Very enjoyable. Liked most the props, especially the poppers. The cards weren't as much fun. The crowd made it fun as well. And the people who dressed up were delightful.
I loved seeing Sound of Music at the Fox Theater. Words can not really describe how wonderful it was. I hope they show it every year!!!
My husband & I took our 6 & 4 year olds to the Sound of Music Sing-A-Long. We had a blast! We all sang proudly and had a ball with the clever props. I have told all my friends about it and CANNOT wait to sing along next summer. The only 'down' side was the popping confetti bottles - too loud for our children.
The costume contest was ok, but took too long. We don't need props, no special noises to help us enjoy this movie. This is not Rocky Horror, it's the Sound of Music, and although it is corny and sexist, we still love it. We just want to be able to sing from our seats, like no one is watching and pretend we are there. We want to pretend that the real life story was as wonderful as the movie. The people that put the props together need to talk to REAL fans, like myself who know this movie well and know what will make us come back to the sing along over and over again.
Very fun show. We enjoyed the interactive experience and the goody bags!
Enjoyable from start to finish. Loved the costume contest, the host, the props, etc. The collective energy from the audience lended a whole new perspective on viewing the movie. The price was also reasonable. Looking forward to more of the same at the Fox Theatre.
Singing along with the movie was alot of fun. The props given to everyone weren't that great. The warm up took 1 hour and 40 minutes-way too long!
This event was an unexpected pleasure! The emcee was engaging, the costumes hilarious, and the audience interaction fun (albeit corny!) My guests and I thought about other musicals that would be fun in this interactive format: Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Singin' in the Rain, My Fair Lady. Great job, lots of smiles, lots of fun!
Great fun! Went with friends who knew all the lyrics even without the subtitles. However, the pre-show portion, particularly the prop-bag and code-words-to-yell-out training, and the costume judging, went on for much too long. Most people couldn't find their props in the dark anyway. The little noise-maker during the big kiss was effective, though.
This was a great show! The sing-a-long was awesome and the entire audience participated!
Everyone who attended got it. We all sang and used our props and loved every minute of it. Young and old all together having a ball. What a wonderful idea. Somethings can be simple and yet the best ever -- that sums up this event!
We had great fun! Plus the screen and picture were flawless. And The Fox......... words cannot describe!
The Sound of Music Sing-a-long was so much fun! I would recommend it to anyone! I had seen the Sound of Music at least 10 times before, but seeing it on the huge screen at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta, with 4000+ of my favorite friends, was just unforgettable. I thought I knew all the words to all the songs, but when the lyrics were displayed on the bottom of the screen, I realized I didn't! We just sang along with every song...and could hear others doing so. There was a guy with a really wonderful voice behind us who sang along so beautifully with the Captain! We were given props and cues to perform throughout the show. For example, whenever the baroness came on, we would "hissssss", and when the Germans appeared we would "booooo." Oh...and the costume contest prior to the movie was hilarious. Some wonderful outfits...and lots of hilarity by the emcee (can't remember his name, but he was great!) It was just a delightful time, and I am so glad that I went.
My only (and it's minor) drawback is the time the costume contest took. Being the first time in Atlanta, the response might have been more than expected. Might advertise the the contest an hour before start time for those that want to see or participate, narrow down the finalists, then have 6-10 presented at the beginning for voting. I loved seeing them all, but made for a long afternoon. As for recommending the event ~ IT WAS A DELIGHT!!! What a fun way to see the movie again. Full screen, Fox Theatre, interactive affordable family fun ~ who could ask for more? Side note: At our particular performance, when Maria handed the guitar to the Captain to play for the first time, someone in the theatre yelled out, "FREEBIRD." Broke us all up!
Sound of Music Sing-a-long was awesome! I'd like to go again, and I would recommend it to every SOM fan. Amazingly large screen and awesome sound! It ran a little long due to the costume contest and 20 minute intermission, but it was well worth it. Please bring the Grease Sing-a-long to the Fox in Atlanta!
Fantastic time; kids loved it; adults had a ball. Wish we knew about how long it would last so we could have planned better.
I attended this show with my three daughters and it turned out to be one of our best experiences ever! The Costume Contest was a brilliant idea, and it was great to be able to watch a movie/show and sing along with every one else.
It was SO MUCH FUN!!!!! It was surprisingly funny! The costume contest at the beginning was HYSTERICAL!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the event. Had an absolute blast and would attend again!!
