    Shaolin Show

by Classique on 2/20/17Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Amazing very high quality show and impressively fine audience many families with the most well behaved children I have ever seen. Many Asian people in the audience who obviously believe in love and discipline and appreciation for the fine art of the Shaolin Warriors. I would recommend seeing this show to everyone of all ages.

OMG save your time and money, so incredibly boring

by SOVERYBORED on 2/18/17Balboa Theatre - San Diego

If you enjoy watching a bunch of dudes with shaved heads and robes sitting around and slowly moving their arms around like synchronized swimmers - this is the show for you. I kept hoping things would pick up, but sadly it didn't. Every now and then they would flail around quickly with plastic and rubber weapons but that was rarely seen. Imagine a Jackie Chan movie starring Jackie Chan 15 times with no jokes and the same bad acting. Their attempt at humor was having people from the audience try to do what they are doing. Of course audience members are not going to be able to keep up with the performers who have dedicated their whole lives to this so obviously they will be slow and need a ton of corrections - hilarious.- Not! If you want to see what 80% of the show is about, go to any karate studio and watch a group of kids follow the instructors every move in sync. No story, no rhyme or reason, no sets, 3 props, 1 backdrop. Yeah. I know. You've been warned.

    Shaolin Warriors

by Tommy2Times on 12/5/12Topeka Performing Arts - Topeka

We really enjoyed the show. The feats they performed were outstanding. We were truly amazed at the ability to almost stop or go into slow motion while in the air. One thing we would like to see added is some narrative telling the story of the young men starting out and their progression as they have grown. Also, the significance of the robe colors as they pertain to the different masters and their individual status. Overall, we loved the show.

    Stunning

    by Shawsome on 11/17/12F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

Was very happy to see a show quite this dazzling. The Shaolin Warriors did not disappoint. It was almost like watching a combination of dance, prayer, fighting, and balance. They even brought about 90 kids up on stage to teach them some moves.

by QIKid on 11/8/12Topeka Performing Arts Center - Topeka

I have my black belt in Karate. I have been wanting to see an exhibition like this and was excited to see it come to Topeka, Kansas. They performed many of the sets we perform in class. I was absolutely amazed at what they could do. The younger warriors were great!!!

    Excellent Show

by Anonymous on 11/6/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

The acrobatics and sheer physical stunts were amazing. The control and discipline that they show is unbelievable. The mix of Kung Fu and art make it a very enjoyable show.

The Shaolin Warriors: Entertaining but overpriced.

by AnOldMan on 11/1/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

Interspersed between average acrobatics and martial arts demonstrations, the Shaolin Warriors did demonstrate some breathtaking stunts - the man lying between a bed of sword blades and a bed of nails with another man laying on top of those double-sided nails with a stone slab on top of him that is shattered by a man welding a sludge hammer - and then there's the man with rock hard abdoman taking several pokes from heavy log - and more awsome was the man who placed the sharp point of a spear just under his collarbone and then used force from the weight of his body to bend the wooden shaft of that spear. Those were the highlights of the entertainment. The rest of the stuff, martial arts demonstrations, weapon welding demonstrations, some routine acrobatics, and a less than dramatic story line of a young boy training to be a warrior and his ultimate graduation, were all filler. It just wasn't worth the $112 per ticket (near stage) for the event.

The show takes you through the life and training, along with demonstrating fighting styles; the amount of stamina and agility that must be achieved in order to perform task of becoming a Shaolin warrior.

    Shaolin Warriors are awesome

by chinacousins on 11/1/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

Dramatic and intense with light-hearted moments which included calling all children up onto the stage for a demonstration. The depth of their meditation and spirituality is deep and primal. The physical skill amazing. So powerful and graceful. A gift for the eyes, mind and soul.

Tough on a week night- but worth it!

by TXParent on 11/1/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

They only preformed one night in San Antonio, a school night. We took our 10 year old son. The show was suppose to start at 7:30, it started at 7:45. It is two hours long, plus parking etc. It was a very late night for a 5th grader- but he loved it and overall it was worth it. I do recommend the show for older kids 8+.

Real Live Shaolin - too cool

by HappyLily on 10/31/09University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

This was a very cool show. They brought audience members up on stage. The amount of physical control these guys have over their bodies is ridiculous. It definitely helps to have some knowledge of Kung Fu before you go, as there is no explaination of what is going on. I mean, when the guy puts the spears to his throat you get it. But some of the appreciation for what you're seeing will be lost if you don't have some background info. Fascinating from a cultural perspective. The Shaolin are very cool people. Beautiful. Hard to believe people can do that stuff.

    Shaolin Warriors Performace Was Wonderful!!!

by Binc on 10/30/09University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

We went to this performance last night and were amazed. What an absolutely beautiful performance and we could have watched for hours! The complete discipline they have and absolute dedication was incredible to watch. There were two young boys in the show and they were wonderfully entertaining. We just loved the show and so glad we had the opportunity to go to see this performance. Worth every penny and more, was a great evening and these men should be very proud that they display this ancient art with such beauty.

    Shaolin Warriors

by TAximnjim on 10/30/09University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

I thought it was an amazing event I saw something similar many years ago at the CNE but this was far better....The choreography and the way they defyed gravity so precisionly working as a cohesive force... Loved the interaction when they brought the kids on the stage brought the human element to their show...the costumes and fog created the perfect illusion. All in all great time and didn't hit the pocket book too hard...Would see them again...
