"To be honest my vibe gets killed the most when I'm concentrating too much on what is around me and thinking too much about it all," Moore states. "I have the most fun when I let my inhibitions check out, right at that point things just start to happen."
It started to go well for Sonny when he filtered out the noise and distraction of his world as a solo artist and started mining the ephemeral moments he had been sharing with friends in clubs and parties across the city he calls home since his mid-teen years. The restless, urgent and kaleidoscopic sounds of EDM and bass music had spoken to him for the best part of a decade, one day he just started talking back.
"Making music is the same as DJing," he offers. "You continue along the path that leaves you most inspired. When you think too much you put limits on what is possible, the best parts are always instinctual rather than something too considered or planned out."

Amazing, definitely worth the ride. Will definitely be going to another concert, lights were crazy he killed it. Enough said <3
First dubstep show, but I was relatively certain Sonny would not disappoint. I was quite right. The light show, 3d projection stage (rightly named the "Skrillex Cell"), venue, and all the DJ's that performed made for a great experience. Nice clean place with enough bathrooms and bars around to sustain the crowd. No glow-sticks permitted at the venue (maybe for the best even though that wont stop dedicated glow-fanatics). Crowd surfing is permitted and yes some lovely bouncers are around front to make sure you don't fall on your head. Friendly enough crowd and atmosphere, definitely worth a trip back. My name be Skrillex, your name be Skrillex, ALL our namez be SKRILLEX.
deff my 3rd most favorite show i went to in my life, put on a great show, i recommend everyone go see skrillex aka sonny moore !
I saw Skrillex at Ultra in Miami and this time at the Norva... he has never disappointed me. Ever. Great artist, excellent music, phenomenal show.
Skrillex was unreal and the light show was insane.
This was probably my 20th+ show at Starland Ballroom, and while I've always thought the layout kinda sucks, the security is way too aggressive and rude, and the separate bar area is really annoying, I still had an amazing time. I missed out on Nadastrom opening, but Foreign Beggars killed their segment, hitting everything from Flux Pavilion to Noisia with their frighteningly fast vocals and UK grime style to get the crowd amped up. 12th Planet was up next, and for my 3rd time seeing him he continues to kick ass and rage on stage, throwing down out one of the hardest hitting Dubstep sets I'm aware of. Props! Finally, Skrillex, and what a show he put on. From an incredible opening featuring a slowed down "Hello again to all my friends, together we can play some rock 'n roll" that built up into a massive mess when it dropped, to the visual effects and set list, it was by and far the best concert I've seen since Bassnectar's Bass Island this summer in NYC. Aside from having one of the cooler visual set-up's in the EDM scene, one of the best parts included Skrillex's ability to overlay samples from multiple versions of his songs into one beautiful combination, only to smash it to pieces with the next drop. This was a concert you didn't want to miss and a sold-out crowd that was amped to the max.
One of the best nights of my life. Not only did he put on an amazing set, but you cant help but to go wild and have fun when he's djing. so so amazing. cannot wait till he comes back.
great night...it was awesome they had foreign beggars and 12th planet there!!!
Skrillex was amazing. The opening acts were awesome, the lights and the atmosphere were great and the entire experience was superb overall. I would love to go back and do it again.
Fantastic stage presence, really got the crowd moving, such a great stage. experience of a lifetime that i will tell my children, and my children's children
I fell in love with Skrillex during a show in the spring so I was super excited about this show. Sadly, it just wasn't as good. I would hear songs that I liked and was familiar with and be rocking out to it and it would only last for half a minute before it was interrupted by something that sounded like randomness. It really threw me off and made the show hard to enjoy. I think other people felt the same way because there wasn't much demand for an encore. People were rushing out pretty quickly.
I saw skrillex for the first time in AC and that was amazing! Then seeing him the other day at starland blew my mind!!! The energy was amazing. The light show was omg there is no words to describe it. 12planet was amazing ! No complaints for this show! I wish I can go to a show every month!!!
It's pretty hard to put it into words, third time I saw him this year and each time is better than the next. But this was just another level, lots of props to 12th planet too he really got the place goin. Foreign Beggars and NODASTROM were great as well. I'm sorry if you missed this show.
Words can't describe how awesome it was can't wait to do it all over again
Nadastorm was alright, a bit repetitive. Foreign Beggars got the crowd so hyped up, and they were very good. 12 Planet was fantastic, and got us so ready for Skrillex. Then Skrillex was out of this WORLD. He had 100% energy his whole entire set and he just tore it up! It was so worth the wait.
Skrillix was unreal. His opening 3 acts were right on point, and his show was epic. I'm not a huge dubstep fan- but I loved the whole show. fuckin' amazing- I would definitely go again.
Skrillex, what can I say. If you don't believe in him, his shows may prove you otherwise. The lights and stage show were on point, the crowd was incredible, you could talk to, dance with, high five anybody you pleased, security was super relaxed, sounds were awesome. It was one of the best times I have ever had at a show, that being said, been to probably one hundred plus shows at the electric factory alone, everyone from Ministry to Animal Collective and this was up there as a great for me. He was great to the crowd, didn't delay his set time, came on and got right to business. I went with a giant squad of probably some of the oldest people in the room and we all came out singing it's praises on all levels. So awesome.
First of all I thought only Foreign Beggars was opening. There were three openers, and they all threw down (12th Planet was awesome!) Anyways, I honestly was wondering if Skrillex wasn't going to make it or something, but I couldn't have been more wrong. He came out and played for just over 2 hours and the show was incredible, including so much great work from his upcoming album. All in all, I was expecting an incredible show and he was a thousand times better than that. Awesome show.
Kinda pissed Skrillex didn't go on until 2 1/2 hours after the show started and that the first two opening acts kinda sucked, but when he FINALLY came on, the music was so sick my face melted off.
