About

Slightly Stoopid was discovered by Sublime’s Bradley Nowell in 1995. Co-founders Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald were still in high school in San Diego when they inked a deal with Nowell’s indie label Skunk Records. Fusing rock, reggae, and blues with hip-hop, funk, American folk, metal, and punk, Slightly Stoopid forged their sonic legacy on the road, selling out venues across the world and bringing their SoCal vibes to festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Austin City Limits and more. Albums like Everything You Need (2003), Closer to the Sun (2005) and Chronchitis (2007) feature summertime classics “2am” and “Closer to the Sun.”

    Great time!

    by Chilly on 8/21/23

It was a great concert. Wish I could have gotten more info on what we could bring in. Ticketmaster should have to post the rules to each event instead of just a link to the venue with generic info. Maybe they do but we couldn't find it. But I went for sublime and my wife loves them all. They killed it and my 15 and 17 y/o had a great time as well.

    Unimpressed

    by Suss on 8/21/23

Always live Merriweather as a venue, but this time was terrible. $19.50 for chicken tenders and fries with hot condiments? Terrible. I’ve seen Slightly Stoopid countless times, and their intro was different and off, and they seemed rushed. Might skip the next tour.

Great show! Sublime killed it and slightly stoopid did too. Perfect mix of bands for a show...

    Slightly disappointed

    by TMF on 8/20/23

Was looking forward to my first Slightly Stoopid show but let down by the venue, or the band's sound engineers...having been to numerous shows at PNC Bank Arts Center over 25+ years, have experienced great shows with excellent sound in the seated area. Not so with this show, could not hear many of the instruments, and vocals were drowned out --- someone got the mix all wrong and for the most part the sound was just a mix of instruments drowning out one another. Towards the end of the show, decided to stay out on the lawn and the experience was better but not what I expected based on past experience at PNC Bank Arts Center

    Terrible sound

I really enjoy the bands that where here. Overall, not a good experience. Sound quilaity was worse than your local dive bar.

    DRUNKS EVERYWHERE SAD

by LONGTIME PNC CONCERT GOER on 8/20/23

It seems Atmosphere was the only performer that cared about his excellent performance .. PNC Amphitheater should be put under state review for serving Alcohol every ten feet.. I am sure if the State Police did a DWI checkpoint at the end of the concert there would be buses of arrests.. Sad wake up !

    Sound sucks

    by Gi on 8/20/23

Sounds system there needs updating. Prices at concessions are getting high also.

Even though there was a huge storm coming in they were able to get everyone on stage for a bit and put on a great show!!

Great Show! These guys are awesome!

    by GrizzlyD on 8/9/23

If you're a fan, then you already know. This show tour was pretty great. A couple really great covers....Beastie Boys was a super awesome way to end the show! Sublime was a great lead in to you guys, and I very much enjoyed the on-stage collab with the other bands. Hope to see you back in Raleigh again soon. Preferably at Coastal Credit or The Ritz again in the future. The experience at Red Hat is meh....

Awesome show with Sublime and Slightly Stoopid!

    by The Stever on 8/8/23

The show was very good, but the amphitheater could have been a little cooler. They should make sure the AC is working before a show takes place! 🙂

Dope but didn’t meet my expectations

    by Cece on 8/8/23

It’s not the expensive food or the view. I love all these artists. It wasn’t giving what it was supposed to give. They went hard but as far as performances, I’ve lost my soul at other concerts and that just wasn’t happening.

    Sublime WAS on Fire!

    by B V B on 8/8/23

Sublime w/ Rome was spectacular! Really impressed with their ability to play the hits of Sublime prior to watching Slightly Stoopid. Slightly Stoopid had great stage presence and was able to keep us all entertained.

    Great down to the roach!

    by Diva dominator. on 8/8/23

Was an amazing event from the time we walked in until we got up to leave. Every group and every set was on point. Atmosphere was a pleasant surprise. You will hear that name again. Sublime with Rome was fantastic. What more can you say about Slightly Stoopid. They all were GREAT!!! Would highly recommend them. I would see this show again.

Bands did not play long enough!

    by Krazy Kev on 8/8/23

Concert was fair! But when you scheduled 4 bands to play, each only played about 45mins. Don't scheduled 2 backup band when you have 2 main bands! That is very bad!! And I paid for early parking, ticket says 5pm. And concert starts at 5pm. Found out early parking was at 12.30pm Get your ticket and scheduled right! I lost money on early parking. Don't ever scheduled 4 bands together!! I have 1.7million views on goggle that people have view me. You bet I will post about how bad your tickets and band mess up!
