About

Squeeze, led by the songwriting duo of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, produced some of the catchiest songs from the ‘70s British new wave scene. The band’s 1978 self-titled debut and follow-up albums Cool for Cats (1979) and Argybargy (1980) produced a number of hits in the U.K., with a few receiving airplay on U.S. college radio, including “Take Me I'm Yours,” “Up the Junction” and the bouncy “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell).” In 1981, Squeeze released their fourth studio album East Side Story, featuring “Tempted.” The song went on to become one of the band’s most famous songs. It has been featured in movies, TV shows, video games and commercials.

  • Squeeze was amazing

    by Todd F on 8/30/24Moody Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze was incredible. They played most all of their great songs and sounded as good as ever. The night brought back memories of my college days in the early 80s when I was introduced to Squeeze Singles.

  • Nice show

by ChuckieE on 8/26/24YouTube Theater - InglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

Very nice venue! Sound was loud and a little to much bass for my taste, but the musicians were talented and enthusiastic. Songs sounded different than the album versions, but still good.

  • Squeeze at the YouTube

Great concert and Venue, always enjoy going to the youTube

  • Squeeze an opening act?

    by Nicky G on 8/25/24YouTube Theater - InglewoodRating: 3 out of 5

Squeeze was great. I assumed Boy George would be the opening act and was surprised that Squeeze was already playing at 8:00 when I arrived. The venue, YouTube, theater changed my seats without notice, which made me miss more of Squeeze's performance.

  • Smaller venue

by Shannon on 8/25/24YouTube Theater - InglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

I like them better in a smaller venue. Sound was better. Still great.

  • So much fun!

by Buddalovely on 8/25/24YouTube Theater - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze was Awesome. Their music was really good live. I really enjoyed how they remixed some of their songs….like Pulling Mussels from a Shell. Would love to see them again!😍

  • Perfection!

by Lovelyrita on 8/25/24YouTube Theater - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze is the tightest band this side of the Wrecking Crew. In addition to Glen's brilliant lead guitar playing and Chris's driving rhythm guitar, they featured an energetic, multiinstrumental keyboard player blowing the roof off of the YouTube arena with piano, organ, and accordion riffs. The drummer covered the driving and varying rhythms of Squeeze's unique song catelogue with precision and flare. The percussionist added depth and melodic rhythms on his bongos and with his high harmonies on vocals. The talented bass player was in synch with the amazing rhythm section. Chris and Glen's unique blend of high-low vocals along with harmonies provided by members of the group were perfection. And the anchor of all is the unique and continued superlative song writing of Chris DIfford and Glen Tilbrook. Squeeze filled every second of their performance with nothing short of perfection. Why is this band NOT in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame???

  • Squeeze never disappoints

    by A. Mac on 8/25/24Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

I have been going to see Squeeze since my first show in 1981 and they are always rock solid. They played all of my favorite classics & the new tunes held their own. The Oakland Fox Theater was built for the Squeeze - perfection.

  • Still go it!

by KP on 8/25/24YouTube Theater - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze played all the hits and sounded amazing. It is hard to believe they have been singing these songs for over 50 years. The vocals were on point and the band sounded amazing. I would definitely recommend seeing them to any fan. And the Youtune theater is a fabulous venue.

  • Super fun show!

  • A Fun Show With Squeeze

by greyeyegoddess on 8/21/24Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

I'm not a big fan of Squeeze, but one of my most favorite songs ever, was released by them: Hourglass. Their performance was just fun and, for lack of better words, rockin'! They are real musicians who can jam and play and perform. What a fantastic performance. I knew it was going to be good, but I didn't realize that it was going to be a memorable night of music. I was a little late to their set, so I don't even know if they played Hourglass. But they played all their other hits, Black Coffee in Bed, Cool For Cats, Tempted, and others, and introduced us to some beautiful new songs. I think I am a fan now. Their show even encouraged me to buy a concert shirt, which I never do because I don't wear tshirts. I usually buy other things to use. I would highly recommend seeing them, just for a wonderful performance that will get you off of your chair and singing along.

  • Awesome band

by Kay on 8/20/24Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn’t familiar with Squeeze but OMG they blew me away with their songs and awesome energy. Amazing musicians- guitar playing- I am an official FAN and can’t believe I missed out all these years!

  • Pure Pop Deliciousness!

by SaraR on 8/20/24Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze is celebrating 50 (!) years, and clearly the years have produced some great tunes. Very much a greatest hits tour, with 3 new songs that fit into the set very well. The band is tight, the vocals are strong. It was a delight to see them again. For me it's been over a decade since seeing them last. My friend and I had seen Difford and Tilbrook in 1984 and I wish I still had that tshirt. I wish I still fit in that tshirt. Bottom line, great band, great show. Always a treat to see this band live and I hope to get another opportunity to do so very soon! Every song is a banger!

  • Fabuloujs Show

by John Lopez on 8/20/24Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Admitted Squeeze fan for 50+years, but they still have it. Amazing that 70 year + year old guys can rock it hard. Chris and Glen were spectacular as was the rest of the band. They started shot out of a cannon, didn't slowed down and finished strong, without any dead spots. Best show I've seen in a long long time. Had VIP status which was great. Boy George was super also, everything expected, but I was there for Squeeze.

  • Excellent Show by Squeeze

    by Marc S on 8/20/24Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing Squeeze live and they sounded great. They played all of their hits as well as some new songs.

  • Squeeze was awesome, Boy George was the opposite of awesome

by Stevied on 8/20/24Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

4 of us went. We were kind of baffled that Squeeze opened Sat night for Boy George. We learned of the co-headlining deal at the concert. They rotate. 2 of us were into Boy George and 2 were Squeeze fans. At the end of the concert, the big Boy George fan turned to me and said he really sucked. It was unanimous from us. I was the easiest and just described him as flat at best. It was like a bad Las Vegas show. Band looked miserable, didn't play all the best songs…It is clear these are not on par acts at all. This is not Culture Club with Squeeze. Very disappointed to have that be the end. Squeeze on the other hand was a very tough act to follow. I saw them in 1991 and 1999 and they have not lost a step. I think just 3 original members and several who joined in 2007 give them consistency. New keyboardist replacing Jules Holland is great. What musicianship from them all. And they player all their great songs! We loved it!

  • Late Start, Incredible Finish

by Shap on 8/18/24Marymoor Live - Presented By Toyota - RedmondRating: 4 out of 5

Marymoor Park Rocks, Boy George a charm ! Squeeze impeccable! A chill vibe for sure. Hats off to all the fans who arrived at advertised time of 5:30 pm. Boy George and his band of merry musicians finally graced us at 6:45 pm. A no-no.. All is forgiven. So grateful to Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford for their magical talents and keeping it real.
