Squeeze, led by the songwriting duo of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, produced some of the catchiest songs from the ‘70s British new wave scene. The band’s 1978 self-titled debut and follow-up albums Cool for Cats (1979) and Argybargy (1980) produced a number of hits in the U.K., with a few receiving airplay on U.S. college radio, including “Take Me I'm Yours,” “Up the Junction” and the bouncy “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell).” In 1981, Squeeze released their fourth studio album East Side Story, featuring “Tempted.” The song went on to become one of the band’s most famous songs. It has been featured in movies, TV shows, video games and commercials.

An absolutely stellar evening with The Psychedelic Furs and Squeeze. Both bands seem to truly enjoy being on stage and their enthusiasm was contagious. It was such fun to sing and dance along to their familiar tunes as well as a few I had not heard before. Would highly recommend the DPAC.
What an amazing show ! It was like going to an 80’s reunion….Both bands played all the hits and sounded just great - well done !
Squeeze killed it at the DPAC Auditorium. Their sound & lights and sheer showmanship was amazing. It was high energy all the way. The vocal harmonies were fabulous. Glen Tilbrook is a monster guitar player and totally shredded his solos. And of course the songs were timeless. Go see them!
Two great bands in a nice venue. All DPAC personnel were super friendly and helpful. First visit would definitely come back.
Squeeze put on an energetic show at the DPAC Tuesday night! Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook rock like time has been staying still. The rest of the band has been together for a good while and they are very tight. Squeeze rocked twelve tunes including a couple newer ones. They had the entire arena dancing and singing along. Glenn showed his guitar chops with fantastic leads. An excellent performance!
I first saw Squeeze in the 80's at the Mann, and they were amazing. Saw them again in 2020 in Hershey, and couldn't believe how good they were after all these years. Their show at the Met Philly was incredible! Glenn and Chris sounded great, the band was tight, and I was up and dancing through the whole show. This show was among the best, most fun concerts I've been to. I hope they come back to the US next year!
The Psychedelic Furs were fantastic and fun. Squeeze was fine but FAR TOO LOUD to be enjoyable.
I’ve never been to that venue. It was a great show. Small and intimate and great sound. Definitely will go see another bend there
All the hits and then some, every song sounding just like you want it to. They don’t disappoint!
Fourth time seeing Squeeze. The band seems to get better at every performance. Great energy and flawless music. Durham Performing Arts Center is a nice venue in a great town. Psychedelic Furs were equally entertaining.
Squeeze continues to be one of the most talented and engaging bands touring. They never disappoint. Chris and Glenn as always are the strong foundation of talent that allows the rest of the band to shine and entertain us. I will always take the opportunity to see them in concert. My youth is there in their songs.
Great concert. The sound at DPAC is fantastic. Super clear. Love Pshch Furs and Squeeze!!!
This show was fantastic! Both bands were great and put on one incredible show. I love that they just played through with out doing the whole leave the stage waiting to come back out for the encore. It is a show you don't want to miss.
I don't recall ever attending a louder concert at DPAC. Starting with the Psychedelic Furs and continuing with Squeeze, the mix seemed designed to emphasize everything equally, and then boost the drums by 20% on top of that. The result was a sonic "wall"that surrendered all subtlety, making it very hard to distinguish one instrument from another--or the vocals from the music. In my opinion, Squeeze is not the kind of band you need to hear at full volume. Still enjoyable, but my ears were ringing a bit for several hours afterward.
Squeeze is an incredible live band, however lesson learned, if attending a Chastain Park concert in atlanta DONT purchase the expensive PIT tickets if you care about sound quality. The best seats for this is 4 rows behind sound tent in OrchC. The pit seating at Chastain has zero monitors focused there and the sound goes over the top of your head leaving phased canceled muffled audio for your 200 dollar seats… i had to leave my seats and ended up camping out in open seats on the side just to hear the correct mix and instruments- the only thing Pit gives you is a better look and stage drum sound… be warned :)
The concert was great. The venue could not read the tickets on my phone and this caused a delay getting to our seats.
Squeeze made audience highly engaged & kept their attention the entire set - hard to do with short attention spans. Loved the focus on talents of each of their instrumentalists and mix of vocalists. My favorite was the keyboardist - mix of Buddy Holly & Jerry Lee Lewis. The stage had great lighting & colors.
Squeeze never lets you down. Always great! Psycadelic Furs were really great too!
I had the pleasure of seeing Squeeze at the Fox theater in 1985. It was an incredible show. Almost 40 years later, and Glenn Tillbrook, and Chris Difford still sound amazing. The show was a little short, as I would liked to have heard some more deep cuts from their albums, but they played all of the songs that they are known for and proved to be dynamic and gracious at the same time. You can tell that Squeeze truly love their fans. I am so glad I was able to see them again. The Psychedelic Furs were a great opening act. You could close your eyes and think you were listening to the albums recorded in the 80's Richard Butler's unique voice is still as strong as ever!
