Shen Yun Performing Arts is a triumph of collaboration, bringing together over a hundred of the world's foremost classically trained Chinese dancers, choreographers, musicians, and vocalists. It also boasts the world's only full orchestra that embraces both Western and Chinese instruments as its permanent members.
Based in New York, Shen Yun Performing Arts is distinguished by its conscious effort to remain independent of China's communist regime, which has abused and impoverished the arts for decades. It is proud to thus include members who practice Falun Gong. The company aspires to create original performances that not only entertain, but also more deeply educate, enrich, and inspire. The company's rich repertory is drawn from the pages of history, universal themes, and the world around us. All choreography and music performed are original.
Expectations were so much higher. It felt repetitive
Love the MCs explaining each act... The performers were very colorful and entertaining.
From the beginning to the grand finale, I was on the edge of my seat.! The music, dance, singing, orchestra were an enchanting exhilarating lifetime experience. I was in awe! It truly is a "must see."And for me...I plan to take a double look. I must see Shen Yun a second time. Once isn't enough! One of the BEST performance I have attended.
I expected the show to be wonderful and it exceeded my expectations!
Best show I’ve seen in a long time. Colorful and extremely entertaining.
Dancing, and singing. Show moves toward Religious Propaganda thru out the show. The dancing was okay some of the dances were wonderful. The other ones were okay nothing special.
apparently, my dad and mom had tickets for the Shen Yun performance in 2014. this would have been their last date before my dad passed of a long term illness. my mom had to give their tickets away because dad wasn't well enough to make it and he died shortly thereafter. fast forward to 2024, I found out that mom had always wanted to see the Shen Yun performance but couldn't with dad, so I very proudly treated her to your show. she and I had a wonderful, memorable time! the performance was delightful. thank you for being a part of giving my mom her "last date".
I loved the dances with the beautiful colors, but overall I found the show boring. I go to a lot of stage plays and ballet, but I left this show at intermission.
Girls beautiful dancers , scenery was great and magical the way they made them look like they were flying. The storying telling was great also. And the announcers telling us in English and Chinese was very helpful. The costumes were beautiful just like on T.V. I will tell my friends to see it.
We were front row center. watching the Orchestra and the timing of the dancing was beautiful!
Most of the dancing is spectacular, although after awhile, the movements all seem the same. Great acrobatics and wonderful costumes. The screen technology is remarkable, where the dancers and screen images quickly interchange. The singers were painful to listen to. The first one was pitchy and never quite in tune. The second one had a vibrato that was so wide. Also the translation of the songs is very religious. The second song said atheism and evolution are Satan’s doing. This is very extreme.
It was very-very beautiful concert. What I did not like were the broadcasters. There was no need for them to speak aftet every dance. And it would be much better just to have a non-stop concert without broadcasting. The second thing I did not like was the length. It was too long. YET it was an increadable experience to be present at. Thank you!
Great marketing. The show itself was mechanical, and with no soul or emotion. The stories were relatively cute, but no depth and the dance as much as they are skilful, not impressive at all and very repetitive. The special effects on the screen seem to be from the 90’s, old and poor quality. It’s truly just a rip off. We left at the intermission. Go spend your money on something worth it.
It was ok, glad we saw it. Looks better on TV. Sako
Hello I must say we were thoroughly disappointed and left at intermission- along with a bunch of others we don’t know. I had taken my mom a decade ago and remember a more spectacular show of acrobatics and great performances. Not sure what has happened but the crew appears smaller and the dances are mediocre in showmanship. Less acrobatics and overall boring and disappointing. We saw a bunch of people walk out about 15-20 min into the show. We were at the Dolby theater on a Saturday night.
I have been waiting for three years to see this show. It was everything i wanted it to be, and more! My favorite act was the flower girls.
The performance was good the venue was not so good, first of all once we all had been seated it felt that the air conditioning was turned off. Making uncomfortable for all to enjoy the play. As the time got closer to intermission my party and I were taking layers of clothing off and fanning our self with the program given to us at the entrance. My party and I decided to leave the play after intermission due to the uncomfortable conditions. This may just be the worse experience ive had during an event like this.
Would have appreciated if they would have done a better job explaining who they are and the connection to and persecution of Falon Gang (sp?) by the communist party in China.
The show was absolutely stunning. My family & I enjoyed each story being told. I like the biblical aspect of the show as well. Family, Friends, and Neighbors must see
The TV commercials definitely capture the best moments. Startling dance, gymnastics and aerobatics, but it's weak on storyline. My hats off to the many young people involved in what I imagine is near lifelong training. However, could be reduced to one hour.
