Shin Lim on Tour

Catching Shin Lim in the act is unlike watching any other magician perform. Instead of making people disappear or sawing them in half, he simply concentrates on card tricks. But he raises the level of his sleight of hand with a deck of cards to a fine art.

There's drama, music, and a kind of a ballet to Lim's magic. And he's known for performing his illusions without uttering a word, letting his hands and his cards do all the talking while his carefully curated music — Lim started out as a musician — tickles the audience's ears. If you've seen him in one of his many television appearances, be it Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America's Got Talent, or Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you've experienced only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a Shin Lim live performance.

Shin Lim Background

Born in Vancouver to Singaporean parents and raised in Massachusetts, Shin Lim had two passions in his youth: music and magic. He was studying music in college when he learned that he was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery caused him to abandon playing the piano in favor of becoming a professional magician.

He got one of his first big breaks when he was given the chance to tour in China. Since he didn't speak the language, he kept silent during his tricks, and that practice became a signature of his shows. Bringing a bold, unprecedented artistry to the realm of card tricks, Lim really began to hit it big when he worked his magic on TV's Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015. The performance became a social media sensation that elevated his profile dramatically. Since then, he's frequently appeared on TV, twice becoming a winner on America's Got Talent. And he tours widely, taking his illusions everywhere from Las Vegas to Broadway.

  • Wonderful, fun anniversary experience

This was a great part of our anniversary staycation in Las Vegas. The show was fun, it was magical, and it kept you entertained. When we walked in, I asked if they had any upgrades for our anniversary and we were moved up to row F (I think). The supporting cast was wonderful. Shin Lim is a great performer and so good at this craft. I recommend this show for sure.

  • Seems to be a one-trick pony

I like how he told a personal story about the evolution of his career, throughout the show. Nobody warned us that there was a mentalist and a wife/hoops artist also in the show. The card tricks were pretty much all variations of the same sleight of hand movement.

  • Loved it

A wonderful show detailing the beginning of Shin Lim’s journey into magic including the introduction to his wife. Lots of audience participation. Comfortable seating. Worth the cost for ninety minutes of entertainment.

  • Majestic

Shin Lim is absolutely mind-blowing. His magic isn’t just tricks, it’s beautiful, flawless art. Every move is precise, elegant, and impossible to look away from. If you ever get the chance to see him live, don’t hesitate. He’s truly one of the best magicians in the world. Peter Antoniou, the British mentalist who performs with him, is hilarious, sharp, and unbelievably entertaining. His comedy and mind-reading add the perfect balance to the show. Together, they create an unforgettable experience that is 100% worth seeing.

  • Not worth the money

by EK on 11/16/25Palazzo Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

Although Shin Lim is amazing at sleight of hand, he lacks stage presence and is very awkward when he speaks before an audience. His over dramatic voice is difficult to listen to.

  • SHIN LIM!!!!!!!!!!

by Brian on 11/12/25Palazzo Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I saw it without even knowing who Shin Lim was. My wife was born in a place called Shinlim in South Korea, so I just saw it because I was curious to see their names shared. It was a truly amazing performance, giving me goosebumps time and time again. I've seen other shows in Las Vegas, but Shin Lim was by far the best.
