking the stage in an architectural gown, Clark's otherworldly movements and ethereal vocals are the stuff of legend, making her 2014 tour dates a must for any fan of true avant-pop spectacle.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Oklahoma, Annie Clark, a.k.a. St. Vincent, took up the guitar at age 12, going on to play in her high school's jazz band as a teenager. After spending three years at Boston's Berklee College of Music in the early '00s, Clark dropped out to pursue real-world musical experience, joining the Polyphonic Spree for their European tour. In 2006, she left the band to join Sufjan Steven's touring band, beginning to record as St. Vincent the same year. Her 2007 debut album  Marry Me received praise for its intricate arrangements and unexpected compositional twists, paving the way for the success of 2009 sophomore effort Actor, a Top 10 hit on Billboard's Independent Albums Chart. With the early-2014 release of her fifth album, Clark once again drew unilateral praise from critics, cracking the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 and embarking on an international headlining tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

" Even better live than on her albums, St. Vincent lit up the Fox. It was an awesome mashup reminiscent of Bowie, Mercury and Gaga. I loved it, and will be back for more."

"Gorgeous songs, surprising choreography, enchanted excitement. I urge anyone who loves sophisticated pop to see this show."

"Yes, yes, yes, and yes! Great playing, awesome sound, killer production aesthetics and an overall great SHOW. St. Vincent and her band are kicking butt and taking names."

  • st. Vincent is amazing

    by I love St V on 9/14/24Brooklyn Paramount - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

My first concert seeing her. She was outstanding. So committed, such a good musician and performer, her band is ridiculous, the stage was great. The venue was perfect. So happy I went.

  • One of a kind!

  • St. Vincent’s Electric Night at the Met

by Brian O on 9/9/24The Met Presented by Highmark - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Annie Clark, known by her stage name St. Vincent, delivered a truly electrifying performance at the Met in Philadelphia during her 2024 All Born Screaming tour. With a setlist that spanned her entire discography, the concert was a testament to her undeniable talent and captivating stage presence. An all round electric night! One of the most memorable moments of the night came just after Clark did a little crowd surfing, she scaled the wall of the Met’s ornate stage, climbing onto a balcony overlooking the audience. The crowd watched in awe as she she dangled from the balcony railing, before hoisting herself up onto the balcony in triumph! The moment was both exhilarating and slightly terrifying, as the singer was lifted high above the crowd, her face a mixture of excitement and exhilaration.

  • St Vincent performed

by Twc on 9/9/24The Met Presented by Highmark - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

St Vincent was fabulous. Great presentation of the songs all with new presentations and extended playing. Not just playing a song as it was recorded on the album. Entertaining on the stage

  • Amazing show as always

by BigTimeNothing on 9/9/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was a stunner as usual. Annie's vocal, musical, and performative talents are unique and captivating. Her band mates are on point and keep up with her standard of laying out a quality show. The opener was fun and artistic and made me feel 19 again. I always want more of Annie's actual vocals, but I'm no sound expert so that was probably just how the balance was where I was standing. I also always want more songs, but the night must end somewhere. So grateful for this group and the amazing music they put in the world.

  • Sick!

Talent up the wa-zooo! Polished yet raw. Does her own thing without alienating you. Controlled chaos.

it's like she played every song on my wishlist. great setlist great energy and she was being silly sometimes and made me giggle. and she climbed around which I did not expect her to do anymore. a concert full of wonderful surprises

  • Great preformance poor sound mix

by Damon on 9/9/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

The artist were great, but like many Boston area performances the sound mix was awful. Didn’t go to see a “drum and bass” show, but they totally drowned out the vocals and guitar. Are the sound tech terrible at their job, tone deaf, or mad at the lead artist for stealing the thunder of their failed drumming career?

  • Would see again

by Taylor on 9/9/24The Met Presented by Highmark - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

This was a really good show. Best show I have seen in a while.

  • St Vincent - Philly September 6th 2024

by Tom C Reed on 9/9/24The Met Presented by Highmark - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

St Vincent appeared at The Met in Philly. It's a nice theater with mostly good seats and visibility. I enjoyed the opening act, though I can't tell you the name. As far as I know, it was not publicized and they were not introduced. Their performance was interesting and their role as an opening act was fitting. St Vincent was an excellent performer and the band did an excellent job! I would suggest a little more attention on Annie's voice from her production crew. She's a very good singer and her voice could have been more clear to the audience. However, I was happy to have experienced the performance! I would describe this concert as a musical - visual art event! The musicianship was very good and the visuals only added to it! Good job!

  • St. Vincent = Awesome

by Avery's Dad on 9/9/24The Met Presented by Highmark - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

3rd time seeing her and easily the best. She didn't hold back at all, played to the crowd and performed the greatest crowd surf I've ever seen.

  • All-around phenomenonal

by Meg on 9/8/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Such an amazing performance. St. Vincent delivered with a long set and her entertaining, creative artistry that included set design, lighting, video, creative antics/choreography, and music that showed her authentic and wide-ranging talent. I’ve seen her a couple of times and this was the best yet. Like a fine wine, that one.

  • Oh my god.

by Sierra on 9/8/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Incredible show. St. Vincent and her band/crew put on an excellent show. Her stage presence, performance, and crowd interaction were all fantastic. I’m running out of good adjectives that can really convey how much I enjoyed the show!

  • She was unbelievable!

  • Great performance, new venue not so good

by DJS on 9/8/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Yves Tumor started with a high energy and not so visible performance - what was with all of that fog on stage - anyway, we have seen Yves Tumor before and just love the music and energy. St. Vincent is one of the best performers out there - the music, stage set, video/ visuals were all great. Anne brought some personal banter to the crowd talking about her days at Berklee College of Music which was fun - she laughed and was surprised that her audience was older than she expected. The MGM Fenway venue on the other hand isn't our favorite. There are no restrooms on the first floor - so, if you have tickets on the floor you need to go the second floor for restrooms which is so odd. Once you are there, there are not enough fixtures even in the men's room. The merch is set up over by the stair, and guess what, the merch line actually goes UP the stair because it appears to have been an afterthought and they didn't expect fans to gather prior to and after the show in high numbers. We have seen about 8 shows so far at MGM and have been on the floor and up in the seats and in all cases the sound is not great given that this is a new venue. Site lines are good and seem to have been the priority. Drink prices are high, even for the Boston area compared to other venues.

  • Wicked show

by chewie on 8/23/24Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

St. Vincent crushed it. Heavy and soft in all the right places. Loved the concert.
