    Shelby was fantastic!

by ivyheart on 5/17/10Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

She was amazing!!! 5 stars! I looked on Ticketmaster to see if she was playing in Birmingham the next night. I wanted to see her again. The band was fantastic and the music could not have been better. The venue was great. Shelby played for over 2 hours, the crowd would not let her leave the stage!! Go see her!

    Shelby was very disappointing

    by tro16 on 5/16/10Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

I was very surprised and quite frankly disappointed in the manner in which Shelby came out on stage, she appeared very intoxicated and highly unprofessional with her language. This was my first time I have seen Shelby Lynn and although I think she has an amazing voice, her stage presentation was less than impressive. I have seen many concerts around the Atlanta area, Florida, and Las Vegas and this was by far the worst that I have seen.

may have been the best concert i"ve ever seen

by baggies29 on 5/13/10The Concert Hall - New York

Was familiar with some of Shelby Lynns music over the years and never got around to seeing her perform. While I always very much enjoyed listening to her I never fully appreciated what an amazingly talented artist she is until this past Monday May 10, 2010 when I saw her perform in N.Y.C. Her music, her voice, and her delivery are incredible Her band is great. it was an evening to remember.

Shelby Lynne performs with an honesty rarely seen on stage - you know she's doing it because it's what she really feels from the heart

    Shelby is on!

    by Villager56 on 5/12/10Birchmere - Alexandria

It was great seeing and hearing Shelby's performance last night. She had a small group, consisting of a guitarist and a bass guitarist, and she played guitar as well. This small group arrangement allowed her wonderful voice to shine, and that it did! The sound mix showed off the inflections of her voice, and she sang with much emotion. The set list included most of the songs from her new album, and a few of her older tunes. What a treat!

    Shelby Lynne is unbelievable!!!!!

by Borsani on 5/12/10The Concert Hall - New York

The concert was superb, from the beginning. The amazingly talented newcomer Findlay Brown played an understated opening with just a guitar which was excellent and the complete opposite of his album which is very Phil Spector big sixties sound. I've seen Shelby twice before and this was the best she has ever sounded! She was engagingly interactive with the audience and though the concert was heavily gauged toward the new album (which is excellent) she ended the show with a fantastic rendition of "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" from her superb Dusty Springfield album. A few other highlights, Old #7 and Where Am I Now.

    Slow to get going

by Mommaworks on 5/12/10Birchmere - Alexandria

Shelby Lynne played what I am guessing were songs from the new album at the outset. Too similar, not very interesting, and with a few canned sounding chit-chats. Not inspiring, Her voice is undeniably beautiful, though. When she got warmed up and into her broader range of vocal and emotional expression, the concert was very fine. Great delivery of Alabama State of Mind.

    hot

by billcuz on 5/12/10Birchmere - Alexandria

Shelby Lynne is a talented songwriter and a gifted singer, with vocal qualities up there with the best -- Patsy Cline, Dusty Springfield, Loretta Lynn, Tanya Tucker. Soulful, with a bit of twang. Passionate performer. Great live. Stripped down little band -- Shelby on guitar sometimes, with two sidemen, bass and guitar. Sometimes missed a little punch, but not often.

    Great Voice; Missed Her Hits

by CakeCutter on 5/12/10Birchmere - Alexandria

With one of the finest singing voices known today and always entertaining commentary, Shelby's performances are never boring. Last night at the Birchmere was no exception. Anything Shelby sings sounds wonderful, but her obvious disdain for her commercial hits is disappointing. Had she added "Dreamsome" & "Killin' Kind" to the playlist, I would have rated the performance amazing. Concerts shouldn't always be about promoting the latest albums. Too often artists forget that the loyal fans pay to hear the signature songs. Wouldn't it be great if we could vote online for a few songs we wanted to hear beforehand?

    Shelby stays true to form

    by slshelton24 on 5/12/10Birchmere - Alexandria

I've seen her before...and will go again and again. Shelby Lynne is just simply a wonderful performer. There's no gloss or set changes or fireworks. Just good, soulful, heartfelt music. If you are a fan of country to adult contemporary to blues, this woman will show you a thing or two. She sings from the heart. Writes from experience. Here is an artist that turns her passion about Airstream trailers into gold. She makes you laugh out loud. Her words can lift you and crumble you. And she reminds you that we're all just here making it through. The venue (Birchmere in Alexandria) is perfect for an event like this. They know how to do it right. I was skeptical when ordering the tickets to see that there was only a will-call option. Now I know why! Doors opened at 5, get a "line number", have a beverage and chat with your fellow concert goers, then the line numbers are called and you can choose your seat. They've turned a photo processing plant into a work of art. For a concert hall, they serve some pretty darn good food, too! From what I could tell, there really are not any bad seats. See Shelby! Go to the Birchmere! That's the bottom line.

    Shelby Lynne: The greatest talent!

by DNYC on 5/11/10The Concert Hall - New York

If you do one thing in your lifetime, make sure to experience the greatness that is Shelby Lynne - Live. An unbelievable talent who deserves to be heard, witnessed, experienced and truly enjoyed. No other artist is capable of conveying such honesty, emotion and heartfelt passion through her lyrics, melodies and truly unmistakeable voice. In an age of tricks, gimmicks, hype and fakery, she's one who truly deserves to be heard.

Shelby Lynne at her very best!

by Zeusyboy on 5/11/10The Concert Hall - New York

Opening act was too long & a bit boring. By then Shelby was needed on stage in the worst way. Coming out, dressed down in jeans and a T-Shirt, she captivated the hall as soon as she sang the first note. We are dealing here with a talent not seen often on stage. Almost like a relic from a long ago gone era. The woman can sing, play guitar and write her own material. Unlike the many who make 1,000 times more money than her, she is the total package, whereby they are nothing much to write home about. A great evening given by a great lady of music, soul & a story teller galore. Thank you Shelby for being who you are. We love you!

    Shelby Lynn - Outstanding

by OverlookGoldens on 5/11/10The Concert Hall - New York

Every time I see Shelby Lynne in concert I am amazed by her talent. Last night in NYC she was brilliant. She has a great sense of humor and rapport with the audience (who was clearly in love with her!). Her music was tight and the songs from her new album were terrifically well done. She brought the house down with a haunting version of You Don't Have To Say You Love Me.

Shelby Lynne at Ethical Culture concert hall

by Ralphie212 on 5/11/10The Concert Hall - New York

The show was great, as always with Shelby Lynne, but the acoustics in that hall are terrible. We were right in the center of the rear orchestra and could hardly hear the vocals. The sound guy was totally in the wrong place, off to the side of the orchestra and should have been more centrally located so he could have heard the sound and corrected the volume on the microphones. Otherwise a great show.

    shelby lynn concert NYC-magical

by fadingfast2010 on 5/11/10The Concert Hall - New York

Shelby Lynn is a special intimate artist who gave a soulful, passionate, personal concert in an incredible venue, The Concert Hall in NYC on a quiet Monday night in May. It felt like she was performing in your living room with 250 friends. Her set consisted of pretty much her new album, which is good, although new to most of the crowd. Still, she blew us away.

by AnaYngelmo on 5/11/10The Concert Hall - New York

Second time I've seen her live. Both times she's been amazing. Great set list, fantastic band, and what an amazing voice. One of the best singer/songwriters out today.

It was good to see Shelby happy.

I have never been to a bad Shelby Lynne concert. This was one of the best. She is in fine voice and had full control of the room.
