About

Australian hard-rock trio Sick Puppies made their mark in the music world in the late ‘90s and early 2000’s with angst-ridden gems like “Nothing Really Matters” and a hard-hitting, far darker version of Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name.” With such emo fare, it’s odd that a heartwarming viral video set to the Sick Puppies’ song “All The Same” featuring a street performance artist giving out free hugs would catapult the band to wider fame. Tear-jerking videos aside, however, longtime fans know that the Sick Puppies music is usually far more loud and best experienced LIVE. With Shimon Moore’s powerful vox, Mark Goodwin’s virtuoso drumming, and Emma Anzai’s seriously sick bass-playing skills, admirers never miss the chance to grab tickets to watch Sick Puppies perform hits like “You’re Going Down,” “Odd One,” “Riptide,” “There’s No Going Back” and “Die To Save You” LIVE in concert. The dynamic band plays a blend of acoustic and high octane tunes, taking fans from mellow to mosh-pit within seconds. It’s no surprise that Sick Puppies fans travel from far and wide to catch their stellar act. Band members cite Green Day, Rage Against the Machine and Silver Chair as major influences on their sound, while their music has been compared to Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed.

    These chicks rocked

by Anonymous on 4/3/14House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

I can't believe it wasn't a sold out crowd. These three bands were great! All had their unique niche, but all still rocked. Lacuna Coil has such a unique sound with the two voices mixed. Sick Puppies' lead singer, Shimon was great! He got the crowd rocking and singing to each song. Emma's energy on bass added to the show's power.

    Sick Puppies/Lacuna Coil & More

by KT69 on 3/5/14Club Fever - South Bend

A great combination of hard rock delivered by talented and up and coming artists. Lacuna Coil gave a wonderful heavy hit of rock and Sick Puppies pulled in the entire crowd to sing along with some of their hits.

My review is written at a dichotomy. I really enjoyed the bands and came to see the headliners, Lacuna Coil & Sick Puppies. After trying to see Lacuna Coil for the past 10 years (I kept missing them when they came to my neck of the woods), I can say it was worth the wait! Christina's energy was infectious. For the first time, I fought my way through the mosh pit to be center stage for LC and it was worth it! The mosh pit didn't get too rowdy which made it comfortable for me to be there but overall, the bands did a great performance. My critiques come with the hall itself. They made us all stand outside in zero degrees for about 30 or 40 minutes AFTER the doors were supposed to open and most of us missed the first act because of it. I think this problem would have been resolved had they handled the line like I've seen at other venues - I noticed most of the hold up was people paying in cash for tickets up front. I've seen lots of venues have two separate lines, one for people with tickets and then one for people who still need to buy. That would have gotten those of us with tickets in a lot faster, out of the cold. The sound check team kept failing to provide effective microphones and equipment for the bands. One of the bands even had to stop in the middle of the first song to do a sound check again. Due to those problems, I don't plan on seeing another show at this venue again. But the bands played with energy and passion and made the experience enjoyable and memorable.

    SICK PUPPIES ARE SIC!!

by BMJRSDJ on 3/5/14Club Fever - South Bend

One of the best shows I've seen!! Sick Puppies are 100% "ROCK 'N ROLL"!! A guitarist, a bassist (a bad ass bassist!) and a drummer ... and some "sic" playing! Emma is awesome. She captivates your attention throughout the whole show. Shim carries the mood and rocks his own. And Mark and Shim rocked out on the drums. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the show. The only thing I regret is that I wasn't one of the first 50 to buy a t-shirt, so I didn't get in on the meet 'n greet... I will the next time!! Love the band. Loved the show!! Highly recommend if you've never seen them live.

    AWESOME show--KILLER opener in Charetta!

by ACHudson on 2/27/14Irving Plaza Powered By Klipsch Audio - New York

I bought the ticket for Lacuna Coil, one of my favorite bands--and was pleasantly surprised when local rockers CHARETTA were announced as the opener. These guys stole the show, showcasing five of their hardest rockin' tracks (and frontwoman Angelina del Carmen's voice range) in a tight, 25-minute set.

Shim, Emma and Mark are amazing in concert! They sound great and their set list is a great mix from all of their albums. They also love their fans and stick around to sign things and meet with fans at the end. Can't think of another band that does that! Shim is great at getting the fans involved during the concert and Emma and Mark are amazing to listen to! Love this band znd saw them for the first time 5 years ago. They just keep getting better!

This was definitely my favorite concert! I have been to many but all 3 bands were great. We met Sick Puppies that night and they were very cool, just like normal people. Not a better than attitude or anything. The were great people!

    SIck Puppies in Alaska!

by TravelersfromFairbanks on 12/3/13William a Egan Civic and Convention Center - Anchorage

The Sick Puppies were fantastic and a great band. Their performance was exciting and well done. The only drawback was the long wait to see them. Concert time was 7:00 pm - they were not on stage until 9:45 !!!!!!!!!! Those of us who arrived on time had to endure 4 local bands with long pauses between each. The long wait included standing the whole time for a total of 4 hours. By the time the concert ended we chose NOT to wait in line for an autograph which was a shame.

by Aurora9 on 11/26/13William a Egan Civic and Convention Center - Anchorage

didn't realize it was going to take 3 hours for them to take the stage, 4 other bands played before them. if i'd known it was all head banging music, would not have attended.
