About

Squeeze, led by the songwriting duo of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, produced some of the catchiest songs from the ‘70s British new wave scene. The band’s 1978 self-titled debut and follow-up albums Cool for Cats (1979) and Argybargy (1980) produced a number of hits in the U.K., with a few receiving airplay on U.S. college radio, including “Take Me I'm Yours,” “Up the Junction” and the bouncy “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell).” In 1981, Squeeze released their fourth studio album East Side Story, featuring “Tempted.” The song went on to become one of the band’s most famous songs. It has been featured in movies, TV shows, video games and commercials.

  • Fantastic show!

by JH on 9/26/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Psychedelic Furs came on first and they sounded great and di a really good set. All their hits, sounded, great, etc. Squeeze then came out and same thing, sounded great, played all their great songs. Overall a really fantastic show!

  • They’ve still got it!

by JSneck on 9/26/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Psychedelic Furs - Richard Butler is better than ever! Haven’t seen a lead singer have that much fun on stage in a while. Voice still sounds incredible! Squeeze - Still put on an incredible show! Great interaction with the audience. This was a show not to be missed! Both bands were amazing! I felt like a kid again! Almost didn’t go after a long day. So glad I did! If they tour again, you can, but I will be there!

  • Great Show, Fabulous!

The venue was AMAZING. Squeeze was fabulous. An intimate setting. Not a bad seat in the house!

  • Fantastic as always!

by Beth on 9/26/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I saw Squeeze earlier this year at Cruel World Fest and most recently in Detroit at the Fillmore on 9/23/23. These guys are absolutely amazing and their sound never falters. They bring a lot of high energy to their shows! I jumped around for no less than 2 hours enjoying these guys!

  • Squeeze

by Jerry on 9/26/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Squeeze was great. Last saw them in the mid 80s and they sounded the same as they did back then. Very upbeat plus knowing 17 of 18 songs definitely makes it even better. Crowd was totally into them. Recommend highly!

  • Amazing, high energy show

by Teri J on 9/26/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Squeeze a handful of times, both with a full band and in acoustic shows. This was the most energizing, exciting show ever. All of the musicians on stage were entertainers, making the whole performance so much fun. And of course, both Difford and Tillbrook were wonderful and sounded great. Highly recommend this show. Oh, and having the Psychedelic Furs as a warm up was pretty sweet.

  • Confused

by Heather A. on 9/26/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

We never in a million years would have thought that The Furs would have been the opening band?!! We missed 1/2 of their set because we wanted to skip Squeeze. So disappointed. Also, all the $$ VIP ticket got us was a coaster, a "VIP"pass that is apparently just decoration and gets you absolutely nowhere special, a Furs water bottle, and a hideous pink back to put it all in. The only positive is that the Furs sounded amazing.

by KSF on 9/26/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

The energy and the musicianship were outstanding! I’m so glad I went. Hourglass was amazing and the crowd participation on Tempted was great. Glenn & Chris sounded great! Would definitely go again if I had the chance!

  • Fabulous!!!!

by Suzi T on 9/26/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

I was a huge Squeeze fan in the 80s. But I never got to see them live. I expected a few musicians and instruments. Wrong! A huge, super talented band. We had so much fun. I didn't want it to end. Squeeze is now on my do not miss list. Thanks guys!!!

  • The Band was like a week oiled machine.

by Steve on 9/26/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing Squeeze this past weekend, at the Fillmore in Detroit, was a trip back to my youth. The sound was incredible the band was fantastic, I was very happy to see the Psychedelic Furs being on the same ticket.

  • Awesome !

by Vern on 9/26/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Squeeze perform several times going back to the early 80s. This time there were some new additions to the band, and this show was exceptional. The show was well rehearsed, tight, smooth, with an almost perfect song set. It was the best performance of the lot for me. Acoustics at the Fillmore is not good, especially the audience chatter in the upper balcony, but the music carried well and overcame it. 5 Stars, come back soon guys...

  • MORT-THE FURS-SQUEEZE

by Mort on 9/26/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Dynamic show in great venue. Always intimate. Love the Fillmore. Not the Grande The Easton or the Michigan Palace but then again what is?:)

  • Squeeze Rocks The Fillmore

by Tim D on 9/26/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Considering the band has been together on and off since the 1970s, they brought 100% of their talent and ability to the stage last Saturday. The staging and production were well prepared. The sound was full and could be easily heard even in the back of the hall. It was easy to know which songs were going to be played. Every song from. 45s and Under was played that night, as well as some choice favorites from other albums. The addition of a percussionist filled out the rhythm section. The chops of the musicians were all well rehearsed. They upstaged The Psychedelic Furs although their fans may feel otherwise. There was a good mix of young and older fans in the audience. My 32-year-old son remembered the music being played in our car and enjoy the show as much as I did. This would be a good tour to see the band.

  • Blown away!

by IndyPat on 9/25/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Although I am much more familiar with the Psychedelic Furs as the opening act, I was completely blown away by Squeeze. We were looking forward to seeing them, knowing several of their songs over the years. I was a fan before, but now I am definitely looking to purchase their cd's. Truly, they put their heart & soul into the performance. It was quite a party too... lot's of singing along, wild cheering. Overall, the facility is great, employees are very polite, helpful & fun to be around. Both bands were EXCELLENT! Looking forward to making the hour+ drive for our next show at Brown County Music Center.

  • Still sounding great after 25 years!

by The Concert Lady on 9/25/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

We saw them at the Brown County Music Center in Nashville Indiana with The Pyschedelic Furs. The Squeeze were the 2nd act. They put on a great show! Glen Tilbrook sounded great and belted out all of our favorite Squeeze hits. They did however speed up Black coffee in bed and really slowed down Tempted, but they still were enjoyable to listen to just the same. The keyboard player was phenomenal!! He was a bonus show to watch as well. Overall a really good show. The Pyschedelic Furs were a bit more engaging with the audience and put on a fantastic show too!

  • Excellent double header

by Ian on 9/25/23Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Great show from Squeeze & the Psychedelic Furs, only wish the Furs had played ‘India’, my favorite song of theirs. The sound & lighting were great, & stage presence of both bands was excellent.

  • Squeeze & Psychedelic Furs
