Even with different members, they still keep up the same fascinating mix of dixieland jazz, swing, and their own creative music, and they are all talented musicians. See them if you can!
Worth the walk
by Chris on 10/24/25Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5I went to see the Squirrel Nut Zippers at the Birchmere Music Hall in Alexandria VA. I had a 25 minute walk from the metro to the venue. It was so worth it! Not a bad seat in the house. Really great food (I had the stroganoff), while I waited for the show to start. And once the Zippers came out, it was fantastic. I am a little biased as I have loved the Squirrel Nut Zippers since the day I saw them perform for the first time at the old RFK parking lot at the HFSestival back in 1998. Treat yourself to a toe tapping, palm slapping time if they come to a venue near you.

Definitely the most dynamic and entertaining concert I have ever seen, from a band of consummate professionals who have a fun and irreverent edge to their magnificence!

Squirrel Nut Zippers did not disappoint! Every minute they were on stage was engaging, energetic, upbeat, and just plain FUN. It was obvious that they truly enjoyed what they were doing up there, which always adds to the captivation of the audience. We'll be watching for their next time in the area, so we can bring some friends to enjoy the show with us.
