Jason and All Musicians Were Perfect

by DieselDD on 8/2/10RCMH - New York

If I could, I would have rated this beyond 5 stars. By far the best concert that I have ever attended; by far the best Spiritualized concert ever attended (probably went to around a dozen). LGWFIS was a terrific and critically acclaimed album. This should go down in the books as one of the best concerts ever performed by any artist. It was truly a magical evening with Jason and Spiritualized. If you didn't have tears at times in your eyes you weren't human. Amazing, pure musical genius - absolute perfection. Will be hard to top but I have full faith that Jason Spacement will find somehow to top this.

Great band, great concept, but the wall-of-sound that characterizes portions of "Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating in Space" translated in to 5+ minutes of straight noise when performed live.

    Show was fantastic

by Anonymous on 8/2/10Radio City Music Hall - New York

With a 6 piece horn section, gospel choir & violin section, Spiritualized recreated their album "Ladies & Gentlemen......" in a stunning way. Although the sound was muddy at times, this was a concert not to forget.. The first two songs were resplendent in their glory. The effect of seeing/hearing these openers was simply stunning. Also, "Cop. Shoot, Cop" built to a resounding conclusion of noise, power, and pure rock bliss. Finishing up with the gospel song, "Oh Happy Day" was a fitting closer.

    I'm floating in Space

by Buddha1 on 8/2/10Radio City Music Hall - New York

An incredible recreation of a classic album. 90 minutes of otherworldy music cementing the timelessness of the music. One can only hope for a live DVD/CD!

    Amazingly Spiritual!

by COPPERWHEAT on 8/1/10Radio City Music Hall - New York

Spiritualized were incredible! Anyone who knows the album Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space, would have rushed to buy tickets to this entire performance of this seminal album. The band had a full Orrchestra, Gospel Choir and an incredible light show. The sound was electric!

    Da Bass Da Bass

by FlyerV on 8/1/10Radio City Music Hall - New York

This show at times was truly amazing. There were moments the chorus sounded wonderful and the horn section really added the punch to the performance. Yes ... a string section was on stage too but damn if I could hear a single note they played for most of the show. What could have been a great show but was pretty much ruined by the over bearing bass pumping from the bass guitar drowning out he entire ensemble. You would have thought the sound tech would have picked this up by time they played their 3rd song but no ... all we could hear was boom boom boom .. to the point where it became silly. At about the halfway point thru the performance about 20 or more people in my section got up and left. I stayed and hoped it would improve, unfortunately, it got worse as the band played on. Nearing the shows end the band played (what felt like) 10 minute endings , when the whole thing became unlistenable and all we could do was laugh at the silliness of it all. Dynamics! It's not what you play but what you don't play!! The sound over all was one of the worse I'd ever experienced. and.......Da Bass ........ was truly a comedy.

    GREAT SHOW!

by iHateComcastCenter on 7/31/10Radio City Music Hall - New York

What a great show this was. One of the best I've been to. Not only was the venue nice and seating was good, but it sounded perfect. This is how spiritualized is supposed to be heard. The levels of everything were perfect, you could hear everyone in the choir and orchestra, without drowning out anyone else. The band sounded amazing, truly the way to listen to this band.

    Greatest concert of my life

by Mel2010space on 7/31/10Radio City Music Hall - New York

Choir, orchestra, Spiritualized, Floating In Space, full encore, "Oh Happy Day", Radio City Music Hall New York's classiest venue - this concert was unbelievably amazing beyond all great expectations. It's at the top of my list of greatest concerts of my lifetime.

    Spiritualized was heavenly

by bookjunkie on 7/31/10Radio City Music Hall - New York

Amazing. Every time I see Spiritualized in concert, I realize how suitable the name is for Jason Pierce. They almost blew the house down last night. Out of Sight and Oh Happy Day were deeply emotional and the choir, horn and violin sections were great.

    Special Evening

by sterb on 7/31/10Radio City Music Hall - New York

That's about as "elegant" an indie rock event can be. Really spectacular acoustics and audio quality. Really glad I went

    The sound was messed up!

by Gguyghjufdvjss on 7/31/10Radio City Music Hall - New York

We were on the 1st Mez 1st row and the sound was awful. The bass was overpowered and ruined over half the show. The overall sound levels were deafening and also added to the negative experience. I have been a dedicated fan since the Spacemen 3 days and really was excited for this unique experience. Too bad Jason Pierce's egotistical showmanship and the sound mixing sucked.

    Ok at best

by ProfessorGrif on 7/31/10Radio City Music Hall - New York

Some good, some bad. Overall lacked some energy. The mix was not all that good either but Radio City always makes for a good night.
