About

Squeeze, led by the songwriting duo of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, produced some of the catchiest songs from the ‘70s British new wave scene. The band’s 1978 self-titled debut and follow-up albums Cool for Cats (1979) and Argybargy (1980) produced a number of hits in the U.K., with a few receiving airplay on U.S. college radio, including “Take Me I'm Yours,” “Up the Junction” and the bouncy “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell).” In 1981, Squeeze released their fourth studio album East Side Story, featuring “Tempted.” The song went on to become one of the band’s most famous songs. It has been featured in movies, TV shows, video games and commercials.

  • Acoustic Squeeze...as great show

by Spazoo on 12/15/15The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Difford and Tilbrook sound as great as they ever did. They are awesome entertainers, very engaging with the audience and giving us all the stuff we wanted to hear. The new stuff sounds great. I'm hoping this is the warm up to a full Squeeze tour but I was not disappointed at all to see these two perform acoustically. It was magical!

The creative force behind Squeeze, Glen Tilbrook and Chris Difford put on a really good show. Both were in great voice, and Glenn proved he is one of the most overlooked lead guitarists in rock music. It may make you long to hear the whole band together, but I recommend the show highly! As for the Paramount Theater....great venue, but the bars at either side of the floor make for a noisy environment. Be warned, at an acoustic event such as this it was very distracting and annoying. I would suggest anyone not interested in hearing the music might try drinking in one of Huntington's 100 bars!!

  • Squeeze Acoustic

by BigSqueezeFan on 12/15/15The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 1 out of 5

Awful. They should have called it the, "Too Cheap to Hire Any Other Musicians" tour. Or the "We Need The Money So Desperately We're Not Sharing It With Anyone" tour. I love these guys and was excited by the acoustic format. But to pull this off you have to be accomplished musicians. Which, let's face it: they're not. Great songwriters but not strong enough musically to rely on just themselves. Hence, some songs dragged while others had tempo problems. You couldn't hire a rhythm section? All it takes is a string bass and a drum kit and you're still acoustic. Just a boring show which relied on nostalgia more than musicianship.

  • Musical Poets

    by Bunky71 on 12/15/15The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze has always been my favorite group, ever since I first heard them in the late 70's. I love the way their music and lyrics tell stories of typical occurences and moments in people's lives that seem simple and everyday. Through the years Chris Difford and Glenn Tibrook t have remained as talented and excellent as they were in the beginning of their careers. The "At Odds Couple" was an acoustic concert, which highlighted the talent of these two men. The concert was fantastic--their voices perfection, Glenn Tibrook's guitar solos fantastic. They played new songs from their latest CD "Cradle to the Grave" but also the better-known favorites. What was great was that they also played some of the more obscure tunes which I (as a regular Squeeze concert-goer) don't often hear, such as "Electric Trains" and "Some Fantastic Place." The concert was fantastic--a don't-miss in every way.

  • Amazing Time!

by SukiLuca on 12/14/15The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I had such a great time at this show - it was a million times better than I even could have expected! Chris and Glenn played all of the Squeeze hits (and their voices sound exactly the same as they did back when these songs first were popular), and were also hilarious in their storytelling in between songs. They truly seemed to be having such a great time up on stage, and that was contagious. I've seen hundreds of shows in my life, but this one stands out as being one of the very best.

  • Firmly "Squeezed"...!!!

    by Squeeze21 on 12/13/15The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Talk about bang for your buck! That was the purest form of Entertainment I've been witness to in years. The cheek of these two! And the voices that still hit every note, too. And the guitar playing? I was so totally blown away. Thank you, gentlemen, for a night well spent and more than worth the 1-1/2 hr drive. And what great sound work, too. Cheers! Go, enjoy a show near you!!!

  • Awesome show!

by klaatuDavid on 12/13/15The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The at odds couple show with just Chris and Glenn was absolutely amazing. They played a bunch of old his, deep tracks, new tracks, chatted with the audience, and overall had a great time on stage and it came across to the audience wonderfully. Their voices are amazing, the guitar playing wonderful, and Glenn's diversions to keyboard and ukulele were fantastic as well. They sold recordings of the show at their merchandise table and it was the actual show from that night. The discs sound awesome. And for those going to the show, they do a free meet and greet after the show, so stick around.

They were awesome pleasantly surprised how great they sounded being acoustic !

  • Excellent value, great seats!

Such a great show! So glad we went. Great acoustics, perfect for this group.

  • They are timeless and sounded fantastic!

by JezzyBJ on 12/13/15The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! They sounded as good as they did in the 80s. Funny smart engaging. Their voices and musicianship have not skipped a beat. From their new stuff to the classics they rocked the Wilbur and didn't miss a beat. If I didn't love them I'd love them! They can pull mussels from shells just like they did 30 years ago. So glad I didn't miss it.

  • Still sound great after all these years!

by borty on 12/13/15The Wilbur - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Fantastic acoustic set by the dynamic duo of Chris Difford and Glen Tilbrook who apparently have not played Boston in 20 years (I saw them then too!). Packed house and everyone had smiles on their faces!

  • Amazing Show

by BoSmithHOP on 12/13/15The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

These gentlemen know how to put on a fantastic show. Great musicianship, warmth and it doesn't hurt that they have an endless supply of top notch songs.

  • Fun with The Odd Couple

by Maneiac on 12/13/15The Wilbur - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

I have so many memories of their songs and the times I had while listening to them. This night brought them all back. A wonderful and personal show.

  • Wonderful sing-along

    by LongTimeDylanFan01701 on 12/13/15The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was perfect about this show. Format, set list, etc. I think all thousand people in the audience knew all the words and sang along a lot of the time. This concert let you connect with the band and your fellow fans.

  • Wow was I surprised

by Marcifc on 12/13/15The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I went with my husband dragging me heels and was blow away by how much fun I had and how great they sounded. What a terrific evening.

  • The fellas of Squeeze gave us a fabulous show!

by Heycoombsie on 12/12/15Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

I've loved Squeeze for 20 years, but haven't ever been able to see them live, so I was super psyched to finally make it to one of their shows. They didn't disappoint! They played two sets of about an hour a piece, plus an encore, with a mix of old faves and stuff from their new album. They both sounded great and handled the Q&A parts of the show with loads of humor and appreciation. They recorded the show, which you were able to buy at the end, which was cool. Glenn and Chris also hung around afterwards to give a quick autograph and say hi. I loved the acoustic vibe, which made me even more excited to see the full band sometime down the road. Definitely worth my 3 hour drive...if you're a Sqeeze fan and they head to your area, it's a definite must-see.

  • Absolutely perfect!

by squeezekeys on 12/9/15The Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

This show was fabulous. The only complaint I have is that it just went by so fast!!! It was a totally engaging and fun experience, not to mention that Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford are sooooo talented. Glenn's guitar and keyboards, as well as his voice, were simply sublime, as always. Wish I could see them at every performance in the tour! The other thing that is so great is that the audience can buy a cd of that night's performance right after the show...and the sound is just fantastic. What a great memento of a terrific evening.

  • Difford and Tillbrook

by BDDon on 12/9/15Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

One of the most enjoyable concerts and evenings I've had. A must for fans of these two prolific artists! Scottish Rite Theatre in Collingswood was a previously undiscovered gem. Find a show to see there.

  • Squeeze is awesome

by Tyarna on 12/8/15Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

This was so amazing and intimate! Loved the venue. Loved the "man in the gold cape"! I would recommend this event to all squeeze fans.

  • Uniquely Difford and Tilbrook !

by Neededsomethingdifferent on 12/8/15Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

The Scottish Rite Auditorium provided a perfect venue to allow the audience to experience the synergy between Difford and Tilbrook's personalities and musical talents. They actually had 2 sessions of questions and answers with the audience. A very memorable show!
