Sheng Wang is a Taiwanese Texan who developed and honed his comedy in the thriving standup community of the San Francisco Bay Area. He performs jokes based on personal experiences and observations and addresses common non-sense with honesty and ill logic. His refreshingly affable stage presence combined with a healthy penchant for absurdity and self-deprecation make his act hilarious and universally accessible.
He has toured with the Comedians of Comedy and American Eagle’s ‘Campus Comedy Challenge.’ He has also appeared on Comedy Central’s ‘Live at Gotham' and attended the 'Just for Laughs’ comedy festival in Montreal. Wang's half hour Comedy Central special aired in 2011. NBC also awarded him with a holding deal that same year. Wang's appearance on the John Oliver NY Stand Up Show aired in August of 2012.
Very fun night at the punchline. The host and three comedians were all very funny especially the Shane Keane and Sheng Wang who had the crowd roaring. Very quick wit from these comedians. Great night of comedy. Venue is fun too. Thanks.

A good young comedian. His humor is fun and is well paced and is pretty clean so you can bring guests or younger family without bring embarrassed by the show.

Sheng is an absolutely amazing comedian. Very smart, heady, well thought out and intelligent comedy. Does not rely on crude or foul language to be funny. He melds into common behaviors, cultural perceptions, behaviors and verbal nuances to make the audience laugh and see the humor or absurdity in our lives.

There were two couples in our group and the comedians were slow at best. I think our group laughed maybe 6-7 times in the 75 minute program.
Funny and bright! There was not one dull moment. Sheng's jokes are hilarious without ever having to go the cheap and easy route. His dead pan and low voice delivery show that a comedian does not have to shout "funny, here I come!" Go see him!
I went to an early Friday evening show at the Punchline in SF. Sheng Wang was recording a record, so he used some of his older material which I had heard on several YouTube videos. Normally, I don't like it when comedians recycle jokes in their standup, but Sheng sprinkled them throughout his set with new material so it didn't really bother me. His material ranged from culture, dating, to his experiences living in New York. Most of it was funny without being crude or shocking and I appreciated his insightful views and polished delivery. Although a lot of comedians who are racial-ethnic minorities tend to rely on jokes about race or racism, Sheng was unique in spending little time on the matter. Instead, he went for topics that cut across race or religion, which shows how smart he is in appealing to a broad audience. I recommend Sheng Weng if you like comedians like Louie CK, John Mulaney, and Patton Oswalt.
All the acts were polished and hilarious and the headline was literally the culminatin hilarious climax to a stand up comedic night. Spectacular and unpredictable. I will be frequenting the venue for years to come as a result of sheng wang and his opening acts.
Service was very good. The only issue was I couldn't sit across from my date. I sat in front the way the table was setup. A little weird . Otherwise get there early to get good seats.
