Squeeze, led by the songwriting duo of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, produced some of the catchiest songs from the ‘70s British new wave scene. The band’s 1978 self-titled debut and follow-up albums Cool for Cats (1979) and Argybargy (1980) produced a number of hits in the U.K., with a few receiving airplay on U.S. college radio, including “Take Me I'm Yours,” “Up the Junction” and the bouncy “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell).” In 1981, Squeeze released their fourth studio album East Side Story, featuring “Tempted.” The song went on to become one of the band’s most famous songs. It has been featured in movies, TV shows, video games and commercials.

Some observations: Refreshment were way overpriced, but kind of expected that. Sound was way too loud and muddy for most of the performances. Strobe light warnings were posted on the doors … again, expected that. Lighting should be ON THE PERFORMERS, NOT REPEATEDLY SHONE ON THE AUDIENCE! This detracted greatly from the enjoyment of the concert!
They sounded so good. Saw them 35+ years ago so my expectations were not high. They wowed me. The voices, the energy, the talent all still there!! So impressive. I think they ended with ‘ black coffee in bed’ Then, too
Amazing!! The music had the crowd energized. Hadn’t seen Squeeze in a while and forgot how great they are!!
The Wang was easy to navigate and get drinks. The performances of both Boy George and especially Squeeze were well done and very entertaining - an overall fun night and great concert experience.
I first saw Squeeze at the Metro in Boston in 1981. Since then I’ve seen them about 40 times at various venues from Boston to Florida. I’m a fan. This may have been their best performance that I’ve seen over the last 43 years.
Great time. The venue was really something. We were up in the balcony, but the view was still amazing.
Squeeze was great! And we were so happy that Boy George decided to come and entertain the colonies. But the venue stunk. No one could take even a single photo without be jumped on by staff. And yet there are many fan videos of both bands without copyright strikes on YouTube. My advice: Don't ever go to Boch. Expensive tickets and not allowed to take a memory of the event.
Squeeze was fantastic! They haven’t missed a beat in all these years!!
On the good side, the band member voices are still good, they had good energy and the audience enjoyed them. The downside is that they were generally too loud and the instruments were too loud in relationship to the singers voices, which should be the highlight of their songs.
Such an amazing energy! Can't wait for next year!
AMAZING SHOW by both bands. Both sound better than ln they ever have. venue was great except for the poor security that had to enforce the no photo/video clause made by both bands. Would be nice to have known prior to event or be given those lock bags. it was very distracting watching the show and having security running around like madmen.
This band still has their A-Game. Great set list, vocals and instrumentation were excellent. High energy and they moved quickly from one great song to the next. Only issue was the venue sound system, a little muddy on the midrange. This was really evident with the opening act Boy George, he was fun but his banter was unintelligible.
The opener, Boy George, WAY overstayed his welcome. His performance was just okay...would've been better limiting it to 5 or 6 songs. His cover of "Bang a Gong (Get It On)"was the highlight. Now on to Squeeze, who were fantastic...except for the distortion of the sound (impacting lead vocals, mainly) that filtered up to the balcony. The musicians didn't seem to notice it, though. High energy performance...I wish they had been allowed to come on stage sooner & played longer!
Chicago Theater... 2024 What a show.. spot on.. I love these guys... What memories.. Please come back to Chi Town ASAP. 🎵🎵🎵
I was there to see Boy George. Squeeze was good. I enjoyed them
Squeeze put on a fabulous show!! They played all of my favorites, plus a couple that were new to me, and equally enjoyable. The individual band members were all fantastic, so talented!! Glenn’s voice sounds just as I remember it from the original recordings in the 1970s/80s! I’ve always loved his voice. There’s a very unique quality to it. The concert was a wonderful experience for my husband, myself, and our grown children and son in law!
This was a great show; lots of energy! Enjoyed and would go again
The BEST concert I have seen in years! Everything I expected from this group. The music sounds the same, and better, like back in the eighties. The new music is refreshing and I look forward to their new album. Squeeze is worth while seeing!
Two headliners at one show!! Like fine wine, Squeeze and the English Beat get better with age!! I never get tired of seeing these two bands after seeing both of them many times at different venues.
