So You Think You Can Dance Live! on Tour
As the name implies, the ‘So You Think You Can Dance' Live! tour is an extension of the long-running Fox TV series. Each year, top contestants from the show's most recent season go on the road and perform in front of live audiences. At these gigs, ‘SYTYCD' fans can expect the usual mix of inventive, high-quality choreography and solo and group spotlights. The format of the tour allows dancers to stretch out physically and emotionally, and to show off their unique personalities, which makes the night a resonant one. For the 2018 tour, the Top 10 finalists from Season 15 — including winner Hannahlei Cabanilla, a contemporary dance enthusiast from Orange County, California, and season runner-up Jensen Arnold — are hitting the road to show off their best moves, under the choreographic guidance of the Emmy-winning Mandy Moore.
About So You Think You Can Dance Live! Tour
Just as ‘American Idol' and ‘The Voice' have helped aspiring musicians launch a career, the judged competition ‘So You Think You Can Dance' has done the same for dancers. Contestants from the show, which premiered in 2005, have gone on to become professional actors and actresses, choreographers, and backup dancers for pop stars. ‘SYTYCD' itself has also become known for its innovative dance routines to popular music, and is a perennial Primetime Emmy winner, particularly in the Outstanding Choreography category.
The show's sterling track record is a testament to the stunning pool of talent on display during each season. ‘SYTYCD' doubles as a spotlight showcase for promising dancers specializing in various styles (hip-hop, jazz, contemporary), who then show off their best moves via group, pair, and individual dance performances. Each week, judges whittle down the field of competitors, before crowning one person the winner. After the season ends, the ‘So You Think You Can Dance' Live! tour gives top contestants a chance to strut their stuff in real life, up close and personal in front of the show's many, many fans.

This was the first SYTYCD show for my daughter and me, and we enjoyed our night. I felt that they put on a spectacular show, although the music was a little too loud. The dancers were professional and were very amusing. They literally kicked butt for 2-1/2 straight hours. All the best with their dance career; they certainly deserve it. I still think Brandon should have won :-)
The show was amazing, the dancers were amazing. I'm so glad I went.
Been watching the show since the first season. First time we went to see them in person. It's so different than seeing them on tv. These are a bunch of amazing dancers who put a a terrific show. You can tell the love doing what their doing.....
The show is great as long as you don't have floor seating. We sat in our seats (floor level) for the first 30 minutes and couldn't see much other than the backs of the heads of the people in front of us. After that we moved to the seats along the side. Whatever you do, DON'T GET FLOOR SEATING. Overall show was entertaining but it did seem to drag a little at times...it almost felt like there were commercial breaks throughout the show. I understand the dancers get tired but honestly this was a little excessive.
This show was so much fun. I took my 16 year old daughter and we had a blast! The dancing is so much better in person and the dancers personalities really come through on stage that are not fully captured on tv. I hope next season is just as good.
Seeing the show on tv does the dancers NO justice. Seeing the show live was amazing, breathtaking, wonderful, and just plain cool. I applaud the dancers strength, endurance, and skill. To see the actual speed at which some of the routines were done in was exciting. And for them to remember all of the routines, beautiful. I felt that I was at a vadville show with the dancers doing everything from dancing to hosting to simply entertaining the audience. Job well done!!!!! The only thing I regret is that I didn' know that regular cameras would be allowed so I didn't get any personal pictures of the show. :(
The show was outstanding. My whole family went to the watch the show and was not disappointed. We all saw our favorite routines. The russian folk dance appearances were hysterical. It was amazing and unforgetable. We are hoping to make this a yearly tradition. WE LOVE So You Think You Can Dance and can't wait for the new season.
SYTYCD is my absolute favorite TV show, I watch every season religiously and vote fanatically. This is my fourth year seeing the live tour (yes I started with the first one!) and the show just gets better and better every year. There's really no question as to whether this is something you will enjoy - if you like the show and want to see all the amazing dancers perform all the unbelievable dances live, you'll LOVE the tour. It's simply a spectacular experience.
the show was excellent. great in comparison to other years. the only problem was the location of our seats on the floor as to we could not see very well. i recomend you see this show no matter who is on the show that season..it is always amazing, this was my 3rd year going, but sit in the stadium seating not the floor!
Show was great - music was solid. great performances, much more impressive to see them live than on tv...
Show was awesome! Well worth it. Can't wait for the next one!
My girlfriend and I went to SYTYCD Season 5 and we were blown away! Everyone was amazing. We were on the floor and super close to the stage. I had never been to the Agganis Arena and that was a nice venue, but onto the dancers! Talk about incredible moments, yes we saw the zombie dance, and addiction and the one about cancer made me cry. But it's the additional fun of the Russian Folk Dance skits and the attitude of these amazing talents that make the night. Philip's solo was incredible and earned a standing ovation, which was not the only one of the evening. The group numbers were incredible and I will be at every SYTYCD concert from now on!
The show was awesome - the dancers were perfection, very talented, energenic, and engaging. The only thing I didn't like as compared to years past - is the over playing of canned video segments that were already played on TV - I didn't come to a live show to watch the Katie Holmes interview or a reivew of the past 5 seasons - instead I would have like to see a few more live dances in the place of those long videos - like maybe a routine with Philip in it...
I thought the show was great. The performers were very entertaining. The dancing was excellent!!!
This was truly one of the best shows that we have ever seen! The dancing was absolutely amazing!
Tremendous show. They took all the great dances from the season, mixed in some unexpected fun and kept the crowd clapping and yelling the whole night. No dull moments. Many standing ovations. It was amazing to see the dances in person because they were just so fast, so strong and so spectacular. The group dances are great because you can see all of the dancers, not just the parts that the TV camera picked. If you love the show, you'll love the live tour.
I liked the show and the talent is amazing. I just wish they had performed new routines rather than a recap of the season's best dances.
We loved the show. It was great to see all the live performances. The show was about 2 1/2 hours, much longer than I expected as well. There were some corny bits, but there were also some very fun and funny bits. Overall, we would definitely do it again which I didn't think I would think going into it.
My third year attending the show. LOVED IT! Can't wait till next year
