    Great Experience!

by GGoblin on 1/7/14Foxwoods Theatre - New York

I brought my 5 year old. I wasn't sure what to expect. It's hard to really do a spider man play because you want to preserve the magic of a flying superhero who shoots webs from his hands and swings on them..but HOW do you do it? This play did an excellent job. You can clearly see the harnesses, ropes, etc but there are many magic moments where you forget that there are supports there at all. My favorite aspects were: The weaving of the giant yellow web in the beginning of the play-that was terrific, the connection with the story of Arachnid, the sets were terrific, and The Green Goblin stole the show!!! We had a great time and my son LOVED it. Criticism: I wondered if they couldn't do a more substantial web effect...but I have no better ideas for it myself. It looked like streamers..my son still loved it when they fell on him aand took some home!

Unfortunately we had to keep changing our tickets, but the show was amazing. I give the actors credit for flying above the people.

    YAWN

by NYC9 on 1/7/14Foxwoods Theatre - New York

There were a few good numbers (singing spider) great sets and lighting but over all flat. I wouldn't recommend to anyone other than parents with children ages 7-15.

    OK

It was cool, but it's for kids. I would consider going to another event if you are not going with your little kids.

    Corny at first but then....

by FAnsInE2003 on 1/7/14Foxwoods Theatre - New York

At first I wasn't entirely into the first few music scenes. The songs weren't bad and the choreography was pretty unique in some spots, but it felt more like High School Musical than Spider-Man. However, as the show went on it became more of what you'd expect from a Spider-man adaptation. It's basically the Spider-Man origin story that has been told in multiple ways being told in musical form. The stunts were amazing to see and they are what make this musical so unique. Given the costs to make this show happen I can definitely understand why this show ultimately had a short run on Broadway. However, at the same time, I think this show gets a bad rep. I can see why people would like this show, but I don't see why it has gotten such a negative reception. Despite all the issues it had leading up to its debut, I think that Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark is pretty decent and it's one of the most under appreciated shows on Broadway.

    Unforgettable Experience

by Pepcule85 on 1/7/14Foxwoods Theatre - New York

It was my first time on a Broadway Show and all my expectations were exceeded. I never saw before a live act so well organized with flying actors all over the place. For my friends and me it was a marvellous experience that we will never forget!

    Son's first Broadway show

by rmaitrix on 1/6/14Foxwoods Theatre - New York

What a treat!! More than we expected. Other than technical difficulties, that took way too long to fix...the audience was not compensated in anyway...the show itself was wonderful. Glad we were able to see it before it ended

    Date Night!

by BroadwayEnthusiast86 on 1/6/14Foxwoods Theatre - New York

Definitely would recommend everyone to experience it once. The show is 2.5 hours long but it feels like longer because the storyline starts dragging. But the flying is awesome. We had great seats. He landed four times directly in front of us. We sat in the front row (row A) of the up-fly section seats 5 and 7. It's a once in a lifetime experience that can only be compared maybe to cirque du soleil but not really since they don't fly over your head.

    Immature

by Hogie119 on 1/6/14Foxwoods Theatre - New York

Very disappointing. Leads we're weak singers, sets were amazing though. Technical difficulties delayed show for half an hour in the middle of the First act. But worse was the childish theme. Very disappointing. Hopefully it will Be better in Vegas. I understand why it was cancelled

I went on Friday because I wanted to see the technical wizardry, which did not disappoint. But everything else about the show - the dialogue and the songs - were awful. Not a single really good song. I cringed at a lot of the dialogue between Spiderman and mary Jane. If it weren't for the really cool high wire stuff and the amazing sets, the show was not worth seeing.

    Superb production and really entertaining

by jasondavey on 1/6/14Foxwoods Theatre - New York

We went in to the show with low expectations, however it was a fantastic show with excellent set and great pace. People should not expect a critically acclaimed performance, but expect to be wowwed by the entire show.

by Eggsandhammy on 1/5/14Foxwoods Theatre - New York

Absolutely Amazing show. Appropriate for all ages. It's what you go to Broadway to see a musical spectacular with action, scene changes fabulous sets. Incredible music dancing costumes. The show has it all. Too bad it's leaving Broadway

Amazing show but the music was average

by MichaelD12 on 1/5/14Foxwoods Theatre - New York

This was an amazing production. The flying was really out of this world! I would recommend this to any fan of the webbed wonder. If there were a criticism, it would be that it was missing great music. You would think that Bono would be able to include at least one memorable song that an audience member could leave the theater whistling on the walk to the subway. The show was worthy of a standing ovation and theater goers enthusiastically complied. The historic theater is beautiful and worth the price of admission.

great fun and you get to channel Bono

by UWSmomof1 on 1/4/14Foxwoods Theater - New York

Close your eyes and you are channeling Bono....open them and you are in a 3D comic book... crane your neck so you don't miss any of the action going on all around you. By all of that I mean this show is fantastic. It is unlike any show you have seen before or likely ever again. Even if you don't like Broadway shows, you will love this one. I regret that I *only* got to see it 3 times on Broadway...... Given the chance I would be in the audience every week. Yes, it's that good. I guess our next vacation will be in Vegas, where Spiderman is going next.
