The Clairvoyants on Tour
Mentalist duo the Clairvoyants â comprised of Austria natives Thommy Ten and AmĂ©lie van Tass â are living proof that magic is real. Just ask anyone who saw the engaging couple compete on Season 11 of âAmerica's Got Talent': Ten served as a raconteur-like ringmaster, as van Tass executed multiple mind-reading exercises. At one point, she precisely guessed the number of jelly beans in a glass, despite being blindfolded; at another point, she was somehow able to write out info from âAGT' judge Simon Cowell's credit card while being submerged in a water tank.Â
The Clairvoyants had plenty of performance practice before these television appearances. After first teaming up in 2011, the pair landed a slot on Jeff Hobson's The Illusionarium, which played on the Norwegian Getaway, and then on the touring magic extravaganza The Illusionists. Thanks to this work, the pair won the "World Champions of Mentalism" award at 2015's Championships of Magic.
Yet the Clairvoyants' âAmerica's Got Talent' appearance (and subsequent second-place finish) led to even bigger and better things: The duo performed in Las Vegas with Season 11 âAGT' winner Grace VanderWaal, and also joined the cast of Broadway's âThe Illusionists: Turn of the Century' in late 2016. In fact, the Clairvoyants were even dubbed Stage Magicians of the Year 2016 by the Academy of Magical Arts and the legendary Magic Castle Hollywood. This momentum has only increased, as the duo frequently tour the U.S., including for a festive 2018 Christmas trek.
The pair is impossibly cool and collected under pressure, even as tricks ramp up in difficulty and intensity. This almost-nonchalant attitude adds delicious tension to the Clairvoyants' brain-bending live performances â which, as on âAGT,' are full of eye-popping magic tricks and mind-reading, all coupled with opportunities for audience participation. Suspending disbelief is certainly a must, although with performances this well-crafted and entertaining, it's easy to let your imagination run wild.Â
The show was somewhat worth the price of the ticket. It moved slow, and the performers spoke to the audience like they were first graders. However, it was good, clean amusement and definitely suitable for children.
OMG best show ever! We had the best seats, that Thommy picked both of us for a couple acts! Now that we were a part of the show it will really be a memorable experience for a lifetime! They were amazing! We loved every minute of the show!
Me and my sister had seats in n the front row and Amelie and Thommy were both awesome! I was so surprised when Thommy called for the person in the blue shirt! Thommy was extremely friendly and the magic was up close! Everybody should go see this!!
If you have the opportunity to see The Clairvoyants ~ Thommy Ten and Amelie van Tass, you really should seize the moment, and see their fantastic show ~ you won't be disappointed! I first saw The Clairvoyants on AGT and was so impressed by their classy mesmerizing performance that I kept telling my husband that one day I'm going to see them live ~ and then, there they were 20 miles from me, in small town Iowa! That a world class act would perform for those of us who can't get to big cities to see their wonderful show says a lot! A wonderful couple that cares about their audience is what I felt from the moment they walked on stage! The Holiday show was fun, they even included their little dog in the act! The show was outstanding! I was too late to get front row seats, however...The Clairvoyants' act includes audience participation, so it was exciting to be included in the show. It was fun to see everyone's jaw drop every time their predictions came to fruition! It was really nice to see The Clairvoyants at a smaller venue, they let us take pics with them and we even had the opportunity to chat a bit! However, my dream is to see Thommy and Amelie perform in Vegas! Amelie's gowns were so beautiful and sparkly, and the couples love for each other and what they do together had a sparkle of its own! Excellent!
Second Epic Clairvoyants show my friend and I attended! This is a must go see show to experience! Tommy, Amelie and Koni are Epic to see live! They have been at Isleta Casino Showroom twice once in 2022 and then in 2023! Two different shows that have left audience going đ€©đ€©đ€©đŻđŻđŻ. Each show is different and they get the audience to participate with them! My friend and I are thankful for the Clairvoyants returning to Albuquerque! We will attend everytime you return to Albuquerque and without a doubt that the shows will be different each time! Everyone should attend a Clairvoyants magic show at least once and you will want to see them again! The Clairvoyants and Koni please return to Albuquerque yearly! I will be going to see you again and again! You are the Best show I have ever seen in person! Thank you for the end of the show meet and greet with me and my friend. The show was really good and very enjoyable and we the audience was involved
Pros: easy ticket purchase, convenient parking, show began on time, good technical support, clean & comfortable venue. Strong performance. One of the best two-person telepathy routines I've seen. Nice work on the serial number reveal and identifying the number of cigarettes in the pack. Identifying the brand of cigarette from the smoke smell was a great touch! Needs Improvement: Show room is single-level which means the sightlines aren't good and the audience is crammed together. Ho-Chunk needs a real theater w/ tiered seating for shows like this. Performer's accents made understanding them difficult at times. Might want to consider closed captioning on the video displays. Magic tricks lessened the impact of the telepathy routine. Just sends a message that the telepathy is a 'trick' as well. Uri Gellar didn't become world famous by being a 'fake' mentalist. Lose the dog. It's adorable - but an obvious Piff the Magic Dragon/Mr. Piffles rip-off.
Interacting with the audience was very enjoyable! The magic was great!
I can't express how awesome this show was! I was chosen to go up on stage and it was such a fun experience! And the kicker was, they gave me a deck of cards and it just happens that I collect them! It was awesome!!! Thank you for coming to Idaho! I would definitely see another show and bring my entire family!
Our daughter gave me tickets to the Clairvoyantâs show for my birthday. She never missed watching them on TV. We were completely blow away with their abilities! Both Thomas and Amelie are an amazing team and such a cute couple! Best show I have ever been too! We had the opportunity to meet them and visit with them for a few minutes. They are such sweet people and so fun to talk too! We will definitely be going to more of their shows. Canât wait to see them in Vegas!
