Shin Lim on Tour
Catching Shin Lim in the act is unlike watching any other magician perform. Instead of making people disappear or sawing them in half, he simply concentrates on card tricks. But he raises the level of his sleight of hand with a deck of cards to a fine art.
There's drama, music, and a kind of a ballet to Lim's magic. And he's known for performing his illusions without uttering a word, letting his hands and his cards do all the talking while his carefully curated music — Lim started out as a musician — tickles the audience's ears. If you've seen him in one of his many television appearances, be it Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America's Got Talent, or Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you've experienced only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a Shin Lim live performance.
Shin Lim Background
Born in Vancouver to Singaporean parents and raised in Massachusetts, Shin Lim had two passions in his youth: music and magic. He was studying music in college when he learned that he was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery caused him to abandon playing the piano in favor of becoming a professional magician.
He got one of his first big breaks when he was given the chance to tour in China. Since he didn't speak the language, he kept silent during his tricks, and that practice became a signature of his shows. Bringing a bold, unprecedented artistry to the realm of card tricks, Lim really began to hit it big when he worked his magic on TV's Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015. The performance became a social media sensation that elevated his profile dramatically. Since then, he's frequently appeared on TV, twice becoming a winner on America's Got Talent. And he tours widely, taking his illusions everywhere from Las Vegas to Broadway.
Shim Lim was good, think he should have been a backup 2nd though..
Such a great experience! Shin Lim and Colin Cloud did not disappoint. We were on the 4th row in the middle section and you could see EVERYTHING. We were definitely amazed. Would HIGHLY recommend the show. And it was family friendly too.
Shin Lim is thought to be the #1 sleight of hand entertainer. He is that. And he is the champion of the AGT show for a reason. Very entertaining. He paired with a mentalist from AGT that was not only very good, but also very funny. We totally loved the show!
Great show, whole family love and enjoy the show, my kids even asked me if she can watch the show again the next day.
The Shin Lim show is amazing. Mr. Lim is such a talent and his magic is exceptional. This is the second time I’ve seen his show and it just keeps getting better and better as his talent. I will go back to see this show again and again. The venue is great. I had amazing seats second row, and, the Magic is on the same level as David Copperfield just done in a different way of course. He could easily be the next David Copperfield. Congratulations Shin on having such an amazing show!!
Second time we’ve seen him during our visit to LV. He is very talented at his craft and leaves you in awe. How did he do that??? His first “trick” with cards on the chair backs is probably my favorite. Collin Cloud is always great, as well. He is great and quick with his audience. I’m glad to see him interspersed during the show, rather than a one-time act. I highly recommend the show. Thank you.
I loved this show- the combo of a mentalist with shin lim was so entertaining. I would recommend to anyone coming to vegas
It was an entertaining show overall. The highlight was Colin Cloud. He lit up the theater whenever on stage. Shin Lim is very talented, but his playing card illusions got repetitive. It felt like Shin Lim was into himself, whereas Cloud was into the audience.
Great show for everyone. Seeing Colin was an extra special bonus. Love them both. My only suggestion is to adjust the camera showing table tricks to get closer and the stage was a bit too dark
We loved the show. We saw Shim Lin as he was our entertainment at our ACCESS National conference a few years ago. He has added a lot to his show and it didn’t disappoint. I could watch him for hours. Also loved Collin Cloud, he is extremely quick witted and funny! Collin will be our entertainment at our conference this year, May 2024. If you haven’t seen Shin, you need to go!
Magic, storytelling and humor. Great show! Colin and Shin complement each other keeping the audience engaged and entertained.
Went with friends and had no idea who this person was. Pleasantly entertained and honestly had more than one outburst of “what the hell! Cmon!” Shin Lim is a master of sleight of hand close up card trickery. He did add a bit of glowing lights and piano to his show. Enjoyed his Irish opener dude as well. 👏🏼
No complaints. Show started on time. It was an amazing show. We had a great experience.
We enjoyed every minute of Shin Lim Limitless! Shim and his opener, Colin Cloud had us thoroughly entertained throughout the entire show. They leave you wondering from one trick to the next. Be sure to participate & keep up with the audience participation card trick. You'll be astounded!
Great magician and one of the best shows in vegas by far!
How in the heck does he just make cards change from red to black, or change completely from one card to another for that matter! Or Colin Cloud’s work with numbers or reading people’s minds. It’s an interactive show. The 1st card trick involves the audience and 4 cards for each audience member. Listen carefully and it’ll work! This is the 2nd time I’ve been to the show. It just amazes me each time!!
Amazing show, whole family enjoyed the performance, his talent is crazy
It was a very enjoyable and fast moving show. We purchased the mid week tickets the night before the show. It was well attended. A good event for a teenager.
Shin Lim was amazing. The meet and greet for pictures and autographs after was very special. Colin Cloud was also fantastic. The two of them work very well together
What a great show! Highly recommend. Best magic show I’ve seen in Vegas yet!
