About

SOMMORE ON TOUR:

Ever since her debut in the early '90s, comedy queen Sommore has had audiences falling out of their seats with her witty skits on the female perspective. Dubbed "a force to be reckoned with in the new millennium” by Oprah Winfrey, Sommore delivers her often-controversial jokes in a lighthearted manner and is never afraid to push the boundaries with her animated shows. Oozing with sass and style, her skits are as funny as ever as she hosts the 2014 Standing Ovation Tour, where she'll perform alongside a number of highly acclaimed comedians.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Atlanta-based comedian Sommore has been performing stand-up comedy for over 20 years, earning her first recognition in 1994 as host of BET's "Comic View." Since then, she's exploded onto the scene with a number of hit comedy performances, including the Guinness World Record-breaking "Queens of Comedy" tour alongside Laura Hayes, Mo'Nique, and Adele Givens. Not only has Sommore had a widely successful career as a female comedian, but she's also appeared on numerous talk shows and acted in many films and television series, proving she's an entertainer at heart. Back on the road for a string of highly anticipated shows, Sommore will have fans rolling on the floor with her latest stand-up routine.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"I had a great time... This was comedy at its best! Not a dull moment..."

"She was hilarious. We laughed so hard 'til our stomachs hurt. Sommore was the best host ever!"

"Sommore was the star and funny as hell! It was a real treat, the queen reigned!!"

    Hilariously funny

by Dkessiah on 2/23/10Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - Baltimore

This concert is a must see. Although Jay Anthony Brown did not appear, everyone delivered even his sit-in David Williams. It was so refreshing to sit back and laugh with all the devistation we've encountered and witnessed. Thank you Royal Comedy Tour.

Great show! Bruce, Bruce was hilarious as always and George Wilborn was great as well. Sommore did her thing but I feel that Bruce should've been the headliner. He definitely outdid her.

    laughs and losses....

by YOUCANHAVEMYCHAIR on 2/22/10Jackson Convention Complex - Jackson

overall show was funny ..... local dj was the announcer... he was dressed really raggedy. It was a low budget production.... Jus a simple screen and thin curtains all over. At the end of the show Sommore Performed and thanked us for coming--- noone said anything else. No drive safe or get the hell out.... We left on our own. They announced a backstage after photo for a texting contest. Nothing else was said about that.... All the performers, George from Mike Basin SHow was great. Bruce Bruce Funny as hell. DC spoke that truth. Sommore rep for the women. The DJ Sucked they had to tell him when to put music on and when not to put it on. Parking was great. Lines were not long at all.

the royal comedy tour was da bomb!!! Bruce Bruce is da shiz-nit!! its definately a MUST-SEE for all ComicView lovers!!!! I thouroughly enjoyed it. The only change that I would have made is the fact that it did not start on time. Other than that, IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT IN THE CITY OF JACKSON!!!!!!! The tickets were not expensive and I had a great seat!!!

The Royal Comedy Tour was ok. I think the Rickey Smiley Show was better when he was in Greenwood. The Royal Comedy Tour really did not give a close to the show. When Sommore was finish, she just walked off stage. Rickey Smiley gave a big close with music, etc. Also, the seats should have been elevated so we would not have to look over people's head. Overall, it was just ok.

Wasn't what I expected it to be.

by rcook on 2/22/10Jackson Convention Complex - Jackson

The show "overall" was okay. The host, George Wilborn, was WONDERFUL!!!! He should have been that closing act. D.C. Curry has gotten too old. I think it's about time he retire. Bruce Bruce did a really good job. Sommore was not at all what I had been waiting for three weeks to see. Her act was just blank. There wasn't anything she said that just had me hanging over my chair laughing at like I did with Mr. Wilborn.

    Great Show

by MissShin on 2/22/10Jackson Convention Complex - Jackson

To begin with the show started on TIME!!!!! Great. The comedians were great. We laughed, laughed and laughed. Be prepared for some "choice words", you definitely can't be a sensitive ear, although if you are going to their show, I am sure you are fully aware of that. We loved it.

Royal Comedy Tour was worth every penny!

by shea601 on 2/22/10Jackson Convention Complex - Jackson

One thing about me is that you have to be funny as hell to make me laugh, and from the beginning until the end, it was nonstop laughter! Things were a little shaky at first with the sound (couldn't hear the opening comedian), but once that was resolved it was on. They all brought something different to the stage, but Don D.C. Curry, took the cake! He was brilliant! I also loved the fact that Bruce Bruce was so personable and down to earth and George Wilborn OMG, he is a FOOL! Sommore you my girl, keep doing your thang.

    Dat's wats up!

by MamaLez on 2/22/10Jackson Convention Complex - Jackson

All the artist were phenomenal. The opening act (don't know who he was) was just that, the opening act. He was cool, tho. Then George Wilborn came out and brought the show down. Bruce Bruce was very entertaining then came my girl, Sommore. She was not as funny as I thought she would be but as one of my favorite female comediannes, she was great. The show was on point and worth the money.

The Stand-up comedy event was Hilarious....I was a little disappointed because J.Anthony Brown was sick so he didnt perform but it was still th best I've seen in a while. Damon Williams added to the show....And God was he funny and not tp mention FINE!!!!!I thought DC Curry could have done a little better..But he was ok too. This defintely a must see!
