I have been a Silvio's fan since the 80's and to see him was a A dream come true !!!! Super performance from Silvio and I believe that this was his first time in Los Angeles. He sang with his heart and I truly enjoyed the show. I wished he sang "Cancion de Invierno " but, there are too many for him in such limited time. I do hope that he will be back next year.

    UNFORGETTABLE!!

by golani on 6/18/10Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk - Universal City

This was an extraordinary show. His performance was beautiful. A nostalgic evening with just a slight political undertone only when he mentioned the 5 Cuban nationals imprisoned in the US for which he dedicated "Cancion del Elegido" and during his introduction of "La Era esta pariendo un Corazon", which he explained he wrote for "El Che". The crowd roared "Viva Cuba" during various moments during the show. Several encore songs were performed both with his new flute, bass, percussion and guitar ensemble as well as solo with his guitar. I felt I was part of history as, until the beginning of his tour a couple of weeks ago in Carnegie Hall this month, he had not been back in the US for over 30 years. I hope to see him again someday. What a great night. Te queremos Silvio!!!

It last forever and then Some

by rogerart on 6/18/10Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk - Universal City

Silvio gave his all, and then some. After more than an hour (The Show started at 8:30 pm) He finished a beautiful show; where his musicians and him gave a high quality show. Not only because of his beautiful music. But it shows that this people care for what they were playing. It showed that they were putting "Alma Vida y Corazon" (Soul, Life & Heart!). It never show better after the 4 Encores they gave US! After more than and Hour they came back after what it seemed that they were done for an Encore. After that Silvio came back by himself; after that he left and then came back all of them and then after that He came back one more time all by himself. And after that all of them came back one more time to finish the show. While every time the public (Included myself) were shouting "Otra" (One more time) and of course "Silvio"! The show lasted 2 and an half hours! We're hope it doesn't take 30 years to see him again!

Silvio is a pure, no-frills, magical interpreter!

by cv4peace on 6/18/10Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk - Universal City

Sheer pleasure! Silvio was on stage with the four members of his band and their instruments - they did not need any fancy lights, extravagant backdrops or anything to distract one from the fabulous music they made! On top of that, he delighted us with around four curtain calls and each time it was an accoustic rendition of one of his classics. He sang a song about Guardian Angels that just made me (and my husband) cry...the depth of his lyrics is truly amazing. We hope it is not another 30 years before he comes back to thrill us. p.s. Please get his name right...it is Silvio Rodriguez

by hulalo on 6/18/10Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk - Universal City

Every moment was like magic, beautiful , lyrical and never wanted it to end. I've waited years to see him and was not disappointed. His generosity to come back to the stage so many times was just the best! I love you Sylvio

    Silvio...finally!

    by Andresdelobos on 6/17/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

After listening to Silvio for the last 20 years, it was truly amazing to be able to see and hear him in concert. Song after remarkable song his voice remains clear and distinctive. It was like a passage into another time and place that we heard existed, but couldn't be sure of it until now. It was definitely worth the 1,600-mile car trip.

There are no words to appropriately describe witnessing Silvio Rodriguez play. He is a poet, a historian, a revolutionary, a hero.... His music is inspiring and gorgeous.

Great guitar music. He played more of his romantic songs and not as many of his songs from his political repertoire. Great show nonetheless!

    Silvio Rodriguez @ Oakland

    by changcho on 6/14/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

Went with my wife to this excellent concert by the well known Cuban artist Silvio Rodriguez and his musicians. His performance was so good that poor Silvio, after seemingly ending the show, performed, oh, I don't quite recall but it was at least five encores! Performed several of his old classics (Sueño con Serpientes; Unicornio; La Maza; Ojala'; etc.) as well as several excellent new compositions I'm not famliar with; I will have to get his newer CDs! Paramount Theater was very nice and classy as well, my first concert there. Perfect venue for this great performer.

Awesome show...Never thought I'd see Silvio in the US. It was absolutely amazing and i was way up in the balcony. My only complaint is that they changed the marquis before i could get a picture of it.
