Grade school memories were brought back to life

by Anonymous on 12/24/13Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

Sister definately brought back memories of attending a Catholic grade school. The difference is that we could laugh about it now. I loved that she got the audience involved. Not only did we laugh but we learned things about the Nativity we never knew. I also loved that she collected after the show for the retired nuns. This definately made a great start to our Christmas holiday.

    Sister's Catechism is irreverent!

by BuckeyeJimmy on 12/23/13Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

One sister act that continuously engages the audience and responds to that input.

    Catholic school flashback!

by LNShack on 12/23/13Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

The show was amazing! The quick wit of Sister made the performance. The interaction with the audience was hilarious. Fabulous show for any catholic to see, especially if you went to catholic school! Be prepared to laugh at yourself...

This performance was a hilariously fun evening mixing secular and religious humor. Lots of audience participation too.

Sister outdid herself. Quick, funny (not acerbic) and spot on with the delivery!

    Sisters Christmas Catechism @

by davislr on 12/23/13Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

I took my family to see this play and they loved it. They told me it was the best Christmas gift they could receive. Sister was a one woman power house. She was as funny as she was focused. She remembered all of the names of the folks she worked with in the adiuence and she mantained complete control of the show. I hope the show returns next season as I would take friends to see it. Outstanding, well done. The show made us very happy that evening. Thank you.

    Sisters Xmas was a hoot!

by Detroitteachers on 12/8/13The City Theatre - Detroit

The best front row seats for my husband and me at half off prices with GIFT code thru my Mlife card. Never a dull moment. I belly-laughed thru the entire show. Of course, both my husband and I survived 12 years of Catholic School so the nun's performance was totally a flashback to our youth. From the skit about May crowning to occasional sin to the taboo of chewing gum in school (and being humiliated for doing so), every idea and mannerism of sister was spot on. The actress portraying Sister Mary was THE BEST! Can't imagine the skill, stamina, and talent required to perform a one-woman show for 2 1/2 hours but she did it superbly. She never tired, remained high-enegy , and engaged the audience to laugh and participate from start to finish. We just loved it.

Sister was witty with amazing improv skills

by B3auzmom on 12/7/13The City Theatre - Detroit

Not being Catholic I wondered if I would enjoy this as much as those who are. Well, frankly, I'm an atheist but I love to laugh so am always willing to go see a comedy. Sister did not disappoint. After getting two demerits, one for being a smarty pants and the other for having my arm around my partner and from that point on being called "Drive-in Girl"; Sister still gave me a roll in the Nativity play. I got to be the Little Drummer Boy because I had a boys haircut. LOL My partner (who got the toll as the sheep in the play) and I hitch had a blast and laughed very hard at both the general story and the brilliant improv by Sister. I highly recommend this play to everyone...whatever their religious interest.

Great show even if you're not Catholic

by RUReadyYet on 12/3/13The City Theatre - Detroit

Sister is great! Laugh out loud funny. Be as quiet as a church mouse or else you might become active in audience participation. Never been to City Theater (previously Second City) in Detroit next to Hockeytown and The Fox Theater. Small, truly every seat is a great one, you can bring alcoholic drinks in, easy parking next door at Fox Parking $15 (yes pricey but easy peasy). Definitely a thumbs up for age 16 and up (especially up!).

A (guilt) trip back in time.

by balletomaniac on 12/17/12Akron Civic Theatre - Akron

Clever, fast-paced, and well-researched production that conjured up memories of elementary school. Sister was a delight, and very knowledgable about the Catholic faith and nun "behaviors." The audience participation aspect is particularly enjoyable.

WONDERFUL - When will you bring more of these to town? You need to find a way to advertise more and give more info...didn't know it was a one woman show and it was sad to see such low attendance for such a great show!

Who knew something "G" rated could be such fun?!

by Lambiepi on 12/16/12Capitol Theatre - Columbus

This one woman act was enjoyable from start to finish. "Sister" was able to involve the audience in the best sense of improv.I have not laughed so much in years. Certainly for Catholic baby boomers this act is a blast from the past but it would be enjoyable for a person of any age or background.I even had the chance to take part in the Christmas pageant.Give yourself a dose of nostalgia,Christmas cheer and plain good humor and see this!

    No Gum Chewing, Please

by marjmill on 12/16/12Capitol Theatre - Columbus

Non-stop laughter. Loved the interaction with the audience. Don't need to have gone to a Catholic school to appreciate the humor. Brings out the best about the Sisters who taught us.
