Sheng Wang is a Taiwanese Texan who developed and honed his comedy in the thriving standup community of the San Francisco Bay Area. He performs jokes based on personal experiences and observations and addresses common non-sense with honesty and ill logic. His refreshingly affable stage presence combined with a healthy penchant for absurdity and self-deprecation make his act hilarious and universally accessible.
He has toured with the Comedians of Comedy and American Eagle’s ‘Campus Comedy Challenge.’ He has also appeared on Comedy Central’s ‘Live at Gotham' and attended the 'Just for Laughs’ comedy festival in Montreal. Wang's half hour Comedy Central special aired in 2011. NBC also awarded him with a holding deal that same year. Wang's appearance on the John Oliver NY Stand Up Show aired in August of 2012.

Very polished material. Smooth delivery. If you liked his netflix special, you will like this show.
Sheng Wang had a hard act to follow after his Netflix special. His show was all new material and just as amazing. He was supposed to have one show in Boston and had three sold out shows . If you can get tickets, go !
He was funny and great. His opening act was also very funny. Had a great time my stomach is still hurts from laughing so much.
Sheng Wang and his opener Kevin Camia had us laughing pretty much non-stop for almost two hours. Highly recommend! Great venue too, the Wilbur Theater.
Sheng killed it with his intellectually based, off the wall, observationally random, thoughtfully constructed and beautifully delivered humor. I loved Sheng's performance. The audience loved Sheng's performance. I sat next to a man that laughed from line one to Sheng saying, "good night."Would I pay good money to see Sheng Wang again? Yes, indeed I would.
Saw him open for Ali Wong and then thought he was way better and we went home and watched his Netflix Special and as soon we saw he had his own show we were ecstatic! His opener was pretty funny as well. But his humor is 100% my type of humor my cheeks were hurting and I was crying from laughing so hard - I literally had to scowl during the show to rest my cheeks when I wasn't laughing. I would recommend him to everyone, I feel like his style and delivery is universal!
New to us but many may already know Sheng Wang. We started following after watching his Netflix special and this show did not disappoint, a matter of fact, it definitely exceeded our expectations! His skits were fresh and topics refreshing! Great performance and we look forward to attending more of his stand-ups!
This was such a great evening! Sheng Wang is so funny. His opener was funny, too! People in the audience were really nice and well-behaved. I laughed a lot and thought the venue was great, and everyone I encountered who worked there was helpful and polite.
Sheng Wang can find humor in anything. Where a majority of stand-ups focus their material around relationship/sex drama this dude's over here making a topic like toothbrush color choice hilarious. Laughed non-stop. So glad I went!
It’s wild that with all that high-tech stage gear, the one thing they didn’t add was a huge screen to showcase Sheng’s micro-expressions. Like, I get it—he’s a minimalist. But we’re not asking for holograms here, just a little zoom-in so we can see the subtle eyebrow lift that turns a good joke into a great one! At least at home with Netflix, you can see every twitch of his smirk, every sigh of exhaustion as he talks about, like, going to Costco or whatever everyday stuff he turns into gold.
The whole set was hilarious. Sheng Wang really knows what he's doing and he keeps the audience engaged from beginning to end.
Great space, great set, and enjoyed the opener too!
If you enjoyed Sheng Wang‘s wildly popular Netflix special, Sweet and Juicy, then you will absolutely love his current show. It's all new material, but it's just as hilarious, relatable and 'fresh' as Sweet and Juicy. I brought a friend who had never even heard of him and we both laughed through the whole thing. Don’t miss this show!
I don’t go to standup often although watch a ton from Netflix. Sheng Wang’s recent show at the town hall delivered everyday observations with a dose of his humor. I and audience were cracking up by his jokes and great stage performances. The town hall was also a perfect venue location offers convenient transportation, intimate enough I can get a good pic of Sheng Wang, and enough space to host decent amount of audiences. Accoustic was perfect. Overall a 5/5 standup experience for us!
Great fun, lots of out loud laughs! I would recommend seeing him live if you can .
Loved seeing Shang Wang live. I would definitely see him again. Great "laugh out loud"show!
He feels like a regular colleague or friend, sharing funny stories. The jokes are incredibly relatable and genuine.
The show was fabulous. Everything Sheng Wang said was so relatable, and it made great memories for our dating night.
Of course he got his name with his Netflix special and he even acknowledges as much upfront… But a hype is all real. If you’d like that style, where the joke is more in the delivery and the accent of $.25 words seem to come from nowhere and this is a show for you. I literally thought I was going out for laughing too much. Unlike many standups today he does not seem to draw on current events… This is all just his very quirky unique personality being shared for us. Also, I got to say that the Balboa theater staff in San Diego was outstanding great attitudes and Service by every single employee. It was almost creepy.
