About

Squeeze, led by the songwriting duo of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, produced some of the catchiest songs from the ‘70s British new wave scene. The band’s 1978 self-titled debut and follow-up albums Cool for Cats (1979) and Argybargy (1980) produced a number of hits in the U.K., with a few receiving airplay on U.S. college radio, including “Take Me I'm Yours,” “Up the Junction” and the bouncy “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell).” In 1981, Squeeze released their fourth studio album East Side Story, featuring “Tempted.” The song went on to become one of the band’s most famous songs. It has been featured in movies, TV shows, video games and commercials.

  • Squeeze --- I wanna go again.

by Hoznoz on 11/24/17The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

As soon as the lights went down I felt a rush I haven't felt in a long time. Plenty of songs from there new album the knowledge which sounds better every time I listen to it. The place really got rockin when they played my all time favorite song "Cool for Cats". They are so inventive. The version of "Take me I'm yours" has to be seen. They all lined up in a row. Go to you tube to witness this it's there. I can't get enough of them. I hadn't seen them in 35 years. I hope they come back soon or maybe I'll add going to england to my bucket list.

  • Depressing

    by Sweener24 on 11/24/17The Wilbur - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

The opening act wasnan hour and was as depressing as it gets. Then Squeeze comes on and it took another 75 minutes for them to play music that people were there to hear. The band was good but the music was sub par. Would rather have been watching Squeeze videos on YouTube.

  • Rocking!

by Davdee on 11/24/17The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Our first time seeing Squeeze live ... and they were awesome. Live versions were rocking and the band is so very tight. Stay to the end and especially the groove during the encore!

  • Great Show !!!

by VideoSteve on 11/23/17Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze was exactly as I Remembered them....They are A Great Live Band !!!

  • Non-Stop Fun!

by DocRobert on 11/23/17Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze = a very professional, talented, fun band! They played non-stop, one song into the next. All 12 songs off the Squeeze "Singles" album were performed. Love the vocal blend of Difford/Tillbrook: the Squeeze signature sound! The back-up band was energetic, very tight. Top 3 moments: "Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)" "Hourglass" & "Annie Get Your Gun." My only complaint was the up tempo quarter note pulse played throughout the entire song on "Black Coffee in Bed"...changed the vibe/feel completely. Love Tillbrook's voice & his guitar playing is top-notch!

  • Sound Mixing Was So Awful...

by MattyLanning on 11/22/17Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

...that it negatively impacted my overall experience, along with the fact that I felt the band was phoning it in. I have nothing to compare my experience with in terms of never having seen squeeze in their heydey.

  • Squeeze was A++ and they play ALL of their hits

    by JoeMama4444 on 11/22/17Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze is fantastic, such a great show - flawless. You don't go home saying "I wish they played that song" because they mix in new songs, which are great, with all of the hits that you want to hear.

  • Band Great, the Sound was Terrible!

    by karma11 on 11/22/17Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

I love Squeeze and their playing and voices were all I could ask. However, the concert was not good, and that's simply because the sound was awful. I don't know if it was the bands road crew, or the sound staff at the Beacon, but the sound was so bad in the lower balcony people were complaining. The bass was WAY too loud and not clean. The bass drum the same. Vocals, keys, and especially Tilbrook's guitar, were way too low. The mix was just awful. I saw the Band earlier this year in New Jersey, and they were brilliant. However, the sound just killed it for anybody in the balcony.

  • Squeeze is the Best!

by NYSqueezeFan on 11/22/17Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

What a treat to see Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook sing their new songs and their hits from the 70s and 80s. These guys are amazing songwriters and tremendous performers. The current line up really rocks!

  • Great musicians, one star docked for volume

by Ennienyc on 11/22/17Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

I love Squeeze and their music did not disappoint. Glenn's voice and guitar were stellar and all the band displayed musical chops. The set list included everything on the Singles album, new material (which was good), and a few other cuts. I would have preferred more deep cuts (the only one was Simple and Cruel), but understand that many fans want to hear the hits. Maybe ditch the opening act (he was fine, but I was there for Squeeze) to make more room. There is a huge "But" to the positivity: the insanely loud sound. Even the opening guy-and-guitar were too loud, though tolerable. However, when Squeeze took the stage the volume went up even more. Ouch! I came prepared with earplugs, and in they went. That did help. I can't fathom why anyone likes such blasting sound, unless they're already half-deaf from previous loud concerts.

  • Still amazing

by CindyNYC on 11/22/17Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze didn’t disappoint — Difford and Tillbrook (along with some younger musicians) still can sing like its 1981. They played the classics mixed with some of their newer songs. The audience loved the older tunes and the encore of Black Coffee in Bed was outstanding.

  • Main Squeeze

Excellent mix of new songs with most of the best singles. Catch them when you can.

  • Squeeze at the Beacon Theater, NYC

Squeeze has a special relationship with NYC. With professional grace, their performance was one for the ages.

To have John Wesley Harding opening was a delight. Wesley Stace is a treasure. His personality shines through his storytelling and lyrics.

  • Squeeze sounded great

    by chazman09 on 11/22/17Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

I thought Squeeze sounded great and the vocals were really good as well my only comment is it depends which night you see as it is the same songs in the set list every night just the order changes so it can be an up an down ride the show does not build to a conclusion at every show

  • Squeeze was fantastic

    by MDM9 on 11/21/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

What a great concert. Squeeze mixed new with old and gave a show that did not disappoint! Go see them if you have a chance.

  • Squeeze was awesome!

    by Inmymind77 on 11/20/17Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Great to see Squeeze for the very first time! They sounded amazing! They played so many hits along with their new songs, so it was a great mix. They were fun and you could tell they enjoyed the show themselves and weren't just going through the motions. Show was standing only, but from where we stood, we could see the stage extremely well. Drinks were great, just expensive!

  • Incredible

by BubbleandSqueak on 11/19/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze were amazing, they sounded exactly the same as they did 25 years ago, it was a very energetic concert, they played for a couple hours and included almost every song I love. Their new music continues to put them well above the generic cookie cutter music out these days, My only regret is that they didn't pay Labelled with Love, otherwise it was an amazingly enjoyable concert.

  • Squeeze Were Stupendous.

by ladcrp on 11/18/17Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

What a superb show. Mr. Tilbrook was in amazing voice and damn can he play the guitar. Setlist was brilliant. Sometimes the sound in the upper balcony can be a bit muddy at the Carolina, but I was on the floor and it was perfect.
