    Great Show, Great Music

by J. F. on 6/5/23The Overton Park Shell - Memphis

Overton Shell is a beautiful venue and the Squirrel Nut Zippers put on a fantastic show. Their music is fun to listen to, but they engaged the audience until the whole place was involved. However, don't let the showmanship distract you from their music. Those cats can play!

    Diappointment

Extremely muddled performance with horrible unbalanced sound. No changes of pace and poor communication.

    Wildly exceeded expectations!

by Kevin S on 2/12/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

This show was unbelievable! What amazing talent! I don't know what was better - Their musicianship with the multiple instruments they played, or their extremely strong vocals. I used to play their CD's years ago and always wanted to see them, but I had no idea they would be this good. Ultra high energy! I would definitely see them again!

Best show I’ve seen in 25 years

by Morgan on 2/12/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

I honestly thought the squirrel nut zippers would be awesome, but they far far far exceeded my expectations. One of the best shows I’ve seen in my life. I’ll definitely see them again!

    Amazing energy!

by Julie B on 2/12/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

The Parker Playhouse is so beautiful! Everyone working there was super friendly. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band was the perfect band to open for the Squirrel Nut Zippers. The show was super charged with energy. I’ve been to a lot of concerts and this show was the best one so far!!!

    NOISE!

by DermDoc on 2/12/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

My Squirrel Nut Zippers CDs are a great sound—audible words, all instruments in balance. Live concert was a cacophony: all sounds blasted into one amorphous noise. Maybe the acoustics contributed to the din, but the performance was terribly frustrating and a major disappointment.

    All shtick

by Reggier on 2/12/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

I love the squirrel nut zippers albums, especially their takes on swing. This show was loud and theatrical, but ultimately boring. I did not go to see them try to be sexy ( they aren’t), doing splits and smirks, basically doing a series of novelty songs with little of true musical interest. We left after about 45 minutes. What’s a shame is that the opening act, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, was fantastic. We would gladly have danced to them all evening!

High energy and people literally dancing in the aisles!

by Carli on 2/12/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

The opening band was not really our thing, so we waited in the lobby where the sound was a little better. But once the Squirrel Nut Zippers were on the stage to a house that was packed, the energy rose. Couples were literally dancing in the aisles and this theater has enough space to stand and dance a little in front of your own seat. I hadn't seen the Zippers in years, but I'm SO GLAD I saw this show. Worth every penny!!

    Nice venue with amazing musicians

by Vanessa on 2/12/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

I love the SNZ! Although they are not all originals members, the music speaks for itself. These are a bunch of talented and fun musicians. A great show and sound. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band were also great.

    Incredible

by tannermar on 2/12/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

The energy was unmatched by any performance I have ever seen. The Dirty Dozen are among the most talented musicians I have ever crossed and the squirrel nut zipper's feel and talent is insane. I met Bimbo Mathus afterward which was also a serene experience. Thank you to both bands for enriching my night so heavily.

From the moment I walked into the venue the energy was buzzing. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band got everyone moving and the Squirrel Nut Zippers kept the party going. Amazing musicians, excellent talent, and fantastic venue!

    Wonderful evening.

by Tom on 11/7/22The Cabot - Beverly

Always one of the most fantastic, foot tapping, balcony shaking shows.

    Squirrel Nut Zippers

by casual fan on 11/7/22Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

I've listened to the Zippers via CD for years and always thought they would be fun to see live. Boy was I given a treat when I recently caught them at the Bergen PAC. Far exceeded my expectations! I had such a fun night. Great energy, musicianship, showmanship. Glad I finally went.

    Off the charts

by Billy Boy on 11/6/22The Cabot - Beverly

The whole evening was incredible! We got a nice dinner down the street at the organic garden! People were very friendly and no hassles! No security people issues like I’ve had there in the past. Both bands were incredible and sublime! I really appreciate the Cabot Theater it reminds one of my favorite venues for live music! I even bought a T-shirt and a CD!

    Extreme entertainment

by TheVyv on 11/6/22The Cabot - Beverly

These guys are so ridiculously talented, that it is stones me there were still seats available. Also, so much humor integrated into the show. Wildly entertaining.

    Disappointing

by MusicGuy on 11/6/22The Cabot - Beverly

I had never heard SNZ but love the sort of music they play. I listened to a few recordings and liked those. I heard them in the Cabot Theater in Beverly, MA. They are obviously very skilled musicians but they sounded awful. I don’t know if the problem was the room, sound guy, both, or what. I heard very few song lyrics and way too much bass and drums It all just sounded like noisy mud. They make great effort to jump around and be entertaining but that doesn’t make up for the sloppy sound. I have to admit, we were surrounded by adoring fans who couldn’t get enough. We couldn’t wait for it to be over. I wonder if I would like them in a larger ir different venue.

    SNZ opened by DDBB

by gail on 11/6/22The Cabot - Beverly

Dirty Dozen Brass Band opened for Squirrel Nut Zippers, and their vocalist demanded early in their set that the audience get on their feet. I guess they're not used to us staid New Englanders, coming from NOLA. And they did get us up, dancing and singing along. After an intermission, it felt like the audience energy had been deflated, and SQZ had to work to get it back up, which they did very well, but I have to say that I prefer a show of just SNZ, and I want the finale conga line back. Please!

    Rock-A-Billy Swing on Steroids!

by Voodoo Daddy on 11/5/22Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

What an amazing show! Nine talented artists performing their hearts out for only 1/3 of the theater's tickets sold. But they gave a show strong enough to fill an arena! Highly recommend!

    The Zippers never disappoint!

by Allen B. on 11/5/22Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

This is our fifth time seeing the Squirrel Nut Zippers in concert, and as always, they put on a phenomenal show. This is also our first time seeing the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and we were hooked immediately. Two great, high-energy acts made for a spectacular evening.
