SHREK THE MUSICAL
Based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the Book by William Steig
Everyone's favorite ogre is back in the hilarious stage spectacle based on the Oscar-winning, smash hit film.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there's more to the story than meets the ears.
"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek.
A Packemin Productions and Riverside Theatres production.

Wonderful production! Liked the movie, loved the play! Very talented cast and the orchestra was amazing! Highly recommend!
What I expected was broadway version I have seen on tv. What I got was an exceptionally executed show with great singing that was missing some of the scenes and songs from the original. Again the crew sang very well but overall we let a little disappointed.
I’ve been watching the Broadway stage recording for years and fell in love with the show. You go into a smaller production knowing it’s not going to be as good as a top tier Broadway cast but….I was blown away. The cast was extremely talented, professional and entertaining. We laughed, we cried blah blah blah. The only thing I would say disappointed me was the changes they made to some of the jokes to “modernize” which I didn’t think was necessary but not a big deal either and they left out some of my favorite songs but it’s a traveling show so, no harm done. Overall, I highly recommend seeing this production. Afterwards, please go watch the full version for more songs to love.
It had been awhile since I had seen a musical and it was wonderful! The acting was great and the music was even better!!
I went to see Shrek the Musical at the Tennessee Theater last Tuesday and it was so good! The actors voices were spectacular! Occasionally the actor who played Shrek's accent would go in and out, but I didn't really mind. Overall would recommend! They even had a cocktail themed after Shrek!
I’m a fan of Shrek and the rest of the cast, seeing it from the big screen to theater stage relieves the magic once again! Cast were very funny as always, set design was nice, but if they add more creative settings, props, and can’t help it but comparing to the actual movie castings, it pushes everything to the limit!
Great times with my daughter and granddaughter..perfect opportunity to spend time with family
Shrek the musical was incredible! The performers were so fun and energetic! I am so glad I got to see this show!
The show itself is fun and at times, entertaining, but it seemed to be low budget. The decorations and stage sets were minimal. I also did not like the musicians off to the side, who were clearly visible the entire show. The acting was decent.
It was cute and different than most shows I have seen this year. The cast were very talented and it is a good start for a young audience. Not sure I would see this one again but glad I went when getting the opportunity.
