  • Symphony

by Dee Stone on 12/11/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed every moment I spent at this joyful occasion. Everyone was engaged and we all had a great time based on the reactions I observed and participated in. I am looking forward to more!!!

It was a wonderful evening with a fantastic performance; an absolute must for the season!

  • Great Performance!

by No Shade. on 12/10/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

Excellent performance of Handel’s Messiah. The mic did the choir a disservice. The sound was somewhat muted for such a large beautiful performance. I would have liked to fell the robust roar ot the music and the singers. The Christmas carols could be substituted next time.

  • Holiday concert @ Parker Playhouse

by Ed Z. on 12/10/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

South Florida Symphony program is a must see. Handel's Masiah was a wonderful concert experience. Venu is the perfect size, intimate setting, and atmosphere. Well presented program. Very much enjoyed the concert! Recommend seeing!

  • Less popular songs, more Handel please

by KenJ on 12/10/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 3 out of 5

The program was in 2 halves - the first consisting of popular Christmas songs and a singalong, the second the first part of Handel's Messiah. Could have done without the popular songs dressed up in "classical"clothes and would have much preferred to see Messiah in its entirety. That being said, the Handel was very well played and sung and thoroughly enjoyable.

  • Excellent!

by Beve on 12/10/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Best Messiah we have seen since living in Florida! It’s tradition for us to start the Christmas season! Chorus was wonderful, of course Symphony was excellent! Wish audience could have joined in Hallelujahs for a few! We had that experience in NY at the atria in World Trade Center years ago’

by Ken on 11/16/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

The first concert of the season. They always delivery and the audience really appreciates. Parker Playhouse is such a great venue in look and acoustics. We are extremely fortunate to have them.

  • Outstanding!

by Mitchell G. on 11/16/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

South Florida Symphony Orchestra(SFSO) is outstanding in every sense of the word. Very professional in selection of music, atmosphere, venue, leadership and more. Magical experience each time I’ve gone to a concert.

  • Really good experience

by El Príncipe on 4/22/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I love to visit The Parker. I'm an artist to and really appreciate the organization, acoustic and the facilities of the theatre. Also I'm glad to find parking space with the help of the staff.

  • Absolutely Wonderful

by David Francis on 4/20/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

We just love going to the Symphony. It is always a fantastic experience. I do have one complaint that I must state. The performance was amazing as usual. However, The couple that was sitting behind us felt is was completely accessible to bring a infant and a toddler to the performance. This is just not the place for a crying baby and a toddler that is not well behaved. But what was worse, were the parents that thought it was fine to continually "shush"the children. They parents were more disruptive than the children. I know we want to expose our kids to the finer things. But use some common sense. If your baby is coughing and sneezing and you keep talking to them throughout the entire performance, next time please stay home.

  • Great regional Symphony Orchestra

by Snow Bird on 4/20/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

The SFSO keeps getting better and better. Recent crowd pleasing programs were delightful. I recently purchased the last ticket to a sold out performance at The Parker, a wonderful venue. Performance was exquisite.

  • Half & half

by Jand on 3/31/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 3 out of 5

The clarinet concerto by Ellen Zwilich idid nothing for me. First off it was ear piercing! Perhaps because of this or perhaps on its own merits, I personally did not enjoy it at all. The second half of the entire program was excellent making the whole performance a partial disappointment. Can you just stick to the old beloved master composers?

  • Brilliant

by David Francis on 3/30/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I have no idea why I waited so long to attend the South Florida Symphony. They were absolutely brilliant. We all left completely invigorated. Such an amazing performance. I see season tickets in my future. Run don't walk to attend a performance.

  • Great musicianship paired with a great venue!

by TerrysMusic on 3/13/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

The venue is dynamite. The orchestra is top notch. The singers were up to the task. The soloists put it all out there. The result is a concert of classical works that left no room for improvement. All the people involved with this performance deserve the highest accolades.

  • Extraordinary evening!

by Ed on 3/8/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Although not an operaphile, I was thankful the symphony chose familiar arias and grateful for the brief explanations of the scenes to maximize the experience for me. The sold out theater erupted enthusiastically at the conclusion of Beethoven’s 9th capping off a truly wonderful evening. Thank you South Florida Symphony!

  • Great music, ride audience

by Cookie on 3/7/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

The chorus decorum is lacking Sopranos in the last row talking continuously, men mansplaning and leaning back in chairs and women in sleeveless dresses. Appearance is part of the experience.

  • Symphonic Bliss

by Karen Cupid on 3/6/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

What a totally blissful evening with the South Florida Orchestra! The music of Beethoven was joyous and beautiful. The conductor is interesting to watch! Our seats in the center balcony were wonderful. We could see the entire program without a problem and the acoustics were "spot on."The ushers were very helpful but that parking deck needs some assistant s to get traffic in and out. That being said my husband and I enjoyed another beautiful evening of blissful music.

  • SFS strikes gold!

by Kandy H. on 3/6/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Sitting in the balcony, I missed most of the chit-chat from the soloists and the Maestro. However, I was there for the music, not the chit-chat. SFS didn't disappoint. Beethoven's Ninth left me breathless! Bravo! My only complaint about the evening was my seat. I sat in row E, center balcony. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO LEG ROOM! I'm six feet tall and had the sit sideways with my knees jammed under the rail. The night was dold out, so there was no chance of being relocated. MOST uncomfortable!! (but what did i expect for twenty dollars?) I'll remember this for next time!

  • Perfect!

by MJ on 3/6/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

A perfect performance of Beethoven's Ninth. Wonderful music that captured the heart and soul of this classic piece.
