  • Fun Rewatch

by Spider fan on 9/25/24New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

It was an enchanting experience, from respectful guests to wonderful musicians doing their best. It elevated the movie, and the other fans really were the cherry on top of the cake!

  • Wear a costume

We had a great time! I went with my kids 8 and 10 years old. They didn’t know what to expect and neither did I. Lots of kids and adults dressed in their favorite spider-man character costume. The conductor encouraged the audience to clap when their favorite character entered the film. The audience fully participated! My kids got into clapping along with everyone. It is a long film so my kids got a little restless around the intermission. And one fell asleep after eating a bag of candy. I wondered about the size of the screen before we got there, and from where we sat, high in the balcony, the screen was viewable but it was small. I occasionally looked at the orchestra. But they seem to blend in and I often forgot they were there. Perhaps the sound could have been a tad louder. I could not fully hear the scratch DJ. He seemed to be working really hard though. Overall it was a nice outing. We enjoyed seeing the movie again with a large lively audience that made the entire show with it!

  • Underwhelming

by ConcertGoer on 9/18/24Elliott Hall of Music - West LafayetteRating: 2 out of 5

The information needed to be more clear on the music being played. Under the impression it was the actual soundtrack songs from the various artist and Metro-Boomin by the orchestra. Really it was the movie score. Very underwhelming.

  • Great Music Lackluster Speakers

by Jack on 9/18/24Elliott Hall of Music - West LafayetteRating: 4 out of 5

(Spoiler free) This is a fantasic way to view this movie and listen to this masterpiece of a soundtrack! If you ever get the opportunity, go! The music brought up the emtional impact of many of the scenes significantly (They nailed the train scene!). I also loved the use of lighting in the showing. For example, when a character glitched, the lighting reacted accordingly. In addition, the screen used was very high quality and HDR. There were many points in the showing where I "forgot"that the band was there! The band also nailed the timing. I've watched this movie multiple times and there was not a single moment off beat. In addition, by nature of what this event is, the audience was full of true Spider-Man fans. I've never seen an audience react so positively to the introduction of characters, big moments, etc in a public movie showing. It was a great change of pace! Also, that DJ was amazing! However, there are a few things that prevent me from giving this a 5 star review: 1. Maybe this was due to the venue we were in but the speakers were not great. The room echoed, the bass regularly "bottomed out,"high trebble often lost its punch, and dialouge felt mixed with everything else. 2. The orchestra was really small. There were only six violins! However, good mics allowed them to do a lot with a little. 3. The music track sometimes cut out synthesized audio moments when it shouldn't have. Most notably, Miguel's entrance towards the start of the 3rd act looses all its impact with his theme taken out but they don't remove it for his first entrance in the movie. These are frequent in the movie. Similar problems plauge many moments in the movie like the first time we hear Gwen's theme and when we enter Mumbattan. Thankful for this event. I was excited and it delivered!

  • Incredible experience!

by Frankie on 9/18/24Elliott Hall of Music - West LafayetteRating: 5 out of 5

Having the orchestra playing the soundtrack while the movie was playing was surreal. Definitely elevated the movie experience. We really loved the vibe in the audience... Almost like we were watching the movie for the first time again in theaters. It was our first experience with movies in concert, but it definitely will not be the last!

  • A must see!

by Beck on 9/16/24The Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

If you ever get the opportunity to see a movie with the symphony playing the music you must go. The exciting parts of the movie are enhanced by the movement of the symphony. You can feel the music like you do at a concert. It is the experience of a lifetime!

  • Best Orchestra Concert Ever

by Gracearie D on 9/15/24The Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I treated my 13 yo grandson to this event for his birthday, because he likes everything Spider-Man. I was skeptical initially, but when he started asking questions about the various instruments and such I relaxed. He had never been to this type of event before. His glowing recommendation at the end was, “If they do something like this again, I want to go!” ‘Nuff said!

  • Surpassesed expectation

  • Fantastic

by ATLdiva on 9/14/24Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Everything is always better with a live orchestra! I grew up playing first chair viola and third chair violin, and going to seasonal performances at ASO. This was a great date night for my husband and I. It was also nice to see lots of families bringing the kids to get the experience. We saw Black Panther at Symphony Hall also. Looking forward to the next opportunity ❤️.

  • Does whatever a spider can

by AMusicFan on 9/9/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

The Au Rene theater is one of my favorite venues organized and easy parking. The orchestra was great and acoustics were superb. My only nitpick is I wish it was a full orchestra (30 players) it was around 15 players.
