Shaky Boots Festival was a fun weekend!!

by lovecountrymusic1963 on 5/22/15KSU Sports and Entertainment Park - Kennesaw

The line up of bands was awesome, but the way it was set up with the walking back and forth to the stages and the times was terrible. We would have to leave early from every band just so we can see the next one start. Prices were crazy on drinks and food, spent a lot on tickets and parking so maybe next year cut us a break. Maybe people could buy more if the prices were a bit cheaper. Have more shaded places and a water misting stations would be nice since it was so hot.

    Shaky Boots Festival

by Paul103 on 5/22/15KSU Sports and Entertainment Park - Kennesaw

I have to say the performers were great and from there it goes down hill. The location will not allow food in but they do not take into account people that cant eat hamburgers and hot dogs and have food allergies. The venue locations were on astroturf that turned into ovens once the sun hit them and made very uncomfortable to sit there. There was no shade at all so people were hiding under the stands to get out of the sun. The first aid stations was totally under equipped for this event. the sale of alcohol is fine but the sale of large size beer cans on a hot day lead to a number of people become drunk quickly.

    A Great Country Music Festival

by Anonymous on 5/22/15KSU Sports and Entertainment Park - Kennesaw

This was a wonderful event. The set-up at KSU worked very well for the 3 different stages. The furthest stage was a little bit of a walk, but not unmanageable. The bridge could get a little crowded due to the large volumes of people traveling between stages. There was a large variety/quantity of food and drink vendors. The main stage in the KSU soccer stadium was perfect for hosting the more popular artists. I would recommend this event to anyone. I attended both days and it was an enjoyable experience. However, next year I would consider just attending 1 day simply because it was a lot to go for the whole weekend. The start time was perfect though and the second day was a little more relaxing. All the bands who performed were wonderful and the acoustics of the venue seemed optimal.

Bought VIP tickets 6. Pros great access to stage without lines or standing around for hours before the show. Unlimited beer and wine. Great line up. Cons. 4 meals provide all BBQ. After 2 did not want BBQ anymore. Stages far apart. Ran out of Diet Coke and Shaky Boots Shirts. Difficult getting back to Hotel 1/2 mile away because of how the PoPo routed us out of the Gold Lot. Would have been better in Green or Grey lot.

    Fantastic event.

by sisplay on 5/21/15KSU Sports and Entertainment Park - Kennesaw

I thought the Shaky Boots Festival was fantastic. Excellent venue for the event (at KSU). They did a fantastic job of having enough restroom facilities for everyone there. Food trucks provided very tasty food for all tastes. As for the acts there, I truly enjoyed the wide range of country music. Something for everyone. My favorites: Brad Paisley, The Cadillac Three, Whiskey Gentry, Rodney Atkins and Old Crow Medicine Show. Weather Saturday was excellent and only real rain for a hour or so on Sunday. Couldn't have been better...

    Justin Moore was the Greatest

by KKBoots on 5/21/15KSU Sports and Entertainment Park - Kennesaw

Issues with festival. Folding Chair seating area should be larger on field areas. One big issue was that there wasn't a time brake between artist at different stages which cause you to miss artist sets if you moved form stage area to others. Especially with the third stage almost a half mile or more away. It was really rude for waves of crowds to move during artist sets and leave to try to get to other stages for example Dwight Yoakam every body started leaving in droves to get to the next artists on Peachtree Stage. Other than a few things that need tweaking it was a great festival over all. We had a great time.

    Perfect Experience!

by Anonymous on 5/21/15KSU Sports and Entertainment Park - Kennesaw

Festival was amazing! I expected the whole event to be way over crowded and uncomfortable but it was perfect. Everything was very well organized, clean, and appropriately spaced. The performers were great and the stages/sound systems didn't seem like cheap things that had just been thrown together like some places I've been. I have only positive things to say and can't wait to buy my ticket for next year!

    Great venue location!

by Sirky on 5/21/15KSU Sports and Entertainment Park - Kennesaw

I was very impressed with the Kennesaw State facilities. Not only could you enjoy great acts all day - there were people cleaning up the fields in between acts. So when they next band started - there were no beer cans or trash to step on - the fields were clean. Never seen that before at any festival! Food truck park was also great - well laid out - plenty of options to choose from - bathrooms were clean all day, too! Shaky Boots was just well done all around!

    I ❤️ Dierks

by Tboyd2 on 5/21/15KSU Sports and Entertainment Park - Kennesaw

I had a blast at the Shakey Boots Festival. Parking was easy with a shuttle to the venue! The weather was perfect even with the rain on Sunday. We came prepared so the rain didnt ruin anything for us. It actually added so excitement. The prices of food and beer were a little outrageous. Lines for food were so long we missed one of the artists we wanted to see. The food was not good! I am a healthy eater who planned on having a "cheat" weekend but it was not worth it. There were only a few select beers that could be purchased. I would highly recommend adding a wider selection of beer. Festival t-shirts were sold out on Saturday so if you waited until Subday for a particular shirt you were out of luck. The t-shirts did not have the date, place or a list of all the artists that attended. Trash at the Peachtree stage was really bad. We couldn't help but kick beer cans while walking to the stage. All the other stages were clean but that one was extremely nasty! Overall it was a great experience that I plan on attending every year. It's a wonderful ladies weekend!

    An amazing trip

by screenergirl on 5/20/15KSU Sports and Entertainment Park - Kennesaw

This was an amazing trip that I treated myself to and what an amazing time I had. There were bands everywhere. The food was very delicious with a variety of food trucks to choose from. This would be nice to continue on a yearly basis and maybe the Carolinas could be a host. The Band Perry wins my vote for putting on the best show. Everyone was well behaved and no major tragedies occurred. Just to name a few of the great performers Kip Moore, Sara Evans, Rascall Flatts,Brad Pasley, The Band Perry and Blake Shelton. There were many more this is just a few. Great shows, weather and fellowship all the way around. It was very worth the price of the ticket. There were a lot of Shaky Boots going on for sure. HATS OFF TO EVERYONE INVOLVED TO MAKE THIS FESTIVAL SUCCESSFUL.

Most poorly planned music festival ever

by Bummed929 on 5/20/15KSU Sports and Entertainment Park - Kennesaw

This was a very poorly planned and executed festival. There were a lot of good acts, but we spent entire day Saturday going back & forth between stages that were a ridiculous distance apart. With the performance times of various performers overlapping we often missed beginning and/or end of shows. The web site for the festival went on & on about the acceptable chairs that could be used, but when we arrived we found that they could not be used at the largest venue (Peachtree). Wouldn't it have been a better idea just to advise people not to bring chairs at all? The food situation was deplorable as well. When we went to regular concession stands close to the Peachtree venue they were out of everything - even peanuts. The alternative was to walk for 10 minutes to get to the food truck area where the lines for everything were 20 - 30 minutes long. The musical performers were good but overshadowed by all of the negatives above. We drove several hundred miles to get to the festival location and felt like it was a huge waste of time and money. Our tickets were for both days but after the disappointment of the first day we skipped Sunday.

    Awesome!

by CG521 on 5/20/15KSU Sports and Entertainment Park - Kennesaw

The performers were all fantastic! Only 3 suggestions for next year: 1. More shelter area (tents) to get out of the heat or rain. 2. More water stations, as promised. 3. Better parking signage to find the appropriate lot. Otherwise, the music, the people attending, and the staff working were all great!
