About

SHARON VAN ETTEN IN CONCERT:

Indie darling Sharon Van Etten is on the verge of something big --whether she's singing along to her Gibson acoustic or rocking out with a full band, her musical style transcends traditional  boundaries, making her one of the genre's most promising rising talents. Van Etten's dynamic vocal range is impressive as she mesmerizing audiences with her warm, angelic voice, and her lush harmonies have become a focal point of her live shows. Back on the road for a series of highly anticipated dates, Van Etten will treat fans to classics like "For You" alongside newer material like  "Every Time the Sun Comes Up," the closing track from 2014's Are We There.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Sharon Van Etten got her start at a young age, singing in her New Jersey hometown's church choir and taking up violin, clarinet, and piano. Throughout high school she performed in a number of school groups, and in 2005 she moved to New York to pursue music full time. After years of penning songs and playing local gigs around Brooklyn's bar scene, Van Etten landed an opening spot on Meg Baird's 2008 tour, releasing her debut album Because I Was In Love a year later. Having established her harmonious new sound, Van Etten quickly followed up with epic (2010) and  Tramp (2012), landing on tour with The National and The War On Drugs. NPR describes her music as " heartfelt without being overly earnest...and her elegant voice is wrapped in enough rasp and sorrow to keep from sounding too pure or confident," and it's this delicate balance that gives her unique music its edge. Back on the road in support of her 2014 release Are We There, Van Etten is set to give fans an experience they won't soon forget.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“She has one of the most unique women's voices in the music industry today and her songs touch on a deep place in the human condition."

"Sharon is one of those artists who is a triple threat: talented, humble, and charming, and she certainly didn't disappoint."

"Definitely a worthwhile show to go see. She sounded great!"

Came For Angel Olsen, Which Was Okay

by Rock on 8/1/22Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

She mainly played songs from her new album "Big Time" & two songs that were not off that album such as "Shut Up Kiss Me" & another one I don't know the name of. I just wish she played more of her older stuff but it's her concert so she can do whatever she wants I guess...

    The Wild Hearts Tour Rocked

by Zoax on 8/1/22Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

All four performers lit up the Greek Theatre Friday night. It was awesome. From the relatively unknown Quin Christopherson to the final duet with Sharon and Angel, there was so much energy and love of great music.

    Very good show.

by KCB_LB on 7/31/22Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

A lively performance. Sharon's stage presence has changed a lot (for the better) since I last saw her. With a short haircut, looking incredibly fit in tight leather pants, she was bopping around the stage and interacting with the audience more than she did years ago. Played some great tunes: Save Yourself Seventeen Every Time the Sun Comes Up Check out the Wild Hearts Tour

    Pretty good

by Ok, no on 7/31/22Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

Venue is good. Great chicken tenders. Julien baker played the same song 9 times in a row, Angel Olsen ruled, Sharon Van Etten tried to connect with the audience.. in which she referred to a pandemic that has affected probably everyone in her audience economically socially and spiritually as a “sign from the universe for her to slow down” really? Please, next time remind the performers (the ones who are wealthy and probably out of touch with reality) to be careful what stupid and tone deaf stories they share on stage. Otherwise, Angel Olson ruled, would come back again.

Would not attend this venue again

by Nonya on 7/31/22Moody Amphitheater - Austin

The sound was absolutely blasted during the final artist. Seating area is snug. If you or anyone want to get up everyone has to stand up for you to get out.

    Wild Hearts Tour

by Jimmy W on 7/28/22Moody Amphitheater - Austin

One of my favorite shows ever! The musicians/bands were all fabulous; they performed on time (even in the 100+ Texas heat). Sharon especially crushed it!

    Sounded great, couldn’t see anything

by Concert lover on 7/28/22Moody Amphitheater - Austin

The artists were fantastic, the reason for the 4 stars has nothing to do with them. I go to a lot of concerts, and for this one we got lawn tickets. I’ve never been to Moody Amphitheater for a show before, so I had no clue that they didn’t have screens for the people in the back. The sound system is amazing, and the show was fantastic in that regard. I just wish I could have seen it with my eyes! I had to zoom all the way in on my phone camera to even get a blurry semi-image of the bands. My advice is get screens stat and this venue will be one of the best in Austin.

    Amazing Rock ‘N Roll’

    by Jessica on 4/28/22

Sharon has a soulful, deep and beautiful voice. Her lyrics are poetic and she puts on a hell of a show. If you’re ever given the chance, run don’t walk!

Love is real for Sharon and band

    by R. W. on 4/24/22Jefferson Theater - Charlottesville

A powerful magical show that rocked from the beginning but also hit notes that left some in tears, in a good way. Sharon's genuine warmth as well as abilities as a performer/musician/songwriter made for an unforgettable night.

    ROCK & ROLL LADY

by Larbo on 2/26/19Neptune Theatre - Seattle

Sharron really kicked ass, she is the proverbial rocker. Almost the reincarnation of Joan Jett & Chrissy Hyde. Yet people still don't know who she is, sad. First time in the Neptune Theatre and its ambience was very crusty and interesting, just loved the Neptune Sconces with eyes that were lighted. Cannot wait for her return.

    amaaaaaazing

by s. on 2/12/19Beacon Theatre - New York

So....John Mulaney (unannounced ; subbing for the absent fred armisen; love Fred but that's a major WIN) opens with 15-20 minutes of stellar standup. Opener band was crap and forgettable. But S.V.A. is the best thing in popular music right now. She did not disappoint. Perfect set list including a beautiful Sinead cover. This night will be hard to top!

    Sharon's Back in Town

by faithfulsherper on 6/15/14Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Sharon has truly embraced a richer fuller sound with her new album, Are We There and the same can be said of her live show. Since I last saw her perform at Town Hall, her backing band has expanded to include back up vocals and brass accompaniment! Her performance brimmed with confidence and swagger. The Music Hall crowd lapped it up graciously.
