    Spectacular Shaolin Warriors

by tkdgrls on 10/30/09University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

An amazing experience. My children were mesmerized and loved every second of it. The choreography was wonderful and the physical feats would have been unbelievable had they not happened right before my eyes. We are a family of martial artists and found the show awe inspiring.

    Shaolin Warriors was outstanding

by ReillerDVM on 10/30/09University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

The mastery of the internal and external Kung Fu by these men ( and boys) is beyond amazing. If my own mastery of Kung Fu approaches even a quarter of theirs, I will consider my training successful. You must see these Warriors, whether you study martial arts or not.

Great display of strength, agility, and humor

by Sneak on 10/24/09UPAC - The Broadway Theater - Kingston

I was very pleased with the show. I enjoyed the way they tied in their traditions within the performance as well. The thing I was pleasantly surprised to see was how they brought humor into the show. The part when they brought the children on the stage was a lot of fun to watch - hysterical! It really was a show in which anyone, any age could enjoy.

    Merging of dance and fighting

by DHofHV on 10/24/09UPAC - The Broadway Theater - Kingston

I took my 2 boys to the show as they have been invovled in karate for a number of years. It was wonderful how they blended dance and martial arts moves. The show was entertaining. Part dance, part circus, and part martial arts.

Very good performance. My entire family, two adults, one 10 girl and one 15 year boy, enjoy he show. In the middle of the show, they invited some audiances to come to the stage for some quick martial art learning. It was nice touch and very amusing.

    Warriors

by parole236 on 10/23/09UPAC - The Broadway Theater - Kingston

They were fantastic. They did all the martial arts stuff that you would expect but they did it with a low key sense of humor and had good audience participation. They had the backdrop of the temple and conducted much of the show as a martial arts class. I taught another style for many years and appreciated how well they did things. The use of the two children was excellent.

Shaolin - grace & power melded as one

by Josiethehud on 10/23/09UPAC - The Broadway Theater - Kingston

My grandsons, who are a teen and early 20, were with me. The performance was awe inspiring for all of us, for all ages. There was such a serenity with calm control in each unique individual. My grandson is part Chinese., I so want him to be joyous in his roots. This was a great experience for his self realization. To watch these wonderful men and boys reach for perfection and actualize it , inspires me and my grandsons to reach higher.

    Warriors were amazing!

by AmyBet on 10/12/09BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - Englewood

The warriors were amazing. Strength and grace. The music was great in some stretches, poor in others. At one point one of the performers decided to skip a trick which had been all set up, and the music for it just ended with a screech. But the flexibility and mastery of their disciplines was awesome to watch. When one of the youngest warriors put a foot over his head, then fell into a rigid split, the entire audience gasped. When they brought audience members up onto the stage to participate, the Shaolin Warriors exhibited a great sense of humor and patience with their untrained 'volunteers.' One comment, there was little or no announcement to the audience, and at times we weren't sure what was going on. I was unsure of what to expect, but bought the tickets as a gift for someone who does karate. We went with open minds, and were pleasantly surprised.

    ShaolinWarriors multifaceted entertainment

by Excelsis on 10/11/09BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - Englewood

It was physical, it was spiritual, it was entertaining! Many of the feats were unbelievable, and always exciting. The audience participation, especially with the the children, was great. Though much of the audience seemed to be experienced in martial arts, that was not the case for me. Nevertheless, I was totally drawn in from beginning to end. Highly recommended!

    Well worth the money

by kdenbra on 10/10/09Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

The overall show was spectacular. This time around they used the crowd as well, children and adults. The program explained a little more at the other performance though. My family and I really enjoyed ourselves. Great job Shaolin Warriors.

    Not A Hong Kong Fooey

by Taiji on 10/10/09BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - Englewood

Excellent show. It's an impressive display of skill and committment to an ancient art form. I only saw one person drop their weapon. Seeing all of the animal forms was particularly interesting as well as the sparring, both with and without weapons. I couldn't help but wonder how many people there were actual practitioners of some martial art themselves, but it was amusing when they picked two of the larger guys out of the audience who apparently were not practitioners and attempted to teach them sparring. The fog and lighting was a nice touch and the fluidity of their movements was a true demonstration of their physical and mental control. I'm sure every kid that attended will be doing their own kata for weeks after standing up on stage with them. I'm sure we'll go to see them again and look forward to any new surprises they bring with them.

    Spectacular Skills

by Martialarts on 10/5/09Ferguson Center for the Arts Concert Hall - Newport News

The program was spectacular and jaw-dropping amazing. It's as if the monks have defied the laws of gravity. They exhibited unbelievable kicks, leaping across the stage weightlessly. Their ability to withstand shock and force of objects hitting them is also quite impressive. Flexibility of the monks is also incredible. In all, a true extroardinary martial arts event that is also entertaining for the family, whether you are a student of martials or not. My favorite is the segment where the monks simulate the fighting styles of various animals (a Shaolin technique itself) -- tiger, crane, snake, drunken monkey.

    Shaolin Warriors were Amazing

by PetieMB on 10/5/09Ferguson Center for the Arts Concert Hall - Newport News

I've seen a documentary about Shaolin Monks that train espceially for these tours and it was a welcomed opportunity to see them in person. They were wonderful with the audience; who knew such serious people could make a crowded room laugh at one moment and have us gaping in amazement in the next moment. I was amazed at their talent and control. I would recommend everyone to see them perform their brilliant art. My only slight complaint is that I'd like to have seen them on a larger stage so they could have performed more with the large props they use. (ie: those pylons in the picture). Still amazing with or without the pylons though. Truly a Class Act.
