About

SISTER ACT is Broadway's feel-amazing musical comedy smash! The New York Post calls it "RIDICULOUSLY FUN," and audiences are jumping to their feet in total agreement! Featuring original music by 8-time Oscar® winner ALAN MENKEN (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors), SISTER ACT tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look—a convent! Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, SISTER ACT is reason to REJOICE!

nothing like the movie. the score was so so.

by onepatrickFLA on 12/4/12Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

A bit too sacrileges for me. my wife loved it. I was let down that it was an original score as it was forgotten easily. The fun poked at my religion was not so bad to make me leave or shout. I heard the audience love it as evidenced by loud clapping and hooting but I chalked that up to a godless Chicago and large number of alternative lifestyle persons in attendance. I would never recommend this and I don't even want to admit I went to it.

    WOW... Never expected it!

by CyberDoc on 12/4/12Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

ON a 1 - 10 having seen WICKED 11 times because of value, I expected Sister Act to come in about 6 on that same scale. It got 9.5 - 10 for sure. I can't wait to be in another city where it is playing. It was obvious the entire cast was hired based on their VOICE and not acting. That is exactly what this 20 song team needed. Although I am sure many are expecting a movie rendition, the changes made only made it more successful as a musical. I am speaking at a convention of 300 in another city today and I have told them all get tickets for May. It was easy to see why Sister Act was a "sold out" for weeks show. I will plan ahead with my travel schedule and buy within first 10 rows intentionally.

    Sister Act Rocked.....seats sucked!!!!

by CEDOLPHIN on 12/3/12Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

The show was very good what we could see of it. The seats that I purchased were not the seats that we got (according to the view shown of the seats to be purchased). We were in the first row but so far right of the stage that part of the show was unseen. This should affect the cost of these tickets as I paid for five orchestra level seats and was not at all impressed with the "orchestra level". Will not be purchasing tickets from ticketmaster any more unless I personally know the venue. Big disappointment!

It was okay. Not my favorite by a long shot. Vocals were good but the whole thing dragged on and on and on.

Where are the strong male leads in Chicago?

    by JLCH59 on 12/3/12Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

I absolutely loved the play. It was fun, fast-paced, and the best play I've seen in Chicago for a while. However.... we left the theater wondering where the strong male leads have gone? Vince just couldn't act and his singing was wooden. This was is complete contrast to the absolutely wonderful performance of all the females in the cast. The guy behind us actually booed (which is a bit rude) - but obviously his sentiments were the same as ours. So overall it was a GREAT performance because the lead females were spectacular. We just couldn't figure out why the casting director didn't bring in some stronger male leads.

Such fun! We laughed a lot. For people who are hard of hearing, two people sign the entire event. Also, there are hearing devices. Use them if need be. However, the energy of the show is infectious.

Liked Sister Act the Movie better

by Anonymous on 12/2/12Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

I was disappointed that there were no songs from the movie. The musical had a few good songs but it would have been better if they Incorporated the songs we love from the movie.
