SILVERSTEIN IN CONCERT:

Since bursting onto the scene in 2000, Canadian post-hardcore outfit Silverstein has consistently wowed audiences with their energetic, adrenaline-filled concerts. Their setlists pull from all seven of their studio albums and feature longtime favorites "Vices", "Bleeds No More", and "Smile In Your Sleep" alongside recent singles like "Stand Amid The Roar" and "Massachusetts". Frontman Shane Told pours his heart out onstage, alternating between soft melodic croons and thunderous screamo yells. The rest of the band radiates passion, from Paul Koehler's relentless drumming to bassist Billy Hamilton's guttural growling. Silverstein’s emotionally charged renditions of their aggressive, melodic songs are sure to leave their ravenous fans begging for more.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Silverstein formed in Ontario, Canada in 2000 and released their first EP, Summer's Stellar Gaze, later that year. Since 2001 the five-piece's lineup has consisted of lead singer and keyboardist Shane Told, guitarists Paul Marc Rousseau and Josh Bradford, bassist Billy Hamilton, and drummer Paul Koehler. In 2002 the band penned a deal with Victory Records and released their debut album, When Broke Is Easily Fixed, the following year. Their sophomore release, 2005's Discovering The Waterfront, introduced faster punk rock influences and cracked the Top 40 on the Billboard 200 chart. Over the next decade they released five more studio albums, including 2013's This Is How The Wind Shifts. Silverstein excels in live performance and is known for their extensive touring -- having played in more than 40 countries at venues like The Depot and Marquee Theatre, alongside bands like Rise Against, Hawthorne Heights, The Devil Wears Prada, Blessthefall, and A Day To Remember. In 2014 they announced plans for a world tour to mark the 10th anniversary of Discovering The Waterfront, as well as a brand new studio album, I Am Alive In Everything I Touch.

    Unforgetable

by Dralcon on 4/6/10Masquerade - Atlanta

This show was absolutely beast. They played with Enter Shikari, August Burns Red, and A Day to Remember, and they were all amazing, but I think it was really Silverstein that stole the show.

    Silverstein was amazing

    by JessMarie17 on 3/29/10Valentines - Albany

The show was amazing. They played old songs with just enough of the new stuff. I was impressed with the show that they put on.

This concert was sick. the first few opening bands were way better than i thought they would be and ive been some really crammed shows and this one even for being sold out wasnt that bad. i still like northern lights way better than valentines, but the fact that it was valentines didnt bring away from the show. i liked the fact that you could go so close to the band at valentines even tho it was kinda annoying when every minute someone crowd surfing would knock over the bass players mic. but other than those few things the show was perfect and i would totally go see another band there. again silverstein rocks and it doesnt matter where you see them the show is gonna be awesome.

This Would Be A ZERO If I Could

    by Cujo77 on 3/28/10Chameleon Club - Lancaster

This event was awful. There were three cover bands, and they were all terrible. Almost two hours in, Silverstein wasn't even up. Me and my friends drove 4 hours to see this show. It started late, and there were way too many cover bands. The Chameleon Club is a dump. I actually had a headache.

    Intense Stuff

by imicallef on 3/27/10Valentines - Albany

This was my first screamo concert I've ever been to and it was a very intense experience. They other opening bands were surprisingly good. Silverstein was great but could have been a bit better. I also felt like they could have played a few more songs. Didn't seem like they were out that long and it seemed like the concert ended a bit early.

    Silverstein nov. 14

by alexisss on 12/26/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

I was really disaponted with this show. I was expecting I see stars to be there and Silverstein was the only good band. Don't get me wrong, Silverstein is beyond amazing and they made the whole show worth it, but other than that I was unhappy. It was the worst show I've been to at starland yet, but I love Silverstein and starland<3

    Best concert ever

    by ammeriebx28 on 11/16/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

This was my first standing admission concert. I went with my two friends from New York. we got in quickly and got a spot right in front. The first band was My Arcadia, then Serazada, The World Alive, Dr Acula, then Madina lake. All these bands were amazing, even the 4 smaller bands i had never heard of. By the time madina lake went on, i was right in front and caught a guitar pic. Silverstein was amazing too, they played a long set and came back for a 3 song encore. i caught one of the pics then too. After the show some band members were walking around and selling merch. I bought Serazada's cd and had them autograph it. The concert left us in an awesome mood and my friends who had been to many concerts like this before said it was the best they had ever been to. The band members were extremely humble and friendly. The show was amazing and im sorry if you missed it.

    The Word Alive = Epic

by NYBrewBigG on 11/15/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

The Word Alive was amazing. They sounded better then on cd, I just wish I could have met them. Madina Lake was pretty good and Silverstein was amazing too. The band before Madina Lake wasn;t good though. I support them playing music and all but I would not go see them again. TWA COME TO NEW YORK

    Silverstein at the Blue Note

by poofy67 on 11/10/09The Blue Note - Columbia

I'm the mom of 15 year-old twins who love Silverstein. I went with the kids last night, and we all had a great time! I'm not into this "new music", I'm loyal to the more traditional metal like Judas Priest. With that said, I must go by my kids reaction more than anything. They had a great time!! Silverstein played a lot of their older tunes as well as their new stuff, and played a lot of crowd-pleasers. The bands we very respectful to the fans....hanging out with the crowd after the show, allowing for picture taking and autographs. We were all very impressed with one of the opening bands in particular, "i see stars". They were a great band as well.

All the bands played well. The venue accomodated the crowd reasonably. Sound quality was good and security was in place.
