  • Lovely performances

by Pete on 11/8/25Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

    1. Not sure I like all the background talk about the music and personal opinions of the artists. Let the music speak. It speaks beautifully 2. Safety: I was in row Z.. but i use a walker. The ushers had me leave it at the door at the lobby grade level. I had to make my way to the seat grabbing the bannisters. Felt unsafe. 3. Valet wouldn’t (couldn’t?) take credit cards. Fortunately I had cash. But I often don’t. What would have happened?

Not your typical "classical"music. Modern, amazing, entertaining.

  • You Can Expect Excellence from South Florida Symphony

by Ken on 3/15/25Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

What an incredibly talented group of people! And the audience behaves better at The Parker than at the Broward Center. I think The Parker could tweak the sound system a bit. I was thoroughly delighted.

  • Absolutely mesmerising

The No 40 symphony was brilliantly performed, too bad the audience applauded between movements 🙃. The Requiem was perfect, the director, the soloist, the orchestra, and above all the choir! Bravo!

A magical experience. The Parker is a friendly venue. Thanks!

  • Candide at Au Rene

by Shari on 1/19/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

Love the music! Orchestra was terrific but…..the acoustics, especially during Act 1….were terrible! So sorry I forgot to pickup headphones prior to performance. They made a big difference to Act 2…..and it’s not as if the plot is easy to follow! Acoustics in Au-Rene tend to not be very good in general, but this evening was particularly poor Sorry!

  • Singers needed to be miced.

by Theaterlover on 1/19/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 3 out of 5

The production was really amazing. We loved the use of the chorus throughtout. The singers were very talented, but hard to hear. While we know that opera singers usually do not use mics, in this venue mics would have helped tremendously. We both missed a lot of the lyrics, We would certainly return, but hope in the future they will use mics.

  • Very Disappointed!

by Pepsi on 1/19/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

It was more like an opera...I didn't like it at all, sorry to say. I have been to other symphonies and loved them.

  • Very disappointed

by Hunter on 1/19/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 1 out of 5

We left at intermission. It was terrible. One of my favorite musicals as even w a 20+ piece orchestra it sounded so incredible flat. Like listening to an antique transistor radio. The conductor had no control over the notes. They were just a muddled mess. She should listen to her own work from the middle of the orchestra. A total waste of money and time.
