About

Squeeze, led by the songwriting duo of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, produced some of the catchiest songs from the ‘70s British new wave scene. The band’s 1978 self-titled debut and follow-up albums Cool for Cats (1979) and Argybargy (1980) produced a number of hits in the U.K., with a few receiving airplay on U.S. college radio, including “Take Me I'm Yours,” “Up the Junction” and the bouncy “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell).” In 1981, Squeeze released their fourth studio album East Side Story, featuring “Tempted.” The song went on to become one of the band’s most famous songs. It has been featured in movies, TV shows, video games and commercials.

  • Incredible !!!

by Anonymous on 11/18/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

The Show was Fantastic!!! I had a ball. I was told you couldn’t take pictures or video of the concert but was offered to buy the DVD of that very performance in which I did. I was so happy because the show was great!!! But when I got home and tried to play the DVD it’s only played audio not video so I have to find out how to get the DVD video in which I paid for. Other than that I really enjoyed myself!!

  • Excellent show!

by JokerNich on 11/18/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Band sounded great, vocals haven't changed a bit since the 80s heyday. Played a ton of hits.

  • Squeeze was so much fun!

    by CarolinaGirl26 on 11/18/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

What a fabulous show! Glenn Tillbrook's voice is as good as it was when Squeeze first came on the scene. He and Chris Difford (the two remaining original members of the group) played and sang beautifully and with joy. The other band members are incredibly talented musicians. They played a great mix of new songs (which were great) and their old hits (which are still so much fun to hear.) If you were a Squeeze fan in the 1980s, you won't be disappointed with this show!

  • Great show but we were forced to leave early. :(

by Sizza on 11/18/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

They were great. Their playing was excellent, vocals were good and they don't waste time with chatter between songs. We enjoyed hearing all the hits as well as some of their new music and their background video screens were interesting. My only and biggest complaint was the sheer ear hemorrhaging volume of the show. We saw them in the Carolina Theater in Durham, a relatively small venue in terms of square footage. The volume went to eleven- loud to the point of distortion with a couple of episodes of feedback from the PA system. I spent a great deal of my time with my fingers in my ears and only then could I differentiate between instruments and vocals in the general roar coming from the speakers. If you are going to see Squeeze, definitely bring a good pair of ear plugs. We left after they played Tempted, which was probably near the end anyway. My ears continued to ring throughout the next day. I do understand that a rock band is going to be loud, but this was way over the top.

  • Squeeze Goes Above and Beyond

    by SRG408 on 11/18/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze greatly exceeded my expectations. Even though I love the band and had seen them years ago, I didn’t necessarily expect a show of this intensity and quality. I’ve seen tons of shows in my life and this one goes in the top 10. Stunning.

  • Great popular tunes from the 80s

    by Sandyski0330 on 11/18/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

Really loved to see this concert at the Carolina Theatre it’s a small venue not a bad seat in the house great sound friendly staff concessions on each level will definitely be back.

  • Great Concert!!

    by LIFAN12 on 11/18/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Played all their hits for nearly two hours!! The band is still in fine form and the audience had a blast.

  • Awesome energy!

by SolsticeBaby on 11/18/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

We had a blast! Squeeze is a seriously tight band! They played all their hits plus several really great new songs.

  • Squeeze was better than ever!

by Persgirl on 11/18/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

I was blown away with how good they still sounded and what great musicians they are! It was a wonderful, fun show!!!

  • Much too LOUD, ruined concert. Sound check anyone?

by BOOMROOM on 11/18/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 1 out of 5

Squeeze is one of my favorite bands of all time and I was very much looking forward to this show. The opening act was solo acoustic and was very good. When Squeeze took the stage, the sound system was cranked so high it almost made my ears bleed. This is the kind of setup you would expect for a heavy metal band in a stadium, not a supposedly more intimate theater like the Carolina. Throw in a non stop smoke machine, three video screens and a light show which included blinding white light shot into the eyes of the audience, and this is a painful experience. We had to leave after about 5 songs, extremely disappointed. Did anyone do a sound check before the show???? Squeeze is known for excellent song writing on par with the best ever in rock and pop music- sometimes clever and subtle, sometimes gut wrenching and all out rockin’. Glenn Tillbrook is an unbelievably great guitarist and could probably hold his own just on his instrument in any other pop/rock band there ever was or is. You will miss all of that at this show. If you want to save some money, put your favorite Squeeze songs on the most powerful sound system you own, turn it up to “eleven” and sit with your ears no more than an inch from the speakers, then occasionly shine a flashlight directly into your eyes. Continue for an hour and a half, and you will have the experience of this show without an empty wallet.

  • Excellent show!

by SonOfSchlitzie on 11/17/17Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

A nice mix of new tracks and classic cuts by a band that still sounds amazing! They can't come back to Atlanta soon enough!

  • Reliving College with Squeeze

    by MEC25 on 11/17/17Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

A great band at a great venue equals a fun night. Squeeze was great!! Will return to the venue to see more shows.

  • Squeeze Sounds Exactly The Same!

    by Meyers315 on 11/17/17Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze puts on quite the entertaining show! Their voices and musicianship are top notch! This is not a band that phones it in. The back screen images are interesting (LOVE the way the show opens with the Google screen) and they really seem to enjoy their job! All the songs sounded wonderful - it was a really good concert and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! So glad they came to Atlanta!

  • Squeeze killed it!

by JacobsMommy on 11/17/17Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Great show - sounded great, band was having so much fun, played for two hours, can't say enough good things. Cool venue - super friendly staff, laid back, plenty of air in the front row

  • Squeeze crushed it

    by TheBard89 on 11/17/17Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show. Vocals sounded as good today as back in the day. The band/musicians were excellent. Really fun show, the band had a good time together and looked like they were having fun. I'm glad I got to see these guys.

  • The one and only SQUEEZE!!!

    by GHS82 on 11/17/17Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, fantastic show. The last time I saw Squeeze was over 25 years ago and they've still got it. I think I enjoyed this show more than the last time I saw them (and I loved the last time I saw them). The band sounded great. Excellent mix between their old and new stuff. I don't know who was having a better time...the audience or the band. Everybody was really in to it. If you are fortunate enough, don't miss the chance to see them. You won't be disappointed.

  • Best show in years

by RockinAtlanta on 11/17/17Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Their energy and musicianship is amazing. This was my first Squeeze concert but at least my 100th rock show and it was in the top 10%.

  • Great Band/Great Concert

by BKLaw on 11/17/17Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze (Difford and Tilbrook) are still on the top of their game. The best song writing duo since Lennon and McCartney. Glen Tilbrook has to be the most under rated guitar player in history. The supporting members are outstanding. Fun show and highly recommended.

  • Love me some SQUEEZE!

by LDBGA on 11/17/17Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

What a fun, great, energetic show. Squeeze has so many great songs that you know by heart, fantastic best and amazing lyrics. They rocked the Buckhead Theater! This was top best show I've seen this year! Fun fun fun!

  • Squeeze and The English Beat at The Paramount

by Sandovac on 11/3/16The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic, intimate, and one of the best concerts I've seen in a long time! The venue was small that allowed us to get close to the groups and the music was of course, great! I would highly go back to The Paramount for other concerns.
