    The monks are a must-see!!

by GordonLiu on 9/26/09Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

This is my second time seeing the Shaolin monks in action, The last time was 10 years ago and I still remembered it vividly. So once I saw they were in town I had to check it out. They do not disappoint. This show was well done, it was surprising, amazing and even funny at times. You should not miss this rare opportunity to see real martial artists and their superhuman abilities.

Excellent performance. Show kept getting more and more technical. Audience participation with the young people was fun.

    Shaolin Warriors wowed me

by NuuanuWahine on 9/25/09Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

The Shaolin Warriors confidently moved through the space of heaven and earth with grace and control. Whether it was springing through air or rolling across the floor, they did it with synchronicity and control. Their moves were fearless, yet their demeanor were serene and without anger. Agile as gazelles and morphing into tiger and dragon, they were astonishing as they swept across the stage in flowing orange robes. Feats of endurance, muscles geared to withstand pain and piercing, as well as masterful displays of weaponry, kept our attention on edge throughout the performance. Perhaps though it was the moments of humor and whimsy (e.g. the drunken monks dancing with heavy rice wine jugs) and maybe the teaching of children gathered from the audience that gave us time to catch our breath and remember our/ their humanness.

    Kung Fu meets Cirque

by Bosley on 9/25/09Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

Shaolin Warriors was an entertaining exhibition of the discipline and training of the Kung Fu disciples. From the masters to the youngest warriors, they all exhibited the mastery of Kung Fu. The audience participation was entertaining, especially the kids.

I was awed by the individual's proficiency of their talents. I kept saying " WOW" all the time. I especially loved the audience participation! The price of the tickets was well worth it...Mahalo!

It was an excellent show! Wish they done performance on the pillars though ~ that would've made it even more spectacular. Have recommended it to others.

The Shaolin Warriors were amazing. What discipline while also being unbelievable performers! It was a perfect mix of disciplined martial arts with graceful almost dance-like moves as the Shaolin Warriors moved in sync with each other. Entertaining for all ages and must see!

Shaolin Warrior Performers are truly remarkable!

by AlohaNuiLoa on 9/24/09Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

The show is a great time for young and old. We were in awe of the control and grace correographed into a colorful show of both individual and group skills demonstrating a shared spirituality that is fiercely action packed and makes for a most enjoyable and remarkably unique family outing.

    very dissapointing

by 1mixed on 9/24/09Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

I recognize the talent as far as the showing of martial arts movements but as a show i found it boring. too much audience participation and by the pictures i had seen and the way it was "sold" i expected a more memorable event. This was very theatrical and mostly about 15 men just running and jumping around on stage. I took my 3 teenage kids and boyfriend and it was a good experience to show them something different to every day tv shows but had hoped for WAY more amazing things and less waving arms and jumping. On posters and brochures it shows them balancing on pillars doing their moves and there was NOTHING even close to that in the show.
