Legendary singer, percussionist, and Prince protĆ©gĆ© Sheila E. continues to bring the funk nearly three decades after her debut. In 2013 she released Sheila E ICON, her first album of new material since 2001's Heaven, proving she remains firmly in the groove with rhythmically stunning tracks like "Girl Like Me" andĀ "The Leader of the Band", which was co-written by the Purple One himself. A seasoned performer who's as comfortable soloing on the guitar as she is on the drums, Sheila E. never fails to dazzle on her hit-filled tours.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
California-born Sheila E., a.k.a. Sheila Escovedo, comes from a long line of accomplished musicians that includes her percussionist father and punk rocker uncle. She made her recording debut as a drummer on Alphonso Johnson's 1976 track "Yesterday's Dreamin'", and by her early twenties had played with legends like Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross. In 1978 she met Prince, launching a career-defining collaboration that led to her breakout success as a solo artist in the mid-'80s with Prince-penned hits like "The Glamorous Life", "The Belle of St. Mark", and "A Love Bizarre". With the release of her seventh album Sheila E ICON in 2013, Sheila E. displayed the same rhythmic mastery and stunning vocals that made her a star, building anticipation among ticket buyers for her next unforgettable show.
Sheila E is a timeless gem. A great performance and really makes her audience take a journey with her during the show. I even got a video of her (saved forever)as she walked through the crowd. My friends are jealous š¤£

shiela gives 200% every minute of her show Motor City venue was so much better than Aretha ,much closer and sound. is so much better.Shiela puts someone likeCharlie Wilson to shame with her energy level and the quality of her performance

Love the intimacy of the theater; however due to Covid the seats were way too close together!! The bars blacked walk ways and view to stage. Little to no room for wheelchairs. A disaster waiting to happen.
It was a little drive. But weāll worth it. Sheila E. put on a spectacular show. She sang all the great hits plus some bonus Prince songs!! I would definitely see her again. Weāll done.

Sheila E. is an iconic percussionist that has played with greats like Tito Puente and Eddie Palmeri. She is to date one of the best female percussionists ever! Her set was funky and exciting. She had the crowd on its feet and brought the house down with her renditions of Prince songs. And of course she was Glamarous!!!
Very energetic show. Sheila E and her whole band for you fully involved. I'd go to see her again.
Awful venue ! Chairs setup in ballroom, no real theater. Has first row seats but could not see performer as people from everywhere in the room rushed the stage and stood in front of you ! Huge speakers in front of first row seats, awful sound system. Will never attend another event at Texas Station !! Show was OK, not what we expected, very disappointed.
Show started on time,sheila E was amazing i would go to this venue again,intimate,up close and personal,put me on the email for upcoming events
Enjoyed her concert! Wish she was putting on a New Year's Eve Party 2020 ! Would like for her to return ! Only Downfall for the concert was that we purchased front stage seats, and people that purchased seats in the back came to to front and blocked our view ! Security needed to clear those people away to prevent from blocking our view !
To see an iconic was awesome. Took my daughter to see Sheila E, who opened the doors to female percussionists. Who said girls can't play drums! Got to meet her family and dad, who I grew up watching. It was worth the wait to meet her. WE LOVE YOU SHEILA E!!!!!
