SHY GLIZZY IN CONCERT:
D.C. rainmaker Shy Glizzy is at the top of the capital's rap game thanks to his fresh sound and unflinching portrayal of street life. Glizzy is known for mixing it up, flowing over R&B beats and laying R&B vocals over hard rap beats, and his penchant for messing with the rules has set him apart from the pack in a major way. Since landing on XXL's coveted Freshman Class list in 2015, Glizzy has made good on the buzz with swag-heavy performances that showcase his easy, confident flow and commanding showmanship. Whether he's slaying with "Guns & Roses" or feeling "Awwsome", Glizzy and his posse prove that D.C. rap ain't playin' every time they take the stage.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
D.C. isn't known for its rap scene, but Marquis Amonte King, aka Shy Glizzy, is out to change that. Glizzy started self-releasing music in 2011, and by 2012 he had D.C. on the rap radar thanks to popular mixtapes like Law and Fxck Rap. His profile got a boost when Complex named him one of "10 New DMV Rappers to Watch Out For", and in 2013 he followed up on the success of his Law mixtape with Law 2. His big breakthrough, however, came in 2014 with the mixtape Young Jefe, which spawned his biggest hit to date "Awwsome". The track cracked the Top 40 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and rap heavyweights A$AP Rocky and 2 Chainz hopped on the remix. With new material slated for 2016 and rumors of a forthcoming full-length debut, Shy Glizzy has all eyes on him—and D.C.

Will Tha Rapper didn't stay out long and I didn't really expect him to but his set was still good. Shy Glizzy didn't come out until 11 and it ended a little before 12. I was very much so annoyed just like most people who attended and expected more. He did bring out Lyquin and Goldlink so that's a plus. I'd more than likely pay to see him again though simply because I love supporting people from our area and I've been a fan for a few years.

He danced and everything. No one knew he had a broken foot until he told us at the end of the show. It was very creative for a new artist. I have been to every show he has at the Filmore since then. All of his fans be turned. I love Glizzy
